"Okay, okay! That's enough for today. Let Bonnie get some rest." Her father grasped Bonnie on the shoulder, frowning.

The atmosphere in the ward suddenly quieted down, revealing the depressing mood of everyone in the room.

Simon and Nacy walked in, holding hands. Bonnie was simply staring at the ceiling with empty eyes when she heard Caroline ushering his son over to them. "Simon, come here."

When she looked up, Bonnie could only fix her gaze on their interlocking fingers, a gloomy feeling casting over her heart.

She had been with Simon for so long, but they had never held hands together like that. He had never looked at her so lovingly, and Nacy and he had only been together for a few days. Bonnie averted her gaze. What was Nacy doing here? Had she only come to watch her here and laugh at her demise?

"What are you doing here? Who asked you to come? You're not welcome here, Nacy," Bonnie snapped. Although she was still pale and her voice was still hoarse, her eyes were narrowed like a snake, glaring at the woman who had stolen her man.

Fearing the worse for his girlfriend, Simon pulled Nacy towards him, staring Bonnie down. "We're only here to see you."

"Sorry to disappoint you then. I'm not dead," Bonnie snapped in return.

At her words, her parents turned away, her mother sobbing into her father's shoulder. They had raised their daughter for so many years, and here she was taking her own life just for a man. Their hearts were broken.

Nacy remained silent, but a part of her hated being spoken to like that.

"Bonnie, you can't say things like that!" Bonnie's mother warned.

"You're still so young, Bonnie. You have a bright future ahead of you. My son just wasn't lucky enough to capture your heart." Caroline bowed her head.

"Auntie, you don't have to say that. I know Simon's heart is with someone else." Bonnie chuckled in return, her scornful face evident.

"I've only c

ing his head.

"Nonsense! How can you say that you are fine? You're still bleeding. Let's get that stitched up." Nacy didn't even wait for him to reply as she quickly took him to the emergency room to get it fixed.

Caroline was about to chase after them if not for Johnson holding her back.

"Don't mind them. It's their own business, Caroline. I think it's time we both take a step back," he instructed.

Nacy took Simon all the way to the emergency room. The doctor treated Simon's wound and stitched up the edges. It wasn't serious, as the shards only cut his skin.

That night

After her work, Mandy returned to her own room to knit the scarf. It was almost finished. Although it may look simple, one could see the complexities of the lines if they looked closer. However, she still wasn't used to this. At first, her scarf was so bad that she had to unravel it and knit it all over again.

Madeline prepared a bowl of steaming seafood noodles for Mandy.

As she was enjoying the flavor of the noodles, her stomach suddenly rumbled. Although she liked noodles a lot, a few bites into it, she suddenly felt like retching all over the floor.

Mandy choked, covering her mouth with her hand as she rushed over to the bathroom, vomiting all the contents into the sink.
