Chapter 185 Eve's New Style

"Okay," said Nathan as he stared at the ceiling. Taking a deep breath, he slowly closed his eyes and allowed himself to relax. He had been working hard these past few days, and he rarely got a decent amount of rest; therefore, his eyes were starting to get sore. Plus, his quarrel with Mandy made him feel internally exhausted. Laying there with his eyes closed gave him the chance to unwind at the very least.

Last time, Daisy had come to JS International for a special purpose–to inform Nathan that his grandfather's birthday was next month and that he must take Eve with him to the birthday party. A few days ago, he had a fight with Eve because of Mandy. Now, it seemed that he had to make amends with Eve to calm her down and coax her to go to the party with him.

"Nathan... Are you serious? Do you really mean what you say?" Eve asked excitedly as she massaged his temples with her soft hands. She was so delighted to hear the good news.

Nathan reached out to hold Eve's hand. "Yes. How can I lie to you? You are my little princess," he said in a pleasant and magnetic voice.

"Oh, Nathan. I'm so sorry about last time. That was my fault. I won't do it again. I promise," Eve said quickly. She was feeling over the moon with Nathan's answer. Eve was scared that Nathan might bring up what happened before between her and Mandy. And so, before he got the chance to do so, Eve tactically chose to bring it up first and admit her mistake directly. In her heart, she was hoping that maybe if she apologized, Nathan would no longer feel that it was such a big deal.

As she expected, Nathan appeared to be more at ease. "It's over. There is nothing that can get in the way of our relationship," he comforted her. In fact, he was glad to see Eve's compromise so that they would not bother at this issue anymore. There was a faint smile on Nathan's thin lips. He was well-aware that Eve had always liked him. As long as he was willing to say a few good words to sweet-talk her, she would no longer care about their most recent argument so much.

Eve rejoiced at this moment when she heard what Nathan said. With a dazzling smile, she continued to work harder on the massage. She was so precise both in strength and techniques that Nathan felt himself melting in his seat with each stroke of Eve's hands.

Ten minutes later, Eve let her hands slide down to his shoulders and his chest. "Nathan, why don't you go lie down on the sofa there so I can massage your back?" Eve crooned near his ear.

As Nathan stood up, he opened his eyes–he was much calmer than before after Eve's soothing massage. He loosened his shirt buttons and walked towards the sofa carrying Eve in his arms. Meanwhile, Eve blushed as she snuggled up against Nathan's arms.

He could smell her scent as she was so close to him. He could tell that she hadn't used perfume that day–only a faint fragrance was emanating from her much to his delight.

He couldn't help but notice that she looked especially lovely today. A sudden feeling of arousal took over him.

Upon a closer look, he then noticed that Eve was wearing something that was diff

re in silence, sharing the warmth from their bodies.

Afterward, Nathan had to get back to work. And so, while he was busy at his desk, Eve just sat silently on his office sofa as she looked at him dotingly.

It was obvious from the way she looked at him that he was her entire world. When they were just kids, Eve had already had a crush on Nathan. For a long time, she had been waiting for the right time to confess her love to him. However, fate had gotten in the way, as usual. Nathan fell in love with an unknown girl. Eve didn't know what was going on. After Nathan broke up with that girl, he was depressed for a long time. It was during that time that he chose to bury himself with work. Eve was so worried about him, but she did not know how to make him happy.

Seeing Nathan get so depressed made Eve's heart bleed out for him.

She wanted to reach out to him but didn't know how. How could she tell him that her entire being centered around him when he had never even cared about her!

Nothing felt worse than loving a person secretly.

After Nathan broke up with his first love, Eve found that he had gradually recovered and felt that she again had a chance to be his girlfriend. But Nathan told everyone who asked that he had put all his attention on JS International and that he didn't want to have a relationship with anyone anytime soon.

Of course, that was only an excuse he had made up. What kind of person didn't want to be loved? Even so, Eve just couldn't force Nathan to fall in love with her. In her heart, Eve thought that she knew Nathan best. If he was going to have a girlfriend or a wife one day, then she would be his best choice. No one could take Nathan away from her–of that much she was confident.

It was no doubt that it was like a knife had pierced through her heart when she had seen Mandy and Nathan walking side by side. It even looked like Nathan was taking good care of Mandy. All his tenderness and love had been poured onto her. Eve couldn't understand why this man didn't turn his head to take a look at her, just for a second!
