Chapter 779 You Have Me

Fiona simply lowered her head. She pressed her lips together in an attempt to hold her words back.

Mandy accompanied her through a series of check-ups, which included a B-ultrasound examination. The baby was only five weeks old, so the baby's gender was yet to be discovered.

Fiona trembled with fear as she held the test results. Her eyes were swollen with tears. She could not believe what she was seeing.

The thoughts of having to raise a child came to her once again. She felt extremely connected to the child. Fiona gleefully imagined her life with that child, growing and learning every day. Then suddenly, she felt a jolt of pain in her head.

At that point, Ethon had not learned about the pregnancy yet. Fiona knew that she would eventually need to tell the man.

She had considered keeping her pregnancy to herself for a little longer. However, she realized that her plan might actually backfire on her in the end. 'What if Ethon hates me for not telling him?' Fiona asked herself.

"Sis, do you think I should tell Ethon about this?" Fiona asked Mandy hesitantly as she grabbed the B-ultrasound results and frowned.

"Of course, Nana! It would be impossible for you to successfully conceal this. Your belly will grow bigger every day. Besides, Ethon is the father of the baby. He has every right to know," Mandy explained as she stepped forward. She reassuringly smiled at Fiona.

"But… I don't think we'll ever get married," Fiona said rather gloomily as she kept her head low.

"Why is that the case? Nana, Ethon had always been nice to you. I really think you should tell him. If you don't want to continue this pregnancy, then I would have to accompany you to an abortion clinic. By then, you wouldn't need to tell him... Just think things over, okay?" Mandy walked towards Fiona and took the results from her. She pointed at a little blip on the picture and said, "See that? That, right there, is your child."

As Fiona stared at the report, she felt he

his fair share of romances during his youth. He knew what it was exactly like to be in a relationship. The man understood that separation means suffering for two people who are in love.

However, Malcolm also knew that life did not solely revolve around love. He had seen many people sacrifice love for the future of their careers.

Monica raised her eyebrows as she primly sat at the dining table. She held a glass with her slender hands and slowly took small sips of milk. She thoughtfully eyed Ethon and asked, "What has finally made you decide to get out of your room, son? I must say, I am truly delighted to see you!"

Ethon decided not to respond. He pursed his lips as he walked towards the table.

He gently pulled out a chair and sat opposite to his mother.

Monica looked a little tired and haggardly without make-up. Her age had turned against her. She relied on jewelry and fancy clothing in masking her imperfections. The freckles and wrinkles on her face were very apparent. Her eyes were even bloodshot. It seemed as if she was not sleeping well at night.

These days that Ethon had spent isolated took a toll on Monica. Seeing how he had affected his mother, Ethon felt guilty and distressed. The guy recalled how proud and confident Monica used to be. Ethon hated seeing his mother in this light.
