Chapter 95 - You're drunk

When Lu Ziyan found "Hubby", he pressed "Call". No one picked up even after a few minutes of ringing.

He tried three more times, and on the last try, someone finally picked up.

Before Lu Ziyan could even say anything, a man yelled through the phone, "So annoying! I told you not to call me at night, didn't I?!"

"Mr. Ou..."

Someone interrupted Lu Ziyan before he could say anything else. "Who's that?"

Lu Ziyan recognized that it was a woman's voice in the background. With a frown, he quickly hung up. His clenched his fingers hand around the phone angrily as he frowned.

He glanced at An Xin and wondered if her husband flaunted his affair in her face.

"Why is she so calm?" he thought angrily.

He then called her mother-in-law. He couldn't find her mother-in-law's name at first. After scrolling through the contact list twice, he found out that she had set her mother-in-law's name as Crazy Dowager.

When the call connected, Lu Ziyan asked politely, "Hi, is this An Xin's mother-in-law?"

"Who's this? Why do you have her phone?"

"Hi, Mrs. Ou. I'm a friend of An Xin. She's not feeling well, can you please send someone to pick her up?"

The old woman laughed. "Better if she dies outside! A useless woman like that shouldn't have been allowed in our home!"

"Mrs. Ou, you shouldn't say stuff like that," Lu Ziyan said; his voice trembled a little as if he had a hard time controlling his temper.

"Either you send her back yourself, or just leave her there. I don't care!" the woman yelled before she hung up.

Lu Ziyan frowned as he looked at An Xin's phone. He then looked at the woman, who was sitting next to him and still eating, and thought, "Is this what it has been like since she got married?"

As if she were sober, An Xin looked at the third chicken wings she was eating and said in a serious tone, "No one's coming, right?"

When Lu Ziyan did not answer her, she chuckled. She then turned to him and smiled as she said, "I should have placed a bet on this. I would have won."

Lu Ziyan placed her phone on the table and asked, "Do you have anywhere else to go?"

"My parents' house… But I don't feel like seeing them now. They ask too many questions…" She thought for a moment before saying, "I guess I'd be staying at a hotel again…"

"Again?"

"Hotel W is pretty nice. It's a bit expensive, but I can afford it. Rich husband, yo…" she said with an unconvincing tone. She pulled out a credit card and murmured, "Might as well use it before he gives it to the other woman."

Lu Ziyan glanced at the credit card briefly before he asked in a soft voice, "Would you like to go to your sister's or brother's house?"

"No!" An Xin replied sharply. She frowned and turned back to her beer. "I don't want them to see me in this state. Please don't mind me anymore and just leave."

"You're drunk. I can't just leave you like this…"

Suddenly, she burst out in tears as she said, "No one's doing what I want... *hiccup*... I just want to drink alone..."

She stuffed all the leftover fried intestine into her mouth before she mumbled, "Jek... All men grah jerks..."

Lu Ziyan sighed. "I'll send you to the hotel then..."

"No..." An Xin tried to push him away but she was seeing double at this point and did not realize that she was trying to push his image. When she leaned forward to push him, she fell down.

Thankfully, he managed to catch her before she hit the ground with her face. However, her knees still hit the ground and she cried out in pain.

"An Xin! Are you alright?" Lu Ziyan asked worriedly as An Xin sat on the floor and rubbed her bruised knees.

"I just want to drink in peace..." An Xin murmured in a soft voice. Within the time of a split second, she started crying loudly. "Why did this happen to me?! I hate everyone! I hate everyone!"

"An Xin..."

"I'm a capable woman! What's so good about her? Why's he leaving me for her?!" An Xin cried as she stomped her feet on the ground like a spoiled toddler. It was totally unlike her, and Lu Ziyan was confused as to what he should do next.

He wanted to hug her, but... they were in a public area, and she was a married woman. In the end, he merely let her be. It would be good for her to release her frustration rather than let it pent up.

The owner heard the commotion and came out, but when she saw Lu Ziyan shaking his head, she went back into the restaurant."

Lu Ziyan watched as An Xin wrapped her arms around her knees and continued to cry. Her cries were softer this time as she cried into her knees.

An Xin was angry at everyone right now, and she kept cursing in her heart. She was angry because no matter how hard she tried, she felt as if she would never be anyone's favorite.

Suddenly, she felt someone patting her head, and when she looked up, she saw Lu Ziyan smiling at her.

"There... Just cry your heart out. I told the owner to close this section off, so no one would be able to see you cry."

An Xin sniffled as she looked at him. Suddenly embarrassed by her own childish outburst, she wiped her tears away with her sleeves before she stood up. Once she sat back down on her seat, she murmured, "I'm sorry you had to see that... I'm not usually so emotional..."

"I know..." he said as he poured himself a glass of beer. He then downed the entire glass at one go. "It's been a while since I drank."

He then gave her a wry grin. "Isn't it funny? A bar owner who doesn't drink daily..."

When he noticed that An Xin was looking at him with a curious glance, Lu Ziyan smiled and said in a gentle voice, "Don't worry about others. You're a great woman..."

An Xin looked into his eyes, and all of a sudden, she suddenly blushed and turned away. Confused by her own reaction, she then picked up the last bottle of beer and drank it.

"Hey, stop..." Lu Ziyan said worriedly. He reached out to stop her, but in the end, he stopped himself as he thought, "Let her drink today... She must have been badly hurt today."

20 minutes later, An Xin drunkenly stumbled out of the restaurant while Lu Ziyan wheeled himself next to her.

When he noticed that she was about to walk away, he quickly wheeled himself to her and took her hand. "I've called for a cab. We will wait here."

An Xin, who was completely wasted, giggled and sat on Lu Ziyan's lap. She smiled drunkenly as she whispered to his ear, "Can you go fast?"

With a grin, Lu Ziyan raised a brow. "Maybe?"

"Take me out for a few rounds..."
