Gilbert-sama silently entered the room and slowly twisted Astaroth’s hand, which was holding my hand.

I pulled my hand back and put it on my lap. An angry Gilbert-sama is still very powerful, and I feel intimidated even if I am not shaken by the slightest thing.

“Astaroth, what are you doing?” Gilbert-sama asked

“What do you mean, I’m entertaining a pretty young lady, you can see that, can’t you?”

Astaroth, not looking particularly pained, nodded his head with a smile on his face.

“What do you think you’re doing seducing a little girl like her?”

“What are you so angry about? You made her your cleaning lady, so there is nothing wrong with me enjoying my time with her. It’s not like she’s your spouse,” Astaroth said with a completely innocent tone.

Gilbert-sama gave a small click of his tongue.

He then let go of Astaroth’s hand and turned his attention to me.

“You too, you stupid woman, after I had warned you to be careful with Astaroth.”

“Gilbert-sama, isn’t it a bit rude to make a fuss during a meal?”

Gilbert-sama is angry because he is jealous of Astaroth.

It’s heartwarming, but suddenly resorting to violence without saying hello isn’t a very interesting behavior.

It is the duty of a good companion (spouse) to admonish her husband for his bad behavior. When I warned him, he grabbed my arm and forced me to get up from the chair.

How violent!

I sighed in my heart.

Even so, Gilbert-sama is so well built that even when he grabbed my arm, his fingers were still long.

Even though he is big, his body is free of any unnecessary flesh, and every part of his body looks hard.

I had only seen him sitting down, so I couldn’t tell, but when I stood next to him, he was a head taller or more.

I think I will be a little taller when I turn 18, so I wonder if in another two years I will be just the right height to stand next to him. As I was thinking this while looking up at Gilbert-sama, his golden eyes turned toward me.

When he is in a bad mood, his pupils seem to shrink making his eyes look even more conspicuous.

“Please let me go. You don’t have to grab me so hard, I won’t run away.”

“I went to check up on you because Cronaea was making too much noise, but you weren’t in the cellar, not knowing you were here looking so friendly with this lying snake, do you even know your place?”

“I am Lydith, the cleaning lady, but whatever title I have, I am still me, and I would never disrespect Astaroth’s offer just because I am a cleaning woman.”

“Have you eaten anything?”

“Yes, I ate something called forest grizzly meat….”

Gilbert turned to Astaroth with a disgusted look on.

“You… what a wretched thing you have done.”

“It’s terrible? You may not know much about humans, but Lydith can’t live without something to eat, and unlike us, if you tear off that thin arm of hers in some way, she can’t fix it back anymore, and in the worst-case scenario, she will die. It’s so cute that she’s so proud and smart despite her fragility. You don’t want Lydith, do you, young Master? Then why don’t you let me have her?”

“Grizzly bear flesh and blood is poisonous!”

“I forgot about that”

I thought I heard poison?

Astaroth smiled, not at all apologetic.

“Even so, don’t worry, I’ll help you properly.”

He looked at the dumbfounded me and said kindly but for a moment he looked like a poisonous snake.

Somehow, I feel a tingling sensation on the tip of my tongue. Gradually, I felt numbness spread all over my body. My body became hot.

Oh, what I have done. It is said that those who become kings sometimes take a weak poison to build up resistance to poison in their bodies. I should have done the same.

If Cami-sama was going to turn back time anyway, he should have done it from the time I was born.

Clive and my brother were more careful than necessary about what they put in my mouth, so I never had the opportunity to come into contact with poison. I regret my lack of tolerance for poison.

“I was careless, I know. I didn’t know there were things I couldn’t eat. I should have just gnawed on a few Houttuynia Agaricus to satisfy everyone’s worries….”

“No, the way things are going now, you wouldn’t be wishing you’d usually ingested poison”

I heard the voice of the Creator God in my head, who was not taking this one thing into consideration right now, but I pretended I didn’t hear it.

I don’t feel any malicious intention from Astaroth toward me. Even if he intentionally gave me poisonous meat, he does not seem to have any feelings of wanting to get rid of me because I am a hindrance.

If anything, I felt that he was offering me his affection with the purity of loving a small animal.

In other words, Astaroth has a distorted and heavy affection for me, by saying that he wants to devote himself to helping Lydith, who is suffering from poison.
