Chapter 317 - The Waiting

"To make the long story short, the woman who was trapped in the restroom is the boss' wife. You had messed with the wrong family and that is why you are here today," Gao Rou said while emitting a powerful aura.

He was sitting on a chair and in between them, was a small round table where Gao Rou's hand's rested before resuming, "Kid, you are a skilled boy, but no matter how good you are, if you waste your talent doing wrong, you will end up dead or in prison. I have  a proposition for you and you better consider it well."

"Join my team. I'll pay you well and the job is honorable! Your time will be free so long as you finish your task… And don't think you can outsmart us. You see, you are no match for The White Angel and he did a good job of screwing you just hours ago."

Luis was stunned, to say the least. He had heard of The White Angel. The inventor of the greatest security system ever known in Asia, making the Royal Dragon Company on top of the Industry. He recalled that as of recently, most companies from Europe and even the Americas have started to secure the said system.

He has yet to come across of the said program. Fortunately for him, the Peninsula Hotel did not see a need to use such an advanced and sophisticated security system. He was able to penetrate property's server with only moderate difficulty.

"Are - are you saying that the White Angel is on your side?"

"He sides with the right. He decides who to work for so long as he knows it is for the good. Something you should be doing as well. Don't you think?" Gao Rou said while lifting his chin up to him.

Luis was pondering over the idea but soon spoke, "If you say The White Angel is that good, then let me have a try at his program. If he is really such an excellent person, then I would like to learn from him. I will be loyal to him."

Gao Rou gave a smirk. He stepped outside to report to Li Wen and moments later; he came back with a laptop. He said, "Here. Give it a try. It's already connected to our network."

He let his men untie Luis's hands and left in him the room to get started.

The next day, Luis requested for Gao Rou. However, since he was at the office, it was already late in the afternoon when they spoke.

Walking inside the hacker's chambers he asked, "So did you even break the first firewall? Haha!"

Gao Rou went laughing, seeing the dark circles in his eyes. He knew, base on his dismayed face, he had a sleepless night without any fruits to his hard work.

"Very funny," Luis said. "I am in. I am with you."

"I reckoned this would happen. You had to make it difficult for yourself," He grabbed a chair next to the table where Luis sat and began his interrogation.

"Tell me what you know about who hired you - "

"I don't know much, but I was able to find the location through the IP address that often sent me instructions… It came from a residential home in the US," Luis answered.

Before he went on, he saw Gao Rou look at the cameras and said, "Are you hearing this?"

He saw the camera move up and down, suggesting an agreement. Gao Rou then explained saying, "It's The White Angel. He had been watching you ever since… Go ahead and give me the address."

Luis gulped and recognized that he made the right decision.

While Gao Rou and Li Wen were extracting all the information they could get from Luis, Lu Fang, Andrea and Hanxi had just arrived at the mansion. They had earlier picked up the children from the old Lu residence before heading home.

She had stayed in the hospital for three days. The waiting frustrated her, but she knew her husband only wanted to make sure she was in complete health before leaving. She felt fine. Surely, there was nothing wrong with her.

The moment they arrived, Andrea took over taking care of Angela and rested in the living room. The man watched as his wife carried their youngest, holding her tight as if she feared to lose her. "It's okay, babe. Everything will be fine soon. All of this is just a test that we have to surpass."

She smiled hearing her husband's words and turned to him saying, "Why are you so wise?"

Lu Fang sat beside her and leaned closer. He put an arm around her and answered, "I have every reason to be."

"Finally, you are back. I was worried sick," Aunt Rosa came from the kitchen, giving the twins kisses on the cheeks. She then came to Andrea and hugged her lightly from the side.

She let out a heavy sigh before saying, "No matter what, child. Regardless of what hurdles you both face, we will stay behind you to help. Don't ever feel like giving up."

Aunt Rosa never fully understood Andrea's misfortunes. However, she figured, if the Lus accepted her, then her heart must be good enough to belong as a Lu.

Eventually, after following the clues and the pieces of evidence. They were able to narrow it down to Michael Song. Luis was contacted by someone from his residence in the US, he lured Lu Fang and Andrea to the hotel and he mysteriously left after that day. It could only be him.

They waited for Michael Song to make a move, but he did not. Weeks passed and still, he did not come at them nor did he return to China.

Andrea was walking back and forth in the living room with her husband sitting on the couch and Hanxi was drinking coffee. "I don't understand. Why stir us and all of a sudden be quiet. It's like he is making us wait… but for what? It did not even bother him that he lost his hacker."

"Sis, maybe he quit! Maybe he realized he should not mess with us?" Hanxi said as he placed down his cup on the coffee table.

"Still, we are constantly monitoring him and have already infiltrated most of his laboratories," said Lu Fang while in deep thought.

Darwin was only able to identify the contents of the syringe two weeks ago. He said it was a human fluid of one that has a Kimya Disease. In Swahili, it meant Silent Disease. There was not much information about the disease except for its symptoms and the fact that only develops in adult women in their 30s.

The illness would slowly affect one's electrolytes, resulting in diarrhea and inflammation in the blood vessels. Death is the end result.

Darwin suggested observing Andrea's condition for now while they do further research. However, a month had gone by and his wife had been doing well. Every week, he had her electrolytes checked, and it was all normal.

He let himself be at ease thinking, they were not able to inject his wife.

THUD! He saw Andrea fall into the floor. She would have hit her head if not for her arms landing in the same place.

"Andy! Andy! No, babe. No!" Lu Fang, hurriedly carried her in her arms and he watched Hanxi rush outside. He knew he was getting the car ready.
