Chapter 186 Mr. Jin Is A Man Of Character

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Although Nathan was not in love with Eve, his parents and grandparents were fond of her. Nathan's grandparents had always regarded Eve as their future granddaughter-in-law.

No matter how far their quarrels went, Nathan and Eve always got back together. Eve was an arrogant woman, but she was a little woman who listened to Nathan's every word when she was around him.

"Are you done, Nathan? It's 4:30 already," Eve said softly, closed the magazine, and stood up to stretch. Her waist was hurting as she had been lying on the sofa the entire afternoon.

Eve had decided to spend the time with Nathan, no matter how exhausted she was.

Love had an intense power over people. It was like a magic spell that bewitched people. People would do anything for their loved ones. They would lift their spirits to offer emotional support, even if they were exhausted.

"Yeah, just a second. I'm turning off my phone." Nathan smiled at Eve. He grabbed his phone and texted Mandy on WeChat.

"I am working overtime tonight and won't be back for dinner."

Mandy had just finished her work when she saw Nathan's message. Her face had turned pale with disappointment. Mandy had lived with Nathan for a very long time, and this was the first time she had heard of him working overtime.

Nathan always drove her to work in the morning. Mandy had to take the taxi as Nathan was working overtime.

"Shall we go to the supermarket to get food?" Eve asked, slipping the chain bag on to her shoulders as she walked in a parallel stride next to Nathan.

"Sure." Nathan lifted his arm, suggesting for Eve to take it.

Eve understood his gesture and instantly slipped her hand into the crook of his arm and followed him happily.

The secretaries in the secretarial room were waiting for Nathan to leave.

Mary was engrossed in her work. She was the Chief Secretary of JS international, and every decision of the company had to be approved by her. She was o

dy.

"I don't know. It depends on my mood." Nathan gave a nonchalant shrug.

"Wish Mr. Jin a good evening from me." Fred smiled.

Nathan gave a curt nod and walked towards his black Aston Martin.

Eve had already settled in the car. She peered around to examine the things in his car. Nathan was a simple man, and the car was empty and had nothing fancy in it. Eve's eyes settled on the rear-view mirror, and a flashy, yellow amulet caught her attention.

She was aware that Nathan wasn't superstitious and never believed in charms. So, Eve reached her hand towards the amulet and grabbed it with her trembling fingers.

The name engraved on it stared at Eve, making her uneasy–Mandy Zhou.

A lump had formed in Eve's throat, and she resisted the urge to smash the amulet into pieces.

Nathan was carrying Mandy's amulet because he still cared about her. Eve didn't want to reveal her anger. She didn't want Nathan to hate her after what had happened the last time. She exhaled loudly, trying to calm down. No matter how furious she was, she would be sweet and polite. Only then would she be able to win Nathan's heart.

She cast a quick glance at the rear-view mirror and saw Nathan walk towards the car. Eve quickly rearranged her expression and plastered a fake smile on her face.
