Chapter 94 - Lu Lu?

Upon hearing someone calling her name, Zhen An Xin turned around to look at the person who had just called her.

With her alcohol-induced red cheeks, she squinted. When she recognized the person, for some reason, instead of talking normally, she whispered, "Mr. Lu?"

Looking at her reddened cheeks and dazed expression, Lu Ziyan chuckled and wheeled himself closer to her. When he was sitting right next to her, he asked, "That's a lot of alcohol. Are you waiting for someone?"

She looked at the bottles of beers on her table and shook her head. "Mine…"

"Why are you drinking so much on a Sunday night? Shouldn't you be with your husband?" he asked while he glanced at the amount of food on the table.

An Xin gave him a drunken smile and placed a finger on his lips as she said in a hushed tone, "Sshhh… Don't tell anyone, but my husband is with his mistress now…"

"What?" Lu Ziyan gasped. "What are you talking about?"

"It's been like that for almost a year…" An Xin laughed sadly. She then poured herself another serving of beer and drank it in one shot before she smiled at Lu Ziyan. "Mr. Lu… Why are men such horrible creatures?"

"Men are not…" was what he wanted to say, but in the end, he said, "I am not."

An Xin scoffed in disbelief. As she ate a piece of fried pork intestine, she said, "He said he loved me… He vowed to be with me forever… But he still fell for another one."

"She's obviously drunk..." thought Lu Ziyan. Otherwise, there was no way she would tell someone she barely knew such a private thing. He then asked, "What about your in-laws? Did you talk to them?"

An Xin laughed bitterly. "My in-laws? They won't even glance at me."

"Why not?"

She placed a hand on Lu Ziyan's shoulder and smiled as she said, "Mr. Lu Ziyan… I can't have babies…"

Lu Ziyan's right hand that was resting on his right thigh started clenching his thigh upon hearing her words. "What?"

"I can't have babies… Or maybe he can't… Who knows… I'm the woman, so I must be at fault…" she said with a sad smile as she recalled back to the fight with her husband the other night. He had blamed her for not being pregnant when her older sister was about to give birth to her second child.

Harsh words had been spoken, and when she could no longer take it and asked for a medical checkup, he had scoffed at her and told her that since his mistress was pregnant, then the fault would be at An Xin.

Since then, he had been staying over at the apartment that he bought for his mistress.

With a loud sigh, An Xin rested her chin on her palm and poured herself another serving of beer. There was currently no filter on her mind as she mumbled, "They said Kai Xin is so much better… She fought through her past and won a good husband. Dad's so proud of her… He's always talking about her… Mum keeps saying that I'm not good enough… I thought, at least my husband would be fine with me, but even he said I'm not good enough… I'm not seductive enough… I can't give him a child… I can't get President Du to talk to him... "

"It's not that I don't want to help him... I can't mix work with my personal life..." she continued to mumble while Lu Ziyan remained silent.

A tear fell from the corner of her eyes and she wiped them off as she murmured, "They all want so much…"

Lu Ziyan sighed. He had never talked much with An Xin before. To repair their relationship as well as to give Little Monkey a grandfather, Kai Xin did her best to forgive her father for ignoring her when she was growing up. She would often invite her father and his extended family whenever there was a big gathering or celebration, like birthdays or Chinese New Year.

During these occasions, Lu Ziyan and An Xin would briefly chat with each other. They would mostly talk about the weather and politics, but never private matters.

However, Lu Ziyan remembered that the last time he saw An Xin at Du Mansion, the latter was still lovey-dovey with her husband.

"Was that a false front?" Lu Ziyan thought as he looked at the woman who was currently downing down half a bottle of beer. He shook his head and said, "You can really drink…"

"Drinking drowns your sorrow…" An Xin murmured before she started to hiccup. "Oh no! It's *hiccup* here!"

She then giggled before she bit into a fried chicken wing. After one bite, she giggled and shoved the fried chicken wing that she bit into earlier to Lu Ziyan. "Eat, Mr. Lu. This place's chicken wing is sooooo goood."

Lu Ziyan was about to reject it when he saw her sad face. He then smiled and accepted the chicken wing. "Thanks, An Xin."

She frowned and wagged a finger in front of his nose. "Why are you calling me An Xin?"

Chuckling, he caught her finger and said, "Cause I don't want to call you Mrs."

Not understanding the meaning behind his words, An Xin chuckled. "Then I won't call you Mr. anymore. Er... *hiccup*... Lu Lu? Yan Yan?"

"Ziyan."

"Ziyan… Such a pretty name…" she murmured. She then placed her oily hand on his face and murmured, "Such a pretty face…"

Even though he was a little gross out with her oily hand touching his face, Lu Ziyan did not move away. Instead, he stared into her teary eyes. A warm feeling surged within him, and he felt uncomfortable.

Before this, he had thought that she was quite pretty, but because she was married, he did not think too much into it and never acted on his emotion. Furthermore, she was Kai Xin's younger sister, and given that the relationship between the two was bad, he did not dare to say anything.

But now... Knowing that she was mistreated by her husband, Lu Ziyan felt a little angry deep inside. His hand reached up slowly. He wanted to touch her too, but at the last minute, he put his hand back down on his wheelchair.

"No..." Lu Ziyan thought as he shook his head. No matter what, she was still a married woman.

"Let me call your husband…" Lu Ziyan said gruffly and he reached over to pick up her phone that was on the table.

"He won't come…" An Xin muttered in a dry tone before she continued back to eating her food. "Besides, it's *hiccup* password protected."

"Easy." Lu Ziyan placed the phone in front of An Xin's face and once it was unlocked, he scrolled through her contact list.

"Hey..." An Xin protested but she did not do much. In her heart, she still hoped that if her husband heard a man's voice, he would come and get her. Even if her husband was mean to her, she was still in love with him, and she still wanted him to care for her like what he did before.
