Chapter 253 - Daddy is bad!

After about 15 minutes, DX finally finished feeding and burping his son, as well as changing his son's diapers. Baby Wyatt was crying his lungs out due to the heat, so DX also changed his clothes to something lighter.

"Aww, Wyatt is so cute!" Layla cooed as she picked the baby up from DX's arms. Wyatt's lips were quivering, but at least he was no longer shouting.

"This brat..." DX sighed. He was totally exhausted from dealing with Wyatt. For some reason, Wyatt always gave him trouble. When Wyatt was with Kai Xin, he was extremely quiet and well-mannered. But the moment he was in DX's hands, he would start throwing tantrums and be difficult.

"Hey," Kai Xin growled as she slapped her husband's arm. "Don't call our baby a brat."

DX smiled. "Can you please rock him to sleep? I'm going to take him with me, and I don't want him to scream murder the entire journey. And you know how he doesn't like me."

"It's not that he doesn't like you," Kai Xin said with a chuckle as she reached for her son. "It's just that he's like his father."

Layla laughed softly as she handed Wyatt back to Kai Xin. The baby immediately smiled upon seeing his mother's face, and he yawned adorably as he rubbed his sleepy eyes with one of his gloved hands.

"Ssh..." Kai Xin cooed as she gently rocked Wyatt to sleep. She looked up at DX and said, "Go see if your daughter wants to come back yet. I think she's still playing in the back garden with Xiao Lei and Han Ye."

DX nodded. Little Monkey wanted his attention earlier, but because he had to feed Wyatt, he had to tell her no and that he would play with her later. However, the little girl had construed this as her father choosing Wyatt over her, so she pouted and ran into Han Ye's arms.

"Don't pick on Han Ye today," Kai Xin warned with a glare. Kai Xin felt that DX was slightly jealous earlier when Little Monkey ran into Han Ye's arms the moment she got angry with her father, and he might have exuded a killing intent. If not for Wyatt crying at that exact moment, DX would have gone and taken his daughter back.

Upon hearing Kai Xin's warning, DX merely stared at her for a few seconds before getting up expressionlessly. He then walked to the back garden where there was a small koi pond and a pavilion so that whenever they came for a visit, there would be a place for the grandparents and the children to relax while the able-bodied a.d.u.l.ts go around paying their respects to their ancestors.

Han Ye was sitting at the pavilion, talking with Callum, while Xiao Lei and Lu Ziyan were playing with Little Monkey by the koi pond. Xiao Lei and Little Monkey were crouching down by the pond while Lu Ziyan sat on his wheelchair right next to Little Monkey.

"Look at that fishy, Little Monkey... It's so orangey!" Xiao Lei said in a soft voice as she pointed out the brightest koi fish in the pond.

Little Monkey looked at where Xiao Lei was pointing. When she saw the bright orange and white koi fish, she shrieked and said excitedly, "Touch it! Touch it!"

She placed a hand on a huge stone in front of her as she reached out to try to touch the fish, but Lu Ziyan put a hand on her shoulder and pulled her back softly.

"It's dangerous, Little Monkey. Don't do that," he said softly when Little Monkey turned to look at him with a curious expression.

Little Monkey stood up straight. She pouted while looking at him with her bright, beautiful eyes. "No?"

"It's dangerous. What if you fall down?" Lu Ziyan asked. "Let the fishy swim freely. You won't want someone to stop you when you are playing right?"

Little Monkey glanced back at the fish, and after a while, she turned back to Lu Ziyan and nodded. "Little Monkey is good," she said as she looked at Lu Ziyan. She then turned to Xiao Lei and repeated it with a serious expression.

"Yeah, Little Monkey is the best," Xiao Lei said as she patted the little girl's head. After what happened the last time they met, Xiao Lei thought that Little Monkey would ignore her. Perhaps children were more forgiving, or perhaps they were more forgetful, but either way, Little Monkey kept talking to Xiao Lei and pointing things out to her, asking her to explain what they were.

"But Daddy doesn't want me 'nymore. He has Y-at now," Little Monkey said with a pout. She crouched down again and started drawing circles on the sandy ground while wearing the saddest expression she could muster.

"What?" Xiao Lei chuckled softly. "Of course your daddy wants you. He loves you."

The little girl shook her head sadly. "Daddy no hug me ny'more."

Xiao Lei exchanged glances with Lu Ziyan. They both figured out what Little Monkey was feeling now.

Lu Ziyan chuckled and reached out to pick the little girl up. Once he placed her on his lap, he said, "Little Monkey, your Daddy loves you a lot! It's just that Wyatt is still a baby... He can't do anything by himself yet, so he needs a lot of help and attention now. And your Mummy is still recovering at the moment, so she has to rest more, that's why your Daddy is spending more time taking care of Wyatt."

"But Daddy never said no..." Little Monkey sighed with tears lingering in her big eyes.

"Little Monkey..." a deep, hoarse voice suddenly sounded from behind them.

The trio turned and saw DX standing there with a slightly guilty expression. Without saying a word to the a.d.u.l.ts, DX picked Little Monkey up and placed a kiss on her forehead. "My little princess, I'm sorry about earlier. I shouldn't tell you to go play by yourself first..."

Little Monkey looked away from him, seemingly hurt.

DX smiled and thought, "She's very much her mother..."

He then placed his hands under her armpits and smirked, "3, 2, 1."

When he threw Little Monkey up high, the little girl shrieked from excitement, and when he caught her, she yelled, "Again! Again!"

DX did it two more times. Only when Little Monkey was no longer upset with him did he stop to talk to her. "Little Monkey, Daddy has to take care of Wyatt earlier. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."

"Daddy is bad!" Little Monkey frowned.

"Yes, I know... But can you forgive me, please, my dear little princess?" DX asked with a loving tone. He then kissed her cheeks, one at a time, as he said, "I won't stop kissing you until you say you'll forgive me."

At first, Little Monkey was still feeling upset, but after three kisses, she started giggling and pushing her father's face away as she shrieked, "No more! No!"

When her father stopped attacking her with kisses, she wrapped her tiny arms around his neck and kissed him back. "I love you, Daddy."

"I love you too, my little princess..." he whispered with a smile on his face. Now that Little Monkey was feeling better, he said, "Daddy has to take Wyatt to meet someone later. Do you want to come with me?"

"Who?"

"Just an old friend," DX said.

Little Monkey c.o.c.ked her head for a few seconds before shaking it vigorously. "No. Want to play with Xiao Lei..."
