Chapter 259 - Someone, please save him!

DX smiled softly as he looked down at his son, who was now yawning as if he was bored out of his mind. His long eyelashes were fluttering as he struggled to keep his eyes open.

"Wyatt, I named him after you..." DX said as he looked up at the gravestone. "I couldn't name my first two sons because of special circ.u.mstances, but this little one... "

DX patted his son's buttocks gently as he said, "This little one has been with me since his conception, so I get to properly name him."

Layla Rong and the rest looked at him with slightly shocked expressions. They knew that DX was regretful about their friend's death, but to name his son after him? They thought that it was merely a coincidence that DX named his son "Wyatt".

"Did you know about this?" Tiffany Tang leaned slightly to her left and whispered to Layla Rong.

Layla Rong shook her head and whispered back, "He has never told me about it before. And I don't think he told anyone about it."

At least, Layla Rong did not think that Kai Xin knew. Wyatt Xiang's death was a terrible thing, and it left a heavy mark on all of their lives. Layla Rong knew that DX was heavily affected by it, and that he was probably ashamed by the role he played in the event that caused Wyatt Xiang's death.

Layla Rong had never heard Kai Xin mention the name "Wyatt" prior to the birth of her son, so she doubted that the woman knew the truth behind her son's name.

But she wasn't surprised that DX chose to keep it from his wife. In fact, this might be the only thing that he kept from the woman of his life, and Layla Rong would not say anything about it. She did not want to talk about her past as well.

After all, for all of them, they were at their worst behaviors at that point in time, and DX was probably ashamed of himself as well.

"You know... No one knew Wyatt better than me," Tiffany Tang suddenly said in a soft voice. She gently caressed her son's head as she continued to talk to Layla Rong. "Wyatt did it because he wanted to. It was his nature to help people. He wouldn't want anyone to think too much about it. I really hope that XiAn can let it go soon. It has been more than 20 years, and XiAn needs to accept that it was an accident."

That trip to Paris about 20 years or so back was supposed to be a joyful event. DX forged his father's signature and took the Du Family's private plane so that he and his friends could go to Paris for a short trip.

Unfortunately, they met with a terrorist attack. And some of President Du Jin's enemies took the opportunity and sent their people down to chase DX down. As the only son and heir of President Du Jin, if they got rid of him, the Du Family's business empire would surely take a hit. At the very least, President Du Jin would not be able to remain as calm and composed as he usually was.

"That was my fault..." William murmured under his breath as he looked at DX's back. Back then, he had begged DX to take his father's private plane. His family had their own private plane, but his parents were a lot stricter than DX's parents.

Besides, his parents would hurt Tiffany Tang instead of him if they found out that he took her along. If DX was the one to take them, then William Tan's parents would not be able to say anything about Tiffany Tang.

He was angry at Wyatt Xiang and Tiffany Tang because they got together. Even worse, they actually looked good together, and there was no issue of class since they came from similar backgrounds. So, William Tan wanted to use this chance to get her back. He was going to fool around with some foreigners in front of Tiffany Tang because he was sure that she would be jealous.

He succeeded. But at an extremely huge price.

William Tan then looked at his wife, wondering what she was thinking about. He was met with her beautiful, thoughtful smile.

"No one expected it..." Tiffany Tang murmured as she smiled at her husband who was standing a distance away from her. She could read his lips and vice versa.

"Back then..."

DX's calm voice tore William Tan's eyes back to him.

"Back then, if you did not stand in front of me when I was shivering like a coward, the one who would be in the ground would be me. I'd have never met my wife or have beautiful children. All these years, I couldn't understand why you would do so. I always looked away when you were bullied, and I even picked on you a couple of times... So, why?"

DX's mind went back to that day. Before the Shenlong Family guards managed to reach him, an assassin had already found him and was pointing a gun at his head.

....

In an alleyway in Paris that day almost 20 years ago,

Young DX had stood frozen from fear then and there, unsure of what to do. There was no way for him to run, and the assassin was a distance away from him for him to do anything against him.

The sound of police cars blaring loudly in the distance as well as the loud explosions were all that Young DX could hear, as well as the screaming from the panicked public.

Suddenly, the assassin said, "Blame your father, kid..."

He then pulled the trigger.

BANG!

Young DX watched as the man pulled the trigger, and he closed his eyes while feeling sorry for his parents who were about to lose their only child.

However, that shot never reached him even after a few seconds. When he opened his eyes, a young man was in front of him.

Young DX watched as the man fell to the ground.

He was still unable to grasp the situation. When he looked up at where the assassin was, the man was on the floor, bleeding out from the various gun holes in his abdomen.

"Young Master!"

Young DX turned and saw a Shenlong Family guard on the building, and he then noticed a few of them who had their guns trained against the dead assassin, as if they were worried that the man might come back to life.

Young DX then looked down at the man in front of him, and that was when he recognized him.

"W... Wyatt..." he murmured as he slowly got down on his knees.

Wyatt Xiang had blood flowing out of his body and blood was flowing out of his mouth as well. Yet he still smiled at DX.

"Y-you... owe me..." Wyatt Xiang stuttered difficultly as blood kept filling his throat.

Young DX immediately yelled, "SOMEONE! COME! SAVE HIM! SOMEONE, PLEASE SAVE HIM!"

He took off his shirt and crumped it before pressing down on Wyatt Xiang's wound.

"He... hemo... lia..." Wyatt Xiang stuttered.

Young DX clenched his jaws. Hemophilia... Both of them knew that it would be near impossible for Wyatt Xiang to survive. Not with the roads being blocked and cars abandoned in the middle of the roads... Still, he did not stop pressing down his shirt against Wyatt Xiang's wound. Even if there was only 1% chance, he was not about to give up and let his death be in his mind forever.

Wyatt Xiang grabbed Young DX's hand weakly as he pleaded, "P-protect... Tiff..."

"F.u.c.k it! Protect her yourself!" Young DX yelled. He then glanced back at his men and yelled, "Where the f.u.c.k are the medics?!"

"They are coming!" one of his men yelled back.

Wyatt Xiang smiled, but he did not say anything. He did not have the energy to say anything else.

"NO!"

Young DX looked up and saw the rest of his friends, who were rounded up by a group of the Shenlong Family guards and protected by them. Young Tiffany Tang fell down on her knees as she cried into her hands. Even Young William Tan had a horrified expression on his face, which was scratched by shrapnel and was bleeding, but he kept strong for his younger brother and Young Tiffany Tang.

He quickly stopped Young Javier Tan, who was running toward them, and yelled at the guards who were guarding his younger brother, "TAKE HIM AWAY TO SAFETY!"

His tone was so sharp that Javier Tan stopped moving out of instinct.

He then got down on one knee in front of Tiffany Tang so that she would not have to watch Wyatt Xiang bleed to his death.

Young Phillip ran over to check on Wyatt Xiang. He might be young, but he had been trained since young. However, when he checked Wyatt Xiang's pulse, he shook his head and said in a painful voice, "It's too weak, and he's bleeding out too quickly."

Wyatt Xiang stared at Young DX and said in a soft voice, "P-protect her... P-promise..."

When Wyatt Xiang passed away in Young DX's arms before the arrival of the medics, the latter was badly traumatized.

....
