Chapter 232 - Dark Ocean

The breaking news arrives thirty minutes later.

Rudy and Saling's eyes were glued on the TV screen during the breaking news.

"Good evening everyone. We have to cut off our programming for a little white to give you this breaking news. A car accident took place near the Municipality of Angeles Pampanga. Two cars were involved in a car collision, injuring three people. The casualties were brought to the intensive care unit of the nearest hospital. The driver of the Suzuki Alto color red is Anthony Morales. While the owner and driver of the other car, Mercedez Benz~ E Class car was owned by Allison Javier and her passenger Owen Rosal. These are the names of the people involved in the car accident. Two drivers rushed to the crash scene and administered first aid to the casualty. As of now the condition of these injured people are still under observation at St. Benedict Hospital in Angeles Pampanga. We will give you an update regarding this accident, later. This is Jonathan Agor, reporting live for DJL News TV."

"OMG! Madam Allison and Owen got into a car accident!" Saling covered her mouth in shock. She left the sofa and hurriedly climbs the stairs to inform Greg about the car accident.

"This is not good!" Rudy immediately placed a call to his employer Alex.

Alex answered the call right away. "Hello, Rudy..."

"Sir...have you watch the breaking news on TV in DJL News TV a while ago?" Rudy asked.

"No. I'm not watching TV right now, why?" Alex asked in confusion.

"Madam Allison and Owen were involved in a car accident on the highway! The casualties were taken to the intensive care unit in St. Benedict Hospital here in the city of Angeles Pampanga," Rudy revealed the news.

"W-what!?" Alex gripped his phone hard. His heart was beating fast on his rib cage fearing for the worst. "Okay, I will board my car in a moment and I will be coming to Angeles Pampanga and go straight to St. Benedict Hospital. Tell Greg I will call him after I arrived at the hospital!" he said and ended the call.

"Yes...Sir!" Rudy replied and put his phone in the pocket of his pants. He also rushed to the stairs wanting to inform Greg that his older sister met an accident and was taken to the hospital.

When he arrived upstairs, Greg was already out of the bedroom talking to Saling.

"What is the name of the hospital where my sister and Owen were confined?" asked Greg in a panicky voice.

"In St. Benedict Hospital located in town. Your brother Alex informed me that he will call you after he arrives at the hospital," Rudy answered.

"Okay, let's go to the hospital right now!" said Greg worriedly. He looked at Saling. "You watched over Caroline while I'm away," he ordered.

"Yes Sir!" Saling responded.

Greg went back inside his room to get his phone, wallet, and jacket and emerges a few seconds later. "Let's go," he told Rudy.

The two men went down the stairs and exited the door of the house. The sound of a motorcycle leaving the house can be heard from the second story of the house.

During the commotion outside her door, Caroline was in the middle of her sleep after dozing off waiting for Allison and Owen's arrival. Earlier, she was informed by Saling that they have to go back to Alex's house tonight. She already packed her things and ready for the journey. While waiting, she rested on the bed and closed her eyes.

She dozes off..and had fallen sleep.

She was awoken by the commotion outside the room. She didn't get out, instead, she pressed her head on the wall and listened to their conversation outside the door.

She heard bits and pieces... about going to the hospital because there was an accident.

"Huh? What accident? Who got into an accident?" she mumbled to herself. She can no longer suppress her curiosity, she exited the door and walked towards the stairs and went down. She found Salign watching TV in the living room, she joined her on the couch. "Saling...what's going on?"

Saling looked at her wearing a devastated expression on her face. "Madam Allison and Owen got into a car accident on the road! I'm waiting for the news update about the accident," she answered.

"What? Are you sure? Where are they now? W-where is Greg? Did he already know about it?" Caroline asked as her heart was beating erratically in her rib cage.

"Yes. Greg and Rudy were on the way to St. Benedict Hospital to visit Madam. The casualties of the car accident were being observed in the intensive care unit," Saling responded.

Caroline sat on the sofa and fixed her eyes on the TV screen waiting for fresh updates regarding the car tragedy that involved Allison and Owen.

Saling stood up and went to her room to get something, she returned to the sofa holding a crucifix in her fingers reciting a prayer for Allison and Owen.

Caroline shut off her eyes. God forgive her, but right now, she can't bring herself to recite a prayer for Allison and Owen's safety. Instead, she was praying to God to take Allison and Owen's life right now and bring them to heaven so that she can finally be freed from that crazy woman's clutches.

While Saling continues praying for Allison and Owen's life.

Caroline was also praying earnestly to God to take away the victim's life. Only their death can free her.

Two hours later.

There was an update.

"Breaking news. We have an update regarding the car collision that was happening near the border of Angeles Pampanga. Anthony Morales and Allison Javier are still inside the ICU as of this moment and the doctors were on standby to observe the patients' critical condition. As for Owen Rosal, his condition is now stable. I'll give you more updates later. This is Jonathan Agor, reporting live for DJL News TV."

Saling made a sign of the cross and continue reciting a prayer.

Caroline was also praying with all her heart for Allison's immediate death. She doesn't mind if Owen was saved as long Allison is dead then she will be free. Owen is not worse compared to Allison.

'Lord, please take Allison away from this world because she is toxic. Please don't let her come back alive. Please, I begged you, Lord. I never asked you desperately for anything until now. Please take away Allison's life, I begged you," she said over and over again in her mind.

The two women remained seated on the sofa, ironically, they were reciting a different payer for the same person.

Caroline stared at the caretaker. She observed that Saling prayed wholeheartedly for her employer's deliverance to safety. Allison must have treated the caretaker right to elicit this kind of devotion from her. Based on her observation, Allison is the type of woman who has two different personalities. Cold and cruel to her enemy, but kind to others.

"Saling, I'll go upstairs to rest. Let me know if there is a new update," she said.

The caretaker nodded her head and continue reciting a prayer for Allison.

Caroline climbs the stairs slowly and entered the bedroom. She went to bed and lay her body down, she wrapped the blanket around her body and stared at the ceiling.

Allison is in critical condition...

Meaning she was hovering between life and death...

Only God can make a miracle for her now.

"Let her die, Lord! Please, let her rest in peace so that I can regain my freedom. For the sake of this baby I am carrying in my w.o.m.b, please release me from this prison that Allison has built around me. As for my sins in killing Brenda, I will pay my debt in the afterlife. Just let me deliver my baby peacefully beside my husband, please LORD listen to my prayer!" Caroline started praying again, this time tears were falling from her eyes. She prayed so hard and recited the same prayer over and over again.

Suddenly, a deafening thunder broke into the sky above, and more thunder and lightning bombarded the sky, then the rain starts falling, wetting the dry ground around the beach house.

The rain fell in torrents creating a puddle in the ground.

It has been a few days when there was no rain. Caroline was kind of welcoming the rain with open arms. She rose to her feet and looked at the window, staring at the dark ocean looming in front of her.

She closed the window and went back to bed.

Ugh! The waiting is killing her!

She wants to know if Allison is already dead. It's the kind of news that she desperately wanted right now! She will do anything for that good news!

She already stopped praying, chances are, God will not listen again to her prayers. She was used to her prayers getting ignored!

She caresses her tummy lovingly. For her unborn child, she needs to be strong to ride the storm ahead and survive longer no matter what the cost.

A few minutes later, she heard a gentle knock on the door and heard Saling crying loudly. She immediately got up from the bed and opened the door. She found the woman crying helplessly in front of the door. "What's wrong, Saling?" she asked in a worried tone.

The caretaker looked deeply into her eyes. "Rudy texted me a few minutes ago...Madam already passed away inside the ICU!"

A cold gush of wind suddenly blanketed them.

At first, the good news didn't register in Caroline's mind right away...it's simply too good to be true! Her brain was having a hard time processing it.

"Madam is dead, she didn't survive her injury!" Saling repeated and continue sobbing.

Slowly... fresh tears emerged from Caroline's eyes. They were tears of happiness! And right in front of Saling, she broke down as the heavy burden that she was carrying all these time was lifted instantly from her shoulder, tears were falling down her face in abundance.

The caretaker was crying due to sadness and grief of losing someone good to her.

While Caroline was also crying for a different reason, her tears were all due to happiness as huge relief washed over her.

"IT'S OVER...!!!' A tiny voice whispered in her ears.

"YEAH!" she agreed ecstatically.

Saling walked away, heading towards the staircase sporting a sagging shoulder due to grief.

Caroline went back inside the room and buries her smiling face in the pillow.

'Yes! I'm free at last! Thank you, God!' she said to herself.
