Upon seeing this, Monica instantly frowned. "You don't have to do that. I can wash it myself."

Fiona lifted the corners of her mouth. Grinning, she said, "Mom, I'm just pregnant. I'm not that vulnerable. I'm just washing fruits. Relax, don't worry too much about me."

"You don't understand, my silly girl. A woman becomes a delicate princess when she is pregnant. Have you ever seen a princess washing fruits?" Monica said cleverly.

Fiona didn't expect Monica to be so talkative and playful. She couldn't believe that she was actually joking around with her. Smiling, she said, "Mom, I'm not a princess. Let me do a few chores, or else I'll get bored."

Monica put down the fruit knife and said, "You really are a hardworking girl, aren't you? Okay. Why don't you do me a favor and put the fruits on the plate?"

"No problem," Fiona answered gently as she took the fruits that Monica had washed and started arranging them on the plate.

Monica watched her from the corner of her eye. She didn't think that Fiona would know how to present the fruits on the plate so beautifully. To her surprise, Fiona did a good job in arranging the fruits on the plate. It seemed that Malcolm was right about her. Fiona was an excellent woman—smart and hardworking.

In the living room, Ethon was chatting with Malcolm over a cup of tea. Malcolm had a particular interest in tea, as he was quite knowledgeable about it. He often said that life was like a cup of tea—the first taste was bitter, yet it was always followed by sweetness.

He believed anything could be solved and overcome with enough perseverance.

Monica and Fiona walked out of the kitchen, talking and laughing. They each carried a plate of fruit. The lovely presentation of the fruits instantly aroused Ethon's appetite.

Beaming, Ethon asked, "Mom, did you prepare all these?"

"Yes. Who else?" Monica said proudly, thinking that Ethon was going to praise her.

After a short

"Later that day, the teacher checked his pants and found that they were damp. She checked his bed, and it was dry. Of course, she was quickly able to put two and two together. She noticed that the sheets of the kid sleeping next to Ethon were dry, so she turned over the sheets and found Ethon's name written on the name card. Only then did Ethon admit the truth."

Ethon didn't have that much recollection from his experiences in kindergarten, but this particular awkward incident was etched in his mind. He was a smart kid who performed very well in all his subjects. The teachers also knew that he could be quite mischievous at times. When the teachers found out what he had done, they scolded him. That day, when Monica came to pick him up, the teachers informed her of the incident. When they got home, Monica scolded Ethon as well.

In Ethon's memory, this was the first time that he had been spanked by his mother.

He felt helpless as he listened to Fiona and Monica chat so happily at his expense.

He figured that this wasn't a bad thing, after all. Their relationship was now improving. Now he didn't have to worry about having problems with Monica once he and Fiona got married.

"By the way, when are you two going to get married?" Monica asked all of a sudden, smiling warmly.
