Chapter 780 A Deal

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
"Well… People can change." Ethon poured himself a bowl of millet porridge. It was good for the body. It was also one of Malcom's favorite meals.

Malcolm was an army veteran. He often ate steamed buns with porridge for breakfast during service. Over time, he'd formed the habit of eating porridge frequently. In contrast, Monica hated it the most. She instructed the servant not to repeat her breakfast for two weeks. She wanted a new dish every day. As for Ethon, he seemed more and more like his father with each passing day. Monica didn't consider it ordinary to stay the same from day to day.

"You are looking sharp! Are you going on a date?" Monica joked deliberately. She squinted her eyes as she ate the toast.

Ethon didn't answer, so she decided to take it as a tacit admission.

She continued eating calmly rather than getting angry. She had no desire to press the issue. It already seemed like a waste of time and energy.

The atmosphere at the table was particularly charged as all three of them stayed unusually silent.

After dinner, Ethon left straight for the hospital. Monica didn't try to stop him this time. She heaved a silent sigh as he left.

"Oh, well! Our boy is all grown up. We can't keep him by our side forever." Frowning, she sighed again with profound resignation.

"He is a respectful child. You should give him his freedom," Malcolm chipped indifferently as he read a newspaper.

"Freedom? Don't I give him enough freedom? If I hadn't given him freedom, I wouldn't have let him go just now!" Monica coughed to ease the itch in her throat.

"It's good that you didn't try to stop him. What about Fiona? Are you finally going to accept her?"

Monica smiled meaningfully. "Take a guess."

She stared at him and thought

rriage. Ethon is so crazy about Fiona; it makes me want to turn back time. I also want you to be crazy about me."

The irony of it hit her soon after. If she could indeed turn back time, then their marriage might never have happened. This man always seemed to be nice to her, but in fact, he was as cold as a stone. No matter how hard she tried, she could never get his heart to thaw.

Malcolm stood frowning in front of her without responding. He was going to say something but thought better of it.

What is love?

He'd fallen in love with Ivy when he first met her in his youth. How could he have the same feeling for Monica now?

Love was like a hurricane. It came suddenly, although not everyone encountered it in their lifetime.

The man smiled. After hesitating for a moment, he reached out to draw her into an embrace. While gently patting her back, he whispered, "Okay. I'll try my best to. But you have to keep your promise to let go of Ethon. Allow him to do whatever he wants to."

It was a deal. Monica had selfishly used Ethon's happiness as the bargaining chip for her own. She was thrilled at the thought that she could finally have Malcolm's love.
