Chapter 187 He Lied

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Nathan and Eve drove to a nearby supermarket. There, Eve chose fresh ingredients for the dish she was going to make for Nathan–chicken, beefsteak, and some vegetables, to name a few. She was planning to make a meal that she knew Nathan would love.

At that moment, Nathan began to think about how Eve really cared about him, and how she knew all his favorites as he silently watched Eve put things in the shopping basket. He had been used to women who liked him only for his money.

Any woman who got the chance to be together with Nathan wouldn't need to work a single day in her life. That woman would have a luxurious lifestyle. However, Eve was not like that, but mainly it was because she had a fortune of her own. She really loved Nathan for who he was, and not for how much money he had in his bank accounts.

Suddenly, Nathan started to wonder why Mandy liked him and why he liked Mandy.

They came together as a matter of fate. For years, Nathan had been looking for a girl who spoke to his heart. Just when he was about to give up, Mandy suddenly appeared in his life.

It was like fate had played a cruel joke on them both, and no one was willing to accept defeat.

Meanwhile, at No. 520, Haibin Road

Mandy walked into the luxurious villa. Despite the fact that she already felt at home here, she couldn't help but feel lonely. It was because Nathan was not there, and she had already gotten used to his constant company.

In the kitchen, Lillian was busy preparing dinner, unaware that Nathan was not planning on eating there tonight.

"What are you cooking, Lillian?" Mandy said with a smile as she casually leaned against the door.

"Stewed chicken, spicy shredded potatoes, sweet and sour fish..." Lillian enthusiastically announced the dishes she had prepared, all of which were Mandy and Nathan's favorites.

It was at that moment that Mandy realized that she and Nathan had fairly similar tastes.

Since City A was along the coastline, seafood was rather popular here. However, Mandy and Nathan were part of the few people who didn't like eating seafood. They both liked either chicken or beef, cooked in a nice stew.

With a sad smile, Mandy shook her head. "Nathan isn't going to have dinner here tonight. He said he's going to work overtime at the company," Mandy said with a sigh. "Let

Mr. Jin."

"Well, that's what she gets for biting off more than she can chew. Who else in the world can match up to our boss?"

"Don't you think Miss Su is the perfect match? She and Mr. Jin walked out of the office together after work. I think they look perfect for each other!"

"Yeah. No one can really surpass Miss Su's beauty. She and our boss definitely look good together! Plus, she's been inside his office the whole afternoon. What do you think they were up to?"

"All right, you two. Shut up. When you're working, the two most important things to remember is to do your work and keep your mouth shut. Otherwise, you'll get fired soon," the head secretary called out.

The other two secretaries who were gossiping covered their mouths with their hands and looked at each other as if they had been caught in a crime. With that, they continued to work.

Mandy walked back to her car and drove to the Moonlight Bay Park.

Mandy rolled down her window. The night air was cool and refreshing. With a deep sigh, she tried to calm herself down as the wind blew on her face.

Nathan had lied to her. He didn't work overtime, but she didn't want to ask who he was with and what he was doing at the moment. Even if she asked him directly, she doubted whether he would tell the truth or not.

After parking her car next to the road, she walked along the wooden pathway, looking out into the big lake. It was quiet here. Mandy felt that she needed to be alone with her thoughts for a moment, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
