Chapter 136 - Du Mansion Party (2)

Inside the room that was as big as the apartment where they were staying, there were all kinds of gaming equipment. The walls were decorated with posters of famous games for the past century, and at a corner, there were all kinds of candies waiting to be devoured by the children.

"Shoot him! Shoot him!"

The cheers of the other kids caught his attention, and Xiao Zhihao turned to one side where four huge flat-screen TVs were perched on the wall. On each screen, there was a human character who was trying to shoot the others.

"Lyle! Come on!"

"Jack! Beat your brother's a*s!"

Xiao Zhihao followed Tian Le as they squeezed through the crowd.

Jack and Lyle were leading opposing teams in a team-based shooting game. Not only did they need to look out for each other, but they also had to look out for the monsters. Jack was teamed up with a boy, while Lyle teamed up with Alex. The four were on Omni machines and was running while dodging the occasional laser bullets.

"Shoot, Alex!" Lyle yelled as he ran on the Omni machine while glancing back occasionally to look over his shoulder. He shot at a monster that was jumping out of a bush before he yelled, "Jack's there! Your right! Your right!"

"Shut up!" Alex yelled as she dodged a laser beam shot by Jack. She then turned back and sent a few rounds of electric-charged bullets toward the character Jack was controlling before bombing a swarm of monsters that was heading her way. "F*ck this game! It's too hard!"

"Language, Alex!" Lyle yelled disapprovingly as he tried to cover his best friend's a*s. "Right! Right side!"

"Argh!" Alex turned and managed to shoot Jack's teammate. When the screen showed "Blue 2, Out!", she jumped up in joy. "Yeah, f*ck you, Bl-"

Before she could finish her words, suddenly, her character fell to the ground and a second later, the screen showed, "Red 2, Out!"

Alex cursed as she ripped off her VR headset. Once she unbuckled herself from the Omni machine, She then stomped over to where Jack was and yelled, "You jerk! I was celebrating!"

Even though Jack was focusing on the game, he still managed to hear what she said. So, he smirked and sneered, "Too bad you suck!"

He was about to win the game. His brother kept covering Alex's a*s, causing him to be low on health. And as expected, within less than 2 minutes, the game concluded with "Congratulations, Blue Team!"

The teenagers who were cheering for Blue Team started to yell loudly as they booed at those who supported the Blue Team.

Annoyed, Lyle ripped off the VR headset and unbuckled himself from the Omni machine. "Alex, I told you to stay calm while playing games! Why did you shoot me so many times in the beginning?! We could have won if you didn't shoot half my life away!"

Alex stuck her tongue out at him before she walked out of the room.

Lyle groaned while Jack snickered at him. They had taken off their gears to let others have a go at the game.

"Oh, Tian Le!" Lyle called out when he saw Tian Le walking toward him and Jack from the corner of his eye. When he saw Xiao Zhihao standing next to the older teenager, Lyle smiled and said, "You came! I thought you wouldn't come."

"Hi, Young Master Lyle," Xiao Zhihao said.

"Just call me Lyle. You're not my servants," Lyle said as they walked to a quieter corner. "Have you eaten?"

Xiao Zhihao shook his head. He glanced at the food table and sighed. "There are only candies here."

"Yeah... Gaming needs sugar for fuel. We can go to the garden, but before that," Lyle looked at Xiao Zhihao and said, "I need to talk to you. Let's go to the theatre room. It's a lot quieter there."

"You have a theatre room?"

Lyle smiled. "Dad likes his comfort. Let's go."

Unsure of what to do, Xiao Zhihao glanced at Tian Le. The latter laughed and said, "He won't hurt you."

Tian Le then turned to Jack. "You think you're so great, huh? Let's have a go!"

He placed an arm around Jack and dragged him toward an area where people were playing an F1 simulator game. As for Xiao Zhihao, he followed Lyle out of the room.

....

Meanwhile, Xiao Lei had found her way to the West Garden. Not knowing anyone here, she was not sure of what to do. And so, there was only one thing she could do.

Eat!

When she saw the amount of food on the buffet table, she immediately went over to grab a plate.

"Once Han Ye is here, I'd have to work. Better eat now!" she thought as she walked around the buffet table.

She picked the biggest plate she could find before piling on different kinds of food. When it was so heavy that she could barely pick it up, she went to stand at a small round bar table and proceeded to devour everything.

"Holy... Did that woman just eat an entire plate of food? Most of which were meat?" a young man dressed in white tuxedo asked while he stared at Xiao Lei from his bar table, which was a distance away.

"Ha! Must be someone's mistress. Look at that tacky, cheap dress!" a blonde-haired man sneered as he sipped from his glass of red wine. "I would never bring someone like that out, much less to President Du's house."

"Could be someone who likes to eat."

"Who cares... I wouldn't want a wife who eats like a pig."

The first man snickered. "Not as if any women would want you."

"You!"

The men bickered among themselves while drinking themselves stupid.

Meanwhile, standing right behind Xiao Lei, a bunch of women was talking about someone else.

"Did you see CEO Wu's new wife?" a brown-haired woman said while playing with her diamond necklace.

"You mean that village girl? She's so plain compared to him!" asked her friend, who wore a white qipao with gold phoenix embroidered on it. She was also wearing pearl pins all over her styled-up hair, making her looked like an elegant princess. "I can't believe he rejected my cousin only to marry that kind of woman!"

"Such a gold digger... "

"Let's go play with her? I think CEO Wu is talking to CEO Dong inside the mansion," the white-qipao woman said with an evil grin.

After they left, Xiao Lei thought about the matter as she continued to stuff roast pork into her mouth.

"Can't just let them be... " Xiao Lei thought before she placed a small bite-sized New York cheesecake into her mouth. "I need to walk around and get my digestion moving..."
