Chapter 51

After giving out the order, Ye Lingtian was still unable to feel at ease. He squinted his eyes and pressed a button that was on his desk.

The door opened and a skinny man walked in.

“Prepare the helicopter, I’m going to River City tonight,” Ye Lingtian said in a cold voice.

Grand City Apartments, River City.

Sun Yi could feel that the intruders were searching for something in the apartment.

She could only hide under the bed and cover her mouth tightly, making sure that she did not make a sound.

Soon enough, she heard footsteps outside the bedroom door. She felt as though her heart was hanging in mid-air!

“That woman should be inside, break open the door!”

“Yes, sir!”

Bang! A loud banging sound was heard, and it was from outside the room. The whole room seemed to shake a bit.

Initially, Sun Yi thought that the wooden door would be easily broken by the group of intruders. However, to her surprise, not only did the door not break after that loud bang, but she even heard somebody moan in pain from the other side!

“What just happened?” Sun Yi was slightly stunned. However, she did not think much about it and continued to lie down.

Meanwhile, a man dressed in a suit was on the ground outside the room. His body was squirming in pain.

Upon seeing this scene, everyone else was stunned and confused.

Although the man had indeed exerted quite a bit of force to break open the door, he should not have ended up like that.

“What should we do now?” Asked another man in a suit.

“Mr. Yao wants her alive, I shall see exactly how strong this door is!”

A man with a scarred face stood in front of the door with a dark expression.

The next second, he punched the bedroom door hard!

His punch created an airburst. One could see just how terrifying the strength of his punch was!

Bang!

The door shook, and the corner of his lips curled up into a cold smile.

He was confident that even an iron door would break under such force, let alone a wooden door!

However, as his fist made contact with the wooden door, a strong resultant force gushed toward him!

His smile turned stiff instantly, and his body was hit by an immense force that could overturn rivers and seas! (TN: Meaning: overwhelming; earth-shattering)

Thud! Thud! Thud!

He was forced to take a few steps back as well!

When he finally managed to regain his balance, his face was full of horror!

‘How could this door be infused with Dispersion Forces?!’

It was as though he had punched an anti-earthquake wall!

He did not want to believe what had happened, so he punched it again. However, the result was exactly the same as before.

The wooden door did not become damaged at all. On the other hand, his body was inflicted with serious injuries!

After calming himself down, he looked at a skinny man beside him and asked, “Can you open this door?”

Since it could not be broken by force, he could only resort to alternative methods!

The man glanced at the door’s keyhole, nodded and then replied, “Give me 20 seconds.”

With that being said, he took out a thin wire from his sleeve and inserted it into the keyhole, picking it open.

After a while, a clear sound was heard and the door was unlocked!

A wave of panic swept across Sun Yi who was still hiding under the bed! Her mind went blank and she could only think of what Ye Chen had told her earlier, “If somebody manages to break in within half an hour, don’t resist. Instead, just surrender and wait for me to rescue you, understand?”

Sun Yi knew that she could not escape. She bit her lip and decided to surrender if she was found!

She had to stay alive!

She believed that Ye Chen would come to her rescue!

She believed in him without a sliver of doubt.

The man outside the door laughed slyly, and he was about to open the door.

Suddenly, a piercing sound was heard. It was coming from the window outside the apartment. The very next second, a red dot appeared between his eyebrows. His body turned stiff as he fell to the ground.

Seeing the red dot on his forehead, the men around him figured out what was happening, and their expressions darkened drastically. Just as they were about to pull out their guns, an icy cold voice rang out from behind them, “You dare mess with Ye Lingtian’s people? You all must be digging your graves!”

Upon hearing the voice, a trace of fear flashed across their eyes!

When had the man appeared behind them? They had not heard anything at all! It was as though he was a ghost!

Then, as they were about to make their move, a sword slashed past their throats in one swift motion!

Their throats were slit open!

Five of them were killed on the spot!

Each of them suffered the exact same wound!

A cold murderous intent spread across the whole apartment in an instant.

Only the scarred man was left standing!

“Ye Lingtian…”

The scarred man gave a death stare to the man in black who had appeared before him. That man’s eyes were gleaming with murderous intent as he gently wiped off the blood that was dripping off his sword.

It was such a ghastly scene.

Most importantly, the man in black had not even glanced at him, and yet his legs were shaking uncontrollably in fear!

Only because he heard the words “Ye Lingtian”!

Apart from underlying forces, who was the most terrifying man in the world of ancient martial arts?

It had to be Ye Lingtian!

The scarred man was extremely scared!

Why the hell were Ye Lingtian’s men there?!

After a few seconds, the man in black finished wiping off the bloodstains on his sword. He looked up at the scarred man and said calmly, “Do you want to do it yourself or should I do it?”

The scarred man was startled, and just when he was about to answer, a shadowy figure flashed across his eyes!

“If it wasn’t for Mr. Ye’s direct orders, I personally wouldn’t have wanted scumbags like you dirtying my sword,” the man in black murmured after looking at the dead bodies on the floor.

After that, with the snap of his fingers, four to five men instantly appeared in the apartment.

“Clean this place up as if nothing ever happened.”

“Yes, sir!”

After a short while, all the corpses were disposed of. Not to mention, the bloodstains on the floor were cleaned up altogether, and the room was back to how it looked like before.

Only then did the man in black walk toward the bedroom. He knocked on the door lightly and said, “Miss Sun, everything has been taken care of. My men will guard the area tonight, so please rest at ease.”

Although Sun Yi had heard his voice, she remained still as she was not sure whether the people outside were good or bad.

After some time, noticing that nothing was taking place outside, Sun Yi got up and gently placed her fair hand on the doorknob. She turned it slowly and opened the door slightly, leaving a small gap.

To her surprise, nobody was in the living room and there were no footprints on the floor as well!

After that, she slowly crept toward the front door and sneaked a glance through the peephole. She was shocked to see two men standing outside.

There was another man in black standing in the distance. He was wearing a jacket, and there was a cigarette in his mouth.

The man in black obviously noticed something, so he looked through the peephole and said with a smile, “Nothing to worry about, Miss Sun. We’re Mr. Ye’s men, and we’re here to protect you.”

Upon hearing ‘Mr. Ye’, Sun Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She then thought about it again and realized that if they had wanted her to be in harm’s way, they would have rushed into the room long ago as the door had already been broken.

‘Just exactly who is Mr. Ye?’

At that moment, Sun Yi’s heart was filled with horror and confusion.
