Chapter 305 305: Irgis City III

There were a number of things that Cole was expecting, but a dragon was not one of them, much less a fellow aspirant. Cole could feel it, just as easily as he could tell an aspirant from a denizen, this dragon was an aspirant. But weirdly enough it still gave off vibes of a denizen, it was all very confusing for Cole to say the least.

"You don't have to look so shocked human Aspirant, yours is not the first universe to get integrated into the system. So it should stand to reason that before you there has been other aspirants and after you perhaps there will be more. But we can discuss the nuances of the stem much later, I felt you the moment you stepped foot onto my island.

I have been waiting, ever since the Cradle facility came online about two weeks ago. I knew the system was in the process of swallowing up another universe. I should have known, this means I have lost valuable opportunities to gain resources and get stronger, but I guess the trials are not over yet, you come off to me as someone who's system has not been consolidated yet…..not reached level 100 have you?"

Cole did not answer, this dragon was cunning, it was fishing for information. Plus Cole would not be so stupid as to give off his true level of power, this was a dragon he was dealing with, and all of the time he has had to face one so far, Cole's killed it. Perhaps this situation would be the same if he couldn't already tell that this dragon was a lot stronger than he is….. Gold Rank X to be exact.

"I see you are a cautious one, well no matter we can work on building trust between the both of us. Please partake of the feast, it has been quite a while since I've had guests that weren't prisoners…..or a snack." Cole raised an eyebrow then he leaned back on the chair and crosse his arms.

He was under no delusion or illusion, he could not beat this dragon. Even with ridiculously overpowered skills he now had. And even with all of his buffs and advantages against enemies significantly stronger than him, this dragon would stomp him out with much effort on it's part…. the gold rank was not for show and this fucker already had a foot in the door to the diamond rank.

But be that as it may, being scared of overwhelming odds was not Cole's way of doing things. If it comes down to it, he was more than ready and willing to go toe to toe with this dragon. He would throw everything he has at it, just for a single opening, a single touch, lasting just a second if not longer would be enough for Cole to bring the red lizard down. He had a great equalizer after all…..[Sin Eater]

"What do you want? I doubt you called me here just to feed me chopped up parts of your prisoners." Cole said as he crinkled his nose in disgust, in response the dragon pushed itself forwards, its long neck and massive head crossing the entirety of the long dinner table. "How did you know? I could have sworn I prepared it well."

"I've split more blood in the last 5 months than you probably have in the last few years. You seem to have quite the cushy lifestyle. Killing is what I do, and sometimes I tend to be really messy. So I know my parts, of course you also left a foot and half a skull in that broth over there, or is it the fact you spit roasted an entire child!" By this point there was steel in Cole's voice, as he glared at the dragon's big yellow eyes without a hint of fear.

"Wow, why so serious man. that's not a child it's a gnome...I think, I'm not sure. Once you've lived for as long as I have, everyone starts looking the same to you, except of course for my precious sentinels, did you see them on your way in, so amazing….but yes, we should stay on track….. I need you to kill someone for me, or rather multiple someones."

Cole scoffed. "You're a dragon that's almost to the diamond rank and you want me to kill someone for you, what makes you think that if you cant kill this person, I would be able to do so?" Cole asked as he shook his head at the absurdity of it all.

The dragon's voice took on a hard edge, forcing Cole to take it a little seriously as his hand slowly inched towards Black Malakai's hilt. "There's not much if anything at all in the sapphire seas that I can kill, however it is divided between three other Ascendants and myself.

It's an unstable balance of power, one where if I should make a move to attack one of them, the other two would gang up to take me out, even though they're much weaker. They all would see me coming, and while those three hate themselves, the one agreement they have is that they hate me more. Plus I'm under a geas, an oath that makes it so that I can never leave the seat of power for my territory, the same with them.

So just as I've had to deal with countless assassination attempts, which is where my sentinels come from. I think it's about time I strike back at them with an assassin of my own. I need you to kill them and bring their prisms back to me, do that and I will reward you with riches beyond your widest dreams...so…..what do you say…. will you accept my quest?"

Cole raised an eyebrow, try as he might he could not figure this dragon out. He watched as the dragon pulled back, a small chuckle reverberating from the depths of its throat, it was waiting for something, perhaps Cole's answer. For a moment Cole saw its eyes get unfocused, and just as it did so, a notification popped up in front of him, a quest notification and it was from the fucking dragon! The only thing Cole could say to that was.

"How?"
