Yao Jingu struggled to raise his head after hearing his words. His eyes were partially covered in blood, so he could not see things clearly. Furthermore, the smell of smoke caused him to cough uncontrollably.

His internal organs began to hurt more every time he coughed. Nevertheless, he could not stop coughing up mouthfuls of blood.

He was suffering in silence.

Who would have thought that a high-and-mighty person like him would end up in such a situation!

He wiped away the blood in the corner of his eyes and looked at the young man in front of him.

The eyes of the young man were extremely cold and aloof, and it was as if he was indifferent to everything.

At that moment, he felt a surge of fear rise in his heart!

The young man was very powerful!

He was much more powerful than him!

Since when did Huaxia have such a young martial arts grandmaster?!

However, all sorts of clues pointed toward the fact that the martial arts grandmaster in front of him was Ye Chen who had disappeared five years ago!

Ye Chen gave him a cold smile and took a step forward. He then stepped on Yao Jingu’s face and said, “Don’t try to test my patience. If you don’t cooperate willingly, I’ll make sure you go through hell! First question, how do you know that I’m alive? How many people do?”

Yao Jingu gradually began to feel the immense strength coming from his opponent’s foot. He knew very well that if his opponent was to exert more pressure, his skull would inevitably be smashed into a pool of blood!

The strength of a martial arts grandmaster was no joke!

He wanted to break free, but he could not.

He had no choice!

Hence, I asked some of my men to search through the same database, and they found some pictures and videos. After some analysis, I found out that the similarity percentage between you and the dead Ye Chen is as high as 90%… I like to eliminate all possible threats, that’s why I made the move to find you. Whether you turned out to be Ye Chen or not, I intended to kill you anyway. No one from the Ye family can live. Master Long’s intentions are the same as well.”

Upon hearing the name ‘Master Long’, Ye Chen immediately began to give out a murderous aura!

This was because Ye Chen knew very well that Master Long was the ruthless man who had taken everything away from him!

If it was not for the banquet that had been held in Cloud Lake Manor, his parents would not have died!

“What’s Master Long’s real name? Where’s he now? Does he know that I’m alive? Suppressing his anger, Ye Chen continued to ask.

Yao Jingu answered with a wry smile, “I’m just a nobody. How would I know of Master Long’s possible whereabouts? Everybody – the ancient martial arts masters as well as the families in Capital City, we all call him Master Long with utmost respect. As for you being alive, even if I wanted to tell him about it, I wouldn’t get the chance to do so. Only a handful of people in Huaxia know where he is. All I know is that he’s very powerful, much more powerful than I can imagine.”

It was another dead end.

Ye Chen wanted answers to obtain more information, so he continued to question, “Why did he want to wipe out the Ye family during the banquet in Cloud Lake Manor? Is it really because my father had offended him?”

Yao Jingu shook his head. “I don’t know about the details. A lot of people were involved in the banquet because all of us wanted to please Master Long. I vaguely remember that Master Long seemed to be looking for something, and the last whereabouts of what he was looking for seemed to point toward the Ye family!”

‘A thing?’

Ye Chen immediately thought of the stone his father had given him.

‘Is that the reason why Master Long wiped out the Ye family?’

Ye Chen was drowned in his own thoughts when the phone in Yao Jingu’s pocket started ringing.

Hearing the phone call, Yao Jingu spat out another mouthful of blood, and his attitude changed drastically. He then gave Ye Chen a sly smile and said, “Kiddo, go ahead and kill me if you want. But if you do so, I won’t be able to guarantee that your girlfriend will make it out alive. My men are already at your girlfriend’s apartment, haha.”

Ye Chen’s eyes turned cold as he reached out his hand. He grabbed hold of Yao Jingu’s neck and lifted him from the ground.

“I swear, I’ll kill you if you dare lay a finger on her!”

Sun Yi was the only person whom Ye Chen cared about.

He could not let anything happen to her!

However, given the situation he was in, it was pointless for him to rush over to her. It all depended on whether Sun Yi followed his instructions obediently or not!

Meanwhile, at the Grand City Apartments.

A beetle had arrived at the main entrance after speeding down the road. However, the security guard on duty had dozed off, and he did not open the gates.

“Damn it!”

Sun Yi could not care less anymore, so she got off her car and started running toward her apartment!

She felt like someone was following her but she was not sure whether it was just her imagination.

She ran toward the lift desperately and took it right up to her own apartment!

She inserted her apartment key into its keyhole and unlocked the door. After entering her apartment, she slammed the door shut with a loud bang and locked the door immediately!

Her legs trembled in fear as she recalled Ye Chen’s words.

“The phone… Yes… Get the phone first!”

Sun Yi quickly picked up the phone on her desk and rushed into Ye Chen’s room according to his instructions!

Although she had no idea why Ye Chen had ordered her to go into his room, she had no time to think about it!

Just as she closed the door that led to the room, she was surprised to see the door emit a special light.

She rubbed her eyes and saw that there were all sorts of ancient rune carvings on the door!

Somehow, she felt that the rune carvings were in motion!

“What the heck is this…”

Then, all of a sudden, she remembered something and forced herself to stop thinking. She hurriedly hit the replay button on the phone.

A series of weird numbers instantly appeared on the screen of the phone.

“Are you sure that the call will go through?” Sun Yi could not help but doubt.

After a brief moment, the call connected and a middle-aged voice was heard from the other side, “Hall Master…?”

The exact same time the middle-aged man’s voice was heard, Sun Yi heard someone break into her apartment as well!

The front door had been broken into!

Somebody had barged in!

Panic and fear overtook her as she shouted, “I’m currently at Grand City Apartments in River City, 1003 Block C… Ye Chen… instructs you to send your strongest men here in the shortest amount of time… Hurry! Someone has just barged in!”

“Okay.”

The phone call disconnected right after that word.

Meanwhile, Sun Yi’s heart was in her throat as she curled herself up in a corner, her body trembling in fear.

“Why did he hang up so quickly… Why… Was the call made to the government of River City?”

At the Hidden Dragon Building, Jiangnan Province.

Ye Lingtian’s expression darkened drastically as soon he hung up the phone!

His face was red with rage!

He did not know who was the girl on the other end of the phone. Nevertheless, it did not matter!

That was because it was the Hall Master himself who had ordered her to call his number. Not to mention, judging from her voice, something bad had happened in River City! Something very bad!

Anybody who was a threat to the Hall Master was Ye Lingtian’s enemy, no matter who it was!

He picked up the phone immediately and dialed a River City number. The call connected in less than a second.

“I don’t care if your strongest men are in the middle of a mission, order all of your men to go to 1003 Block C, Grand City Apartments in River City this instant! If anything happens to that girl, I’ll be looking at your dead body!”

The man on the other end of the phone was stunned, but he replied instantly, “Yes, My Lord!”
