Outside the Tongyou Mysterious World…

Right before Ancestor Yun Lu could grab the Hidden Frost Sword, a loud whistle tore through the void.

Before anyone could react, an ordinary looking hand stretched out from the void and grabbed the Hidden Frost Sword that was ringing non-stop.

As soon as the hand appeared, the ringing emitted by the Hidden Frost Sword changed. The change was clear. The miserably ringing seemed to transform into one of endless excitement.

The moment the hand grabbed the Hudden Frost Sword, it twisted its wrist once, shattering all the restraints around the sword.

“How… How can you be…” Ancestor Yun Lu’s casual expression finally changed. His voice was filled with shock and fear…

Outside the Changfeng City…

Gao Yun was holding off Youshang’s relentless attacks while still running his mouth off. “I don’t know what agreement you made with the Tongyou Institution, but you should treasure your life. If you leave now, you might still make it. Otherwise, hehehe…”

Youshang seemed to turn a deaf ear to whatever Gao Yun was saying. His attacks became even more aggressive and he forced Gao Yun who seemed to be holding the advantage to retreat desperately.

“Are you really going to stay so stubborn?” Gao Yun didn’t seem affected by Youshang’s offensive. However, his expression changed drastically when the amount of energy pouring down from the rose-colored bridge. It weakened by more than half!

“This…”

The spiritual deer wasn’t suppressed by the world origin in the slightest due to the fact that it managed to absorb the extermination origin nurtured by the spiritual vein. The moment it did, it seemed to become one with the protection formation Gao Yun laid down. Naturally, the protection formation wouldn’t suppress one of its own.

There was another reason Shang Xia didn’t expect. After the spiritual deer absorbed the Yin Water Mysterious Extermination Origin, it became a lot stronger than it originally was! It exceeded Shang Xia’s estimations. It far surpassed a Martial Intent Realm cultivator at the grand completion stage.

That meant that the spiritual deer could possess the strength of a Martial Extermination Realm cultivator! The protection formation could suppress Shang Xia as he was still in the Martial Intent Realm, but its effects were limited when it came to an existence that possessed strength at the level of the Martial Extermination Realm.

When the spiritual deer rammed into Yang Zhenbiao earlier, it easily inflicted heavy injuries on the man. After all, how could a Martial Intent Realm cultivator like Yang Zhenbiao withstand a blow from an existence that had the strength of a Martial Extermination Realm cultivator?

Yang Zhenbiao clearly didn’t expect the event to unfold like that, and Shang Xia was equally surprised.

When he tossed out the Spirit Extermination Gourd earlier, it was a desperate attempt to do something about the situation. He didn’t expect it to be so effective.

When the blood draining from Yang Zhanbiao’s face, he thought back to the spiritual deer. He knew that only direct disciples of the White Deer Paradise could possess something like that. The only person he knew who had the authority to receive a treasure like that from the White Deer Paradise was Li Tianshou whose cultivation had reached the large completion stage of the Martial Intent Realm.

Now that the spiritual deer was summoned by someone who obviously didn’t hail from the White Deer Paradise, there was only one possibility. Li Tianshou had been killed by the person before him!

“Who exactly are you…” Yang Zhenbiao mumbled somewhat incoherently.

Shang Xia was too lazy and injured to reply. Since Yang Zhenbiao was seriously injured, Shang Xia understood that the wisest thing he could do was to eliminate the threat completely.

However, the thing that happened next caused Yang Zhenbiao to snigger uncontrollably despite his serious injuries. The spiritual deer didn’t continue to charge at Yang Zhenbiao. Instead, it ran towards the deep pool where the energy was collected and started to eat its fill. The spiritual deer was clearly not controlled by Shang Xia!

Shang Xia might have been able to forcefully control the appearance of the spiritual deer with the Spirit Extermination Gourd, but he was no longer holding on to it. He couldn’t pour his inner qi into the gourd either.

“Hah… Hah…” Yang Zhenbiao held on to the wall behind him as he struggled to get to his feet. Even though his inner injuries were serious, he wasn’t dead yet.

As for Shang Xia, he was still unable to move due to the suppression. He could only remain motionless in place.

In reality, Shang Xia was doing all he could to resist the suppression around him. However, his abilities were limited after taking two strikes from Yang Zhenbiao earlier.

When he saw Yang Zhenbiao getting to his feet and slowly making his way over, Shang Xia sighed softly in his heart. He stared at the eighteen openings in the ceiling, praying for a change to happen.

Who would have thought that the situation would change suddenly? The amount of energy pouring down decreased by more than half, and it seemed as though it was about to disappear completely.

Shang Xia thought that he was hallucinating when the change happened, and he blinked his eyes forcefully. After examining it closely, he discovered that it was actually happening! The reflection of the moon became extremely blurry as though it was about to disappear.

He also realized that the suppression around him became much weaker than before. Rejoicing in his heart, Shang Xia didn’t give half a shit about the reason behind the sudden weakened suppression. Rousing his inner qi immediately, he quickly circulated it in his body.

A grunt left his lips and after spitting out another mouthful of blood, Shang Xia slapped his hands against the ground and got to his feet.

Facing Shang Xia’s sudden action, Yang Zhenbiao was so shocked that his legs went weak. He nearly crumpled to the ground again.

Feeling the killing intent rolling off Shang Xia, Yang Zhenbiao’s heart sank as despair started to set in.

Turning around with the last of his energy, Yang Zhenbiao no longer cared about killing Shang Xia. He wanted nothing but to leave immediately.

“Young City Lord, where are you going?” Shang Xia’s voice rang in Yang Zhenbiao’s ears and he couldn’t hide his tone of ridicule in the slightest.

“Mercy… Please spare my life!” Yang Zhenbiao stuttered as he fell to the ground and desperately tried to crawl away. As he was looking like a bum who was scared of death, he turned around abruptly and tossed two daggers made from tiger’s teeth at Shang Xia.

Just as he was about to rejoice about outsmarting his opponent, a streak of starlight tore through the air in front of him and stabbed straight into him.

Raising his hands feebly, he wanted to say something but the blood in his throat blocked off whatever words that was about to emerge. After several weak gurgling sounds, he crumpled to the ground.

Shang Xia managed to grab both the daggers and his nose was soon assaulted by a pungent smell. Clearly, those daggers were poisoned.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Shang Xia thought about how he almost fell victim to Yang Zhenbiao’s hidden attack.

Even though he didn’t know why the amount of energy decreased by half, he was glad that he finally regained the ability to move.

The suppression was still active, but all it took was more energy from Shang Xia to move about. Every time he unleashed his attack or took a small step forward, he would expend a lot of Origin True Qi. Only by using his inner qi to forcefully resist the suppression could he unleash his attacks with the power he desired.

Just a second ago, he nearly failed to intercept those daggers.

After keeping them both carefully, Shang Xia searched through Yang Zhenbiao’s body only to obtain an intricate-looking wooden box.

“Hehe, let’s hope that the things the young city lord doesn’t disappoint.” Tossing the storage box into his sleeves, Shang Xia chose to examine it in the future. The situation above ground wasn’t clear and it wasn’t the best time to look through his loot.

Taking several steps forward, he picked up the Spirit Extermination Gourd before sending some Origin True Qi in. He quickly tried to drag the spiritual deer back into the gourd. It seemed as though he couldn’t fully control the spiritual deer despite it fusing together with the Spirit Extermination Gourd.

After absorbing even more extermination qi, the spiritual deer seemed to have escaped his control once again. As half of its body was sucked back into the gourd, it released a deep cry before struggling desperately against the suction force.

When the spiritual deer didn’t listen to Shang Xia’s command earlier to kill Yang Zhenbiao, a trace of lingering fear appeared in his heart. He was no longer willing to allow it to continue doing as it wished.

Shang Xia didn’t hold back as he poured his inner qi into the gourd. As the suction force increased, the spiritual deer seemed unable to withstand it any longer and it released a miserable cry before turning into a ball of mist that returned to the gourd.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Shang Xia thought back to how lucky he was when the spiritual deer entered the Spirit Extermination Gourd on its own accord preciously. If not for the fact that the spiritual deer was trying to survive, it wouldn’t have entered the gourd willingly. If that were the case, Shang Xia wouldn’t have been able to complete his mission. When he thought about how strong the spiritual deer became when it struck Yang Zhenbiao, he knew that subduing it forcefully would no longer be as easy as before. Luckily, he had the assistance of the gourd.

Now that Yang Zhenbiao was dead and the Spirit Extermination Gourd was back in his hands, the most logical thing for Shang Xia to do was to look for a way out of the spirit cave.

When he raised his head to look at the eighteen holes again, Shang Xia discovered that energy was only pouring in from nine of the eighteen holes. He understood that the world origin was still being drained from the Tongyou Mysterious World, and it seemed as though his mission wasn’t completed yet.

He might not know what led to the decrease in world origin, but from his experience earlier, those nine remaining holes were the key to shattering Gao Yun’s hidden second layer of formation!

Pulling his spear out from Yang Zhenbiao’s body, Shang Xia raised his head to look at the hole directly above him. Circulating his inner qi, he released his fourth move, Void Evasion!
