"Of course not. We are friends," Nacy smiled. The words came out of her mouth, but they were half-meant.

"Come with me, okay?" Simon took hold of Nacy's hand and gave her a determined look.

Nacy wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do. She was not sure if associating with Simon now was a good idea. Perhaps it would have been a better idea to treat him like a stranger.

Before she could make a real decision, Simon grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her away. He was so powerful, and there was nothing Nacy could do but go along for the ride.

Finally, they arrived at the pavilion in the school garden. There was no one there but Simon and Nacy.

Before Nacy could say anything, Simon spoke up. The words came right out of his mouth, and he did not hesitate. "It was all my fault, Nacy. I'm sorry, but I was so hesitant to show you my true feelings. I was not courageous enough to face what I really feel. But I don't want to be that way anymore, Nacy. I want to live my life with no regrets. I like you, Nacy. I like you a lot, and I'm not afraid to say it anymore."
