Looking into Lisa's bright and beautiful eyes, Morry found it hard to lie to her. She then stretched out her hand to gently touch Lisa's hair. With a soft smile, she said, "Yes, that's right, Lisa. Your mother is very sick recently. She's not feeling well, so she hasn't come to see you yet."

"What? What's wrong with my mother? Is her illness that serious?" Almost instantly, Lisa became uneasy. Her little face was filled with concern for her mom as soon as she heard that something was wrong with Mandy.

"It's not that serious. She's just having a fever. Don't worry too much, Lisa. I will take you to your mother after I finish my work tomorrow, okay?" Morry assured the little girl with a gentle smile. Whenever she talked to Lisa, she would always sound very patient.

Lisa nodded, pressed her lips and responded briefly, "Okay."

To ease Lisa's worries, Morry gently patted her on the head. It was very similar to how Mandy would caress her hair before. The familiar feeling gave Lisa some sense of security. She lay in Morry's arms comfortably, basking in the "maternal love" that she could feel from Morry.

When Nathan returned to the ward, Mandy had just woken up. Then, he quickly noticed that Jamie and Cassie were still there. Two nurses had also come to take care of Mandy. Everyone in the ward had been tirelessly looking after her.

After Mandy had been injected with antipyretic, she woke up with a feeling that her head was not as heavy as before she slept. She didn't know what time it was. Looking out of the window, she realized that it was already dark outside.

"Cas, Jamie, why haven't you gone back home? You should really go home right now. Cas, you're pregnant, so you need a lot of rest. Tiring yourself out is bad for the baby." Mandy sat up from the bed and frowned upon seeing that Cassie was still in the ward.

However, Cassie only shook her head and replied, "I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me."

Mandy raised her head and looked at the clock on the wall. It was already half-past seven. She asked, "Have you eaten your dinner yet?"

"Yes, I just ate some take-out food that your husband bought earlier. I ate it right away, or it won't taste good once it got cold," Cassie said in a playful tone.

Mandy breathed a sigh of relief. She turned to Cassie and said, "You're pregnant now, so you must take good

package, and began to eat the delicious fried chicken ribs.

When she was finished eating half of the chicken ribs, she didn't forget to put some into Nathan's mouth and force him to eat. He used to hate junk food, but now his taste had changed a little because of Mandy. He accepted the chicken ribs from her and ate with gusto.

"By the way, have you talked with Colin?" Mandy asked with hesitation. She didn't know whether Nathan made things difficult for Colin or not.

"Why? Are you afraid that I'm going to humiliate him?" Nathan asked with candor. He knew without a doubt what was on Mandy's mind.

With an embarrassed smile, Mandy couldn't help but lean towards Nathan. Then she completely threw herself into his arms and coquettishly said, "No, not at all. My husband is not that kind of a man. Instead, he's very handsome and gentle."

Nathan reached out his index finger and touched Mandy's lower jaw. Staring at her red lips, he suddenly began kissing her.

They kissed deeply and vigorously for a long time.

"You lips are so sweet, honey," Nathan praised her with a smile.

Mandy felt at ease in Nathan's arms. But she still insisted on asking. "What did you talk about with Colin?"

"We actually talked about you." He frowned a little and raised his lips with a meaningful smile.

Mandy didn't show any change in her emotions. Instead, she calmly asked, "Well, what about me?"

"He said that you're smart, virtuous, gentle, and considerate. To him, you're really unforgettable." Although he tried to hide it, Nathan sounded extremely jealous.
