Chapter 175 - Chapter 175

(ZHIO)

I remained in the mansion but was doing office work. I was assessing the documents that Deo sent over, completely unaware of the time that passed me by as I do so.

"Zhio…"

I lifted my eyes and saw Claire.

"Let's eat."

"Go ahead. I'll catch on," I brought my gaze back to the papers.

She went out.

I finished one more page and tried to follow her to the dining room when Deo called me.

Bad news.

"The fire broke at the left wing of the hospital at about two o'clock this afternoon. It was immediately put off so the hospital took minor damages. But there has been casualties and several people had to be treated from burns. We requested transfer of the in-patients from that whole wing just in case. The cause was still under investigation."

That was the first fire our hospitals ever had.

"How about their Insurances?" I cupped my forehead.

"Their insurance packages were immediately dealt with. We talked with the victims' families for settlement."

"Good," I sighed.

"Update me about the investigation later."

"Understood," Deo ended the call.

The door opened.

Claire went in with a tray of food and another maid behind her,

"I thought you wouldn't be able to go downstairs so I brought the food here instead."

"I'm sorry," I smiled weakly.

There has been long silence as we ate. Deo's news was still on repeat at the back of my mind.

"Is there a problem?" Claire noticed.

"Nothing," I forced a smile again.

"Just eat a lot."

"The OB said pregnant women should eat moderately," she replied.

I just nodded.

After we ate and as time continued on, I waited for Deo's update.

And just as I expected it to be, the fire was planned.

The culprit was still under interrogation for the motive and possible accomplices. I was with the impression that he was someone, or rather working under somebody, connected with the chain mails I was receiving lately.

I continued scanning through the newest pile of reports that Deo sent over. Especially that we have a current disaster at hand.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I noticed Claire watching me.

"It's late already." I asked her, "Still couldn't sleep?"
