Chapter 316 - Eagle's Eyes

Within Peninsula Hotel, a self-made hacker from the US was working his hands to secure all the data he stole from the hotel's server.

He called himself the Egle's Eyes. He was one of the most sought for hackers in Northern America. He was purposely brought to China to infiltrate the hotel's system. He was also told to do the same with Lu-Wei Enterprises and the Lu Residence's security system.

He had already completed the task of hacking the hotel and he was about to get started with Lu-Wei Enterprises.

"Okay, let me just transfer all the videos here," he was talking to himself as he did his work, moving from one laptop to another.

Soon, he was moving his head to the tune played on his spotify, occasionally swaying his hands and singing.

"Despacito

Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito

Deja que te diga cosas al oído

Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo..."

He was an aspiring singer, and he loved Luis Fonsi.

"Despacito

Quiero desnudarte a besos despacito

Firmo en las paredes de tu laberinto

Y hacer de tu cuerpo todo un manuscrito"

He was smiling and enjoying his music, not realizing one of his laptop's camera had already been turned on. Someone was watching him as he worked and danced.

Towards the end of the song, he stood up and sang emotionally with his hands raised, swaying.

"Pasito a pasito, suave suavecito

Nos vamos pegando, poquito a poquito

Hasta provocar tus gritos

Y que olvides tu apellido

Despacito"

As he said the very last word, his head was raised up to the ceiling while his eyes closed. When he breathed in, he went to look back at his laptop and immediately gave a frown. His screen was blank.

He walked towards it and moved the mouse, but his screen remained blank. He pressed on multiple keys, but nothing happened. His screen was dark as night. He tried to turn it on and off, but his efforts were all in vain.

He started to feel nervous that he could hear his heart beating. Seconds passed, and he thought he smelled something burning.

"Ahh! What the - F**k!" His laptops eventually overheated, crashing tragically before his eyes. "No! What the f**k is going on? No! My babies! My work!"

He was cursing out his frustrations that he did not realize, it also affected his logic.

While he was crying in despair, the hotel room's phone began to ring and the moment he picked it up, someone spoke, "You have been found out. Leave the hotel now, a black sedan is waiting for you at the front. Bring all the pieces of evidence with you and do not leave anything behind."

The line got disconnected quickly. He was having second thoughts about whether to follow the voice, but if he doesn't, he may actually get caught. When he made the decision, he immediately grabbed all his belongings and vital documents. He hastily left his room in a panic that it took him only fifteen minutes to reach the lobby.

Outside the hotel, he saw a man raising his hand at him, standing behind a black sedan and gestured for him to come inside. He gulped, wondering if it was right for him to hop in the vehicle. Till this very day, his employer remained anonymous and had merely given him instructions through the email or by phone.

That was usually the case for most of his jobs. So long as he got paid, he was cool with the arrangement.

He reluctantly walked towards the car, studying carefully the faces of the men next to the sedan. One was opening the door for him and one was by the driver's side, ready to get inside the car.

"You there! Stay put!" He saw the hotel security called him out from the lobby and that eventually prompted him to get on the car while carrying his bags.

"Let's go! Hurry! Let's go!" The hacker yelled at the driver for the fear of being caught. As soon as he and the other men went inside the car, they drove off speedily away from the Peninsula Hotel.

He looked at the back window of the car and saw the security tried to run after them, but the driver of the sedan did a fantastic job of maneuvering in between cars, eventually disappearing within the hotel's property.

He let out a heavy sigh knowing that they were already far from the hotel. He turned to the driver and said, "Gracias! Excelente! Your driving is perfect!"

"Ah, you speak Spanish? Me too. I am from Mexico," said the driver. "My name is Juan. What about you?

"That's great! I am Perto Rican but I grew up in the US," said the hacker. "I don't give out my name."

"Ah. That is okay. Please, enjoy the ride until we will reach our destination," said Juan.

Settling his things, the hacker asked, "So where are we going?"

"We will go to a secret place where it is safe for you to hide," it was the other man next to Juan who replied this time.

The hacker nodded before pursing his lips. He looked at both of them again, but saw there was no uneasiness between them. He then felt he was in a good place. He told himself, 'My employer must have sent them.'

On the road up ahead, where there was very little structure or people around, they made a quick stop, and he noticed the two men in front took out a gas mask. As they put it on he asked, "What are you doing?"

"Don't worry, we are just going to put you to sleep," said the man next to Juan before opening a can of sleeping gas.

The hacker tried to resist, and he tried to push open the door, but it was of no use. He was powerless to the effect of the gas.

When he woke up, he was already in a room with his hands tied behind his back and in front of him was a man he did not know.

"Hello, Luis. How are you?" It was Gao Rou, greeting him.

As soon as the hacker had arrived, Gao Rou had immediately checked his belongings and found proof of his actual name.  However, since he was a known hacker, he had it sent to Li Wen for further digging. Eventually, she was able to confirm that his name was, in fact, Luis Lopez.

"Who are you? Where am I? Why have you brought me here?" Luis asked in anguish.

Gao Rou gave him a sarcastic laugh before saying, "You seem to be forgetting your reason for coming to China." He leaned forward to face him and gave him an evil grin. "Let me remind you again. Shall I?"
