Chapter 654 I Don't Know What Rich People Are Thinking

"It seems that Lisa knows about our divorce," Colin said gloomily.

Mandy's head snapped up in surprise. "What?"

"I'm so sorry. I didn't want this to happen. She asked me the other day if we got a divorce, and whether you had abandoned her." Colin planted his back against the wall, looking sullen.

Mandy nibbled her lower lip, worry creasing her brow. After a while, she sighed. "Since we can't conceal it anymore, I'll explain it to her when she wakes up."

"How are you going to explain it?"

"How else can I explain? I'll try to tell her the truth. But I'm afraid that she's too young to understand everything now." Deep down, though, she had reservations. Before returning to City A, Lisa was a happy and carefree child, but everything had gone through the roof since then.

"Can't we just keep it as a secret from her?" Frowning, Colin fervently hoped that Mandy would play up to his act.

"Haven't you told her yet?"

His head hung low, feeling defeated. "I'm afraid the consequences will be disastrous. I don't want to see her get hurt."

"She's a sensible kid. She'll handle it well, and I know it's going to be okay," Mandy said, shaking her head in disagreement. Yet, even as she denied him, she was having second thoughts if she should tell her the truth or not.

In the kindergarten

Eve had been waiting outside of the kindergarten long before the school was over. She found no trouble entering the gate under the guise as Adrian's godmother.

The sharp staccato of high heels hammered down the hallway. A moment later, a tall, stylish woman in a long dress stood in the doorway.

Miss Ren looked out of the window and recognized that the woman was Adrian's godmother.

She pulled her colleague's arm and asked, "Miss Yu, that's Miss Su, Adrian's godmother, right?" She had not seen Eve for a long time, unlike before when she used to frequent the kindergarten to pick up Adrian.

"What happened to the two of you? Why are you treating me like the bad guy? I'll talk to Nathan and make sure you don't cause any more trouble. Adrian needs to change his class, considering you're not setting a good example. You will never get away with this!" Eve angrily stomped forward and grabbed Adrian.

"What? You think we're wrong?" Miss Yu's eyes were wide and full of hatred. 'How could there be such a shameless mistress?'

Eve scoffed, and without another word, she took Adrian's schoolbag and water cup.

She walked out speedily, each step hastened by guilt and fear. It was not until they got in the car that she became relieved.

As soon as Eve left, the two teachers bitterly expressed their complaints.

"Who does she think she is? Look at her! She's so shameless!" Miss Ren said unhappily, obviously irked.

"You're right! She's very arrogant. No wonder she's a lowly mistress who tries to destroy others' family!"

"She even accused us of being in the wrong. In my opinion, she is the one who's off the track. She's insufferable! We should talk with Adrian's mother and warn her to keep him away from that person," Miss Ren grunted, angrily crossing her arms across her chest.
