Chapter 188 Will You Be Back Tonight

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Every time Mandy was in a bad mood, she would go to the Moonlight Bay Park and just stare at the lake. After a few minutes with the beautiful scenery, her mood would always brighten.

She sat on the wooden board. Her hair was already disheveled by the wind, and her dress was already creased. She took off her shoes and hung her feet over the glistening waters.

Mandy felt as if her heart had just been stabbed. Tears splattered across the wooden board as she wiped them roughly from her cheeks. She clenched her fists, with her mind in total disarray.

She gritted her teeth. She always hated being cheated on, but now...now, it felt like her world was totally falling apart. It was worse than finding Daniel with Celine. It felt like someone was inserting a stake over her chest. She had always been a woman who was unsure about their love.

Mandy just sat there, staring at the mix of blues and oranges till night began to fall.

She glanced at her phone, trailing her fingers over the casing. It was designed by Nathan. It even had his name engraved at the back.

Mandy slowly unlocked her phone, only to see that she didn't get any follow-up messages from him. At this point, she didn't know what to feel or even what to think of the entire situation. She sobbed, feeling the tears welling up all over again.

It had been three hours since Nathan told her that he would work overtime. If he just went to sign a contract, it would have been over by now, and he would be home. But he didn't. And he didn't even call her or send her messages.

Maybe things had already changed. Maybe she wasn't as important as she had once thought. She didn't know where he was, who he was, or what he had done before. She gritted her teeth, chewing over her bottom lip. Did she even know him?

As her phone vibrated, she quickly hovered on her screen, only to see that it was Bruce.

Mandy's heart sank. It was as if the knife was already peeling her open. Seeing the me

e would cook for him all her life.

It was already nine o'clock when they finished. The two hadn't even noticed that so much time had passed. They were too busy telling tales from their own lives, laughing at their jokes and stories. The atmosphere was light.

On the other side of the city, Mandy was overwhelmed with all sorts of emotions. The lake beneath her felt quiet and was cold to touch. Somehow, it mirrored what she was feeling at the moment.

Nathan still hadn't returned, and Mandy was already clutching her phone tightly. Finally, after a few minutes of contemplation, she decided to give him a call.

The phone rang for around thirty seconds before someone answered. When Nathan saw the call from Mandy, he sighed and felt irritated. At first, he didn't want to answer it, but after Eve asked him to answer it, he finally did.

"Hello, Nathan, are you still working?" Mandy asked as if she hadn't just been crying under the cold wind.

"Yes. You can sleep first." Nathan stood up and walked over to the balcony. It was so dark that nobody could see his stature. The city lights twinkled below, and the stars shone above him as if they were trying to dispel the loneliness.

"Will you be back tonight?" After hearing his cold voice, she dug her fingers into her arms, suppressing a sob.
