As the building was still under construction, the workers had built it up to the 53rd floor. Nathan carefully looked at the migrant worker who stood at the very edge of the building terrace. It was a dangerous position, and now that he had asked Nathan to go over to him, Nathan would have to step cautiously.

With an alarmed reaction, Fred stopped Nathan. "Mr. Jin, you can't go up there. It's too dangerous. You might get hurt if anything rash happens. Let me go on your behalf instead," he anxiously requested.

Nathan waved his hand dismissively at Fred. "Don't worry. I'll be fine." He pushed Fred away and then strode towards where the worker was standing, all alone.

As soon as Nathan reached the spot, he opened the briefcase, which held the brand new and shining red banknotes worth one million.

The migrant worker's eyes went wide when he saw that. However, he was still suspicious. He asked him incredulously, "Why are you giving me so much money? Is this a trap? Are you planning to fool me?"

Nathan calmly but carefully assessed the worker's position before clarifying, "I heard that your daughter is suffering from leukemia. You should take the money to the hospital immediately and save your daughter. You're still so young. Why are you taking such a drastic decision? Don't be stupid now. Your wife and daughter need you. They're waiting for you out there. A man is the backbone of his family. If you die, who'll look after your family in the future? How will your wife and daughter survive?" After saying that, Nathan closed the briefcase and handed it to the worker. Anyone could see and hear the sincerity that was written all over his face and in his voice.

At the mention of his suffering daughter, the worker b

half-jokingly, turning slightly emotional at seeing the good change in Nathan.

Nathan smiled, acknowledging Fred's words. He was being nothing but selfish here. All the good he was doing was for his wife and son. Because he hoped that the good deeds he had been doing would one day turn into good luck for Mandy and Adrian. However, it was enough to be kind. He couldn't feign his soft side all the time at work.

"Make sure to run a thorough investigation into this matter before you go off work tonight," Nathan gave Fred a cold-voiced order.

"Yes, sir," Fred responded briefly as he pulled himself together. He had gotten carried away with Nathan's good behavior for a few seconds and now found out it was just short-lived.

Meanwhile, as Serge was driving Mandy back home, she was sitting in the back seat, pondering what had happened in Nathan's company.

Serge looked at Mandy in the rearview mirror. As he was wearing a pair of dark brown sunglasses, Mandy didn't notice him staring at her for a long time. When Serge observed her being absent-minded, he inquired in a polite tone, "Mrs. Zhou. Do you want me to drive you back to the villa?"
