Chapter 38 - I'm very mature!

As for the baby within Kai Xin's belly, he seemed to respond to his sister's touches and would kick every now and then. The movement would cause Little Monkey to chuckle as if it was the most interesting thing in her world.

By the time Little Monkey had drunk half of the milk, Jack came down. Instead of wearing a suit like his brother, he was wearing a pair of ripped black skinny jeans, a grey beanie, and a black leather jacket. Compared to his older brother's gentlemanly look, Jack looked like a biker who was ready to go out and create havoc.

The first thing that came out of Kai Xin's mouth upon seeing her son was a long sigh. "I'm too young to be a grandmother, Jack."

She could not help it. If she were a teenage girl, she might… Well, actually, she never cared much for a guy's appearance when she was thirteen since she was surrounded by good looking guys growing up. Furthermore, she did not really care much for a guy in the first place. However, she knew from her best friend, Jane, that girls liked this kind of bad boys.

Jack thought that his mother was joking and merely smirked. "Don't worry. Dad had THE talk with us. Protection."

Even though everyone was uncomfortable with it, DX was very thorough with his talk. As if he was very proud of his understanding of what happened between a man and a woman when they were in love, he gave his mother a thumbs-up.

Instead of being relieved, Kai Xin replied with a dry tone, "Screw protection."

When her son frowned, she scowled and narrowed her eyes at him.

"You guys are 13 years old. No girls for now, and definitely none of the hanky panky stuff. Your dad told you guys about," she closed her daughter's ears before continuing, "those things to make sure that no one will take advantage of you guys and so that you guys won't get embarrassed when you know... morning problem... but I don't approve of you guys dating before you are old enough."

"But, Mum! I'm very mature!" Jack protested.

"Still no!"

Still drinking from her milk bottle, Little Monkey glanced at her mother and then she looked at her brother. She pulled her milk bottle out from her mouth before she imitated her mother's voice and said, "No girls!"

Lyle and Han Ye glanced at each other before they both laughed out loud. Jack had been discovering girls recently, and his discovery had given both DX and Kai Xin headaches. It was not that they really disapproved of him dating, but Jack was still young, and they doubted that Jack was ready for a relationship.

It would be fine if, by dating, he meant holding hands and kissing. It would not be as fine if a girl suddenly came over and said that she was pregnant with his son. Jack was unlike his older brother or his father. If anything, Jack's personality was more like his Uncle Callum. Both of them were too kind, and it would be too easy if someone tried to take advantage of them.

"Don't worry, Mum. With me there, he won't be getting any girls," Lyle said as he stood up. He went over and kissed his mother on her forehead and did the same for his little sister. Then he said, "We will be back around 11 p.m. latest. Don't wait up if you're tired."

Kai Xin nodded. She felt relieved that Lyle would be there. Lyle had a clear head above his shoulder and he knew the consequences better than his brother. So, she merely looked at Lyle and replied, "Have fun and take care of your brother. Make sure that no one drinks!"

They were going to a party at the house of one of their rich friends, which meant that there was a high possibility of the kid's parents storing alcohol somewhere in their house.

Lyle nodded before he turned around.

As he followed behind his brother, Jack frowned and folded his arms while complaining, "We have almost similar features, but I don't know why the girls always go to you first! I'm cute, I'm hot, and like what Uncle Callum said, I have got the whole package!"

Lyle laughed softly and wrapped an arm around his brother's neck before saying, "Isn't it easy t to tell? Because I look manlier and I have the aura of a great man."

He joked but he knew better. The girls at their school sidled up to him because he was the first-born son, which meant that he was set to inherit the Du Family's fortune. If those girls knew that his father had no intention of making him the heir just because he was the first-born son, no doubt half of them would flock to Jack.

He might have overthought it, but he doubted that he was wrong. Even if those girls might not have had the intention, but Lyle was sure that the girls did not hover around him and his brother because they liked them. The twins, Lyle especially, were quite cold and aloof to those who were not their friends.

Their parents most likely pushed them and told them to be the friends of the Du Brothers.

Lyle would do anything to fend those girls away from his younger brother. Having seen the relationship between their parents, he knew that Jack was eager to find someone.

Lyle did not want his brother to get hurt by girls who might use him to their own advantage. To him, the only one who could make Jack cry was him. Well, him and their godsister, Quinn, who was currently in the United States with her mothers.
