Chapter 378 Mr. Jin Did Not Show Up At The Interview

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
It wasn't easy for Mandy and Nathan to be in this stage of their relationship already. In a metaphor, it was as if they had built an immeasurable building with their efforts. If one piece were to fall and everything would crash, all that they have done would be in vain.

She clenched her fists at the thought, hoping that the day would never come.

At JS International

Nathan was about to check the progress of the recruitment process when his phone rang. As he took a closer look, he realized that it was Mandy calling.

He brought the phone closer to his ear, a doting smile tracing over his lips. He couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows when he glanced at his watch. 'Shouldn't she be at the outpatient department now? How could she have the time to call me?'

"Nathan, are you busy now?" When he finally answered, Mandy quickly sat upright. She rubbed the place between her eyebrows, feeling the fatigue of the past few hours finally getting to her.

"What's wrong, honey?" He tilted his head.

Just then, Fred came in with a bunch of papers. "Mr. Jin, will you be attending the recruitment?"

As a routine, Nathan would usually oversee the annual recruitment fair held at JS International; however, this time, he'd decline.

He covered the speaker and turned to Fred. "You can go on my behalf."

"It's no big deal. I already asked Fred to handle it."

"Really?" she asked doubtfully.

"What's the matter, Mand?"

For newbies, a scarf took at least three days to make. One scarf would cost a few dozen dollars, while a really good quality one would cost hundreds. No one would waste their time and energy in knitting one.

"Nathan is different, Mom," she said softly.

"Silly girl..." Madeline stopped her steps, glancing up at the neon lights glaring down at her. After walking through such a crowded place, she needed to gather herself. "If...if he hurts you, you need to tell me, okay? I'm really, really proud of you and all your accomplishments, but I'd rather see you happy too, okay?"

"Mom, I know." Mandy stopped where she was going.

"When you go out, you must learn to protect yourself. Do you understand?" Madeline continued, stretching out her cold hands and patting Mandy on her shoulder.

Mandy nodded heavily. She wanted to say something but stopped herself midway. "Mom, don't worry about me," she later said. "Thanks to Nathan, I'm very protected."

Madeline frowned. Now, she didn't know whether it was because she had grown older or her daughter had finally grown up that she couldn't seem to tell what Mandy was thinking. She sensed the tinge of sadness wrapped around her words, but she couldn't tell why.
