Nathan smiled coldly and said, "Would you even able to do that?"

"I still have to remind you that Eve is a dangerous woman. She wouldn't stop at anything. She doesn't care about consequences. You know how the old saying goes, 'It's better to have a glorious death than a shameful life.' She also said that she was doing all of those things because she loved you so much. I'm just afraid that you won't have a good night's sleep until you get rid of her. She's like a ticking time bomb, you know." As he spoke, he instinctively took a cigarette out of his pocket. Since he hadn't smoked in a few minutes, he began to feel uneasy.

For the briefest moment, a flash of light flickered across his face.

Nathan sighed, feeling at a loss. He couldn't say anything. How could he not know that Eve had feelings for him? Eve wasn't the same person she was four years ago. It seemed that she had become this sick and twisted woman. In her vile intentions to get him, she was willing to do anything.

Colin stood beside Nathan, taking a big drag from his cigarette. "By the way, I forgot to tell you that Eve didn't divulge to me all the details about the goods produced in the factory in London. But I'm guessing that she must have bribed people from the Diamond Association. So, she is both the whistle-blower and also the briber."

Nathan squinted his dark eyes and said, "Is this what the prosecutors think too?"

Frowning, Colin glanced at him from the corner of his eye and asked, "What? Don't you believe me?"

"I believe you. To be frank, I guessed the same thing as you did," Nathan said with a smile.

"If you believe me, I can help you go to London and solve the case in a week or so," Colin said with confidence. After all, that was what he used to do.

Nathan looked at him suspiciously. I

rry. Unconsciously, he was already learning to accept Morry, little by little.

"Hospital? What? What are you doing there? Are you hurt?" Morry asked worriedly, frowning.

"I'm fine. I just went to see Mand." Colin smiled, thinking to himself how silly Morry could be sometimes.

Upon hearing this, Morry felt her heart ache. Pouting, she said, "Er... How has she been lately?"

"Adrian is not doing well. Mand is pretty worn out. She actually has a fever now." His chest tightened as he spoke. It upset him that he wasn't the one taking care of Mandy right now.

"I see. I'll go see her tomorrow." Morry frowned. If anything, she was more concerned than she was jealous.

Colin smiled and changed the subject. "I'm coming home."

Morry held the phone in her one hand and Lisa with the other. "Okay, we'll wait for you," she responded lightheartedly.

After hanging up the phone, Lisa looked up at Morry and asked, "Aunt Morry, were you asking dad about mom?"

While children were innocent and pure, their instincts were almost never wrong. It had been a while since Mandy came to see Lisa. It wasn't surprising that she would be asking about Mandy, considering that she was her mother.
