Chapter 243 - Won her Entire Family

Lu Fang could not understand how Global China continued to have unsolved financial mysteries. Andrea was still pregnant that they had figured out there was a thief within the company. Coming back after finding his wife, the situation seemed to have recurred.

From the center of Guangzhou, he and Bolin drove to the boarders, nearing Shenzhen, hoping to single out the problem, personally. Since the man ensured to have his security team with him, they drove in two cars. Global China's CFO, Megan Wong was in another car with her assistant.

Megan tried to stop him from going to the project location, saying it was too bothersome for the man. However, he could not simply watch his investment fall apart. Not when his family is growing, and not when his own wife is a shareholder of the said company.

When they arrived at the site, Lu Fang immediately went to its miniature office and what he was made his aura turn cold. The books of account for the project were made ready for him, including the purchase slips of every material spent on the construction and miscellaneous expenses.

His eyes thinned at each and everyone present in the office and as he turned his gaze to Megan, his eyelids nearly shut in anger.

"I told you specifically not to warm them of my arrival," The man raised his voice at Megan.

"Mr. Lu, I'm very sorry about this, but I just did not want you to go through so much trouble of digging for the information when we have people who can do it for you," she tried to reason with him.

Without saying a word to her, the man turned to Bolin and instructed, "Review these files while I look around."

As he inspected the location, the man realized the materials being used were not what they agreed in the contract. "Typical," he murmured to himself. He concluded he needed to hire externally to audit the project.

Megan came to follow him and saw what he was looking at earlier. She reacted in shock defending herself, "Mr. Lu, I swear. I had no idea. I can't believe they would do this to me."

The man saw her crying, but he gave her no reaction, not even sympathy. He had more important matters to attend to.

As he was walking back to the office, the man received a call from his wife making him turn in a different direction, finding a quiet space.

Megan's eyes followed Lu Fang, and she witnessed how the cold man turned soft after taking the call, even chuckling. She wondered if it was the woman he called his wife, yet never married her in public.

She pursed her lips, refusing to believe it. It was just two months ago when she heard from Pie Liqin that they were having problems. She asked herself silently, 'Is it possible he is having an affair?'

She established that she needed to be careful with Lu Fang and gain his trust first. She was certain he already doubted her. Thus, she committed to solving the problem as soon as possible. She hoped that by doing so, the man will turn his attention at her.

Megan and her assistant worked together with Go Bolin spending sleepless nights going through documents over documents. She tried her best to show to the man her sincerity even refusing to sleep in a hotel, merely staying in the office to get the job done.

On their third day at the sight, Lu Fang had finally spoken to her, thanking her for her hard work. She smiled thinking; it was the start.

Meanwhile, back in Beijing, Andrea was flustered learning that her husband was still unfished with fixing the concern pertaining to the collaborated project with Global China. She had been in a bad mood since last night. She swore her husband would pay for breaking his promise.

She and Hanxi were headed to the airport to meet her older brother, Yeong. She brought with her Karen, the nurse, and the twins. They were going to spend a day at a private sports club where the adults can enjoy swimming and indoor sports while the babies can experience the view in the garden at the same time sleep in the scent of fresh air.

They were parked at the side of the runway waiting for Yeong's plane to touch down, but even as it had already landed and her brother had gone down the plane, her mind was elsewhere. She did not even notice the woman he was holding behind him.

"Andy, what are you mumbling about?" Yeong called her attention seeing her murmuring to herself.

Startled, she looked up to her brother and reported, " Your brother-in-law is missing from his husband duties."

"You mean, he is on a business trip," corrected Yeong.

"You should punish him for me, brother."

Yeong shook his head. Before she was abducted, she always took the side of her husband. Now she was asking him to discipline Lu Fang. He responded scolding her instead, "Your husband is sacrificing his time away from you and the twins to take care of business, don't say that against him."

Andrea's mouth hung open as her eyes grew wide. Before she could protest, she heard her brother defend her husband once more, "Andy, I've seen the man broken and go through the worst for your sake. Don't ever doubt him."

She fell silent after that, merely raising both her brows as a reaction. She had to give it to her husband, she practically won her entire family.

After pondering about it, she noticed a familiar figure walking behind Yeong. When she looked past him; she saw her brother holding a woman's hand. She gulped as she slowly looked up to see who it was.

Her brows drew together as she tried to recall her name, "Xia Yanmei?"

Yanmei immediately hugged Andrea and said, "Andy, I never got to check on you but know that I was constantly worried about you."

"Thank you, Yanmei," Andrea said while giving a puzzled smile as they pulled away from the embrace.

"Andy, you may have forgotten, you and Lu Fang hired Yanmei to manage Lu-Wei Enterprises expansion in Korea with me as your primary investor," Yeong explained.

"Oh, I see… That doesn't explain holding hands though. Haha! -"

Yeong cut her off by clearing his throat before saying, "Andy, Yanmei and I are together. She is my girlfriend."
