Shang Xia pressed himself firmly against the wall beside him. Even with the Water Repulsion Pearl, he felt as though the water was rushing against his skin. He could feel every subtle transformation to the current around him. 

The feeling was pretty similar to what he felt back when he stood in the middle of the Origin Tide when he was still in the Martial Realm.

The only difference between what he was experiencing was that the heaven and earth qi that had fused with the water around him was much less violent than at the core of an Origin Tide. Shang Xia could feel that it was obediently following the flow of the river. 

Heaven and earth qi in the space around him became denser and denser, turning the region around him into something that resembled a spiritual river!

Shang Xia’s guesses were true. The White Deer Paradise was going to use the underground river to transport the world origin and heaven and earth qi they stole from the Tongyou Institution back to the Ji Continent!

As for how they would receive the energy on the other side, Shang Xia had no clue. That wasn’t his problem anyway.

That would also mean that the situation over at the Tongyou Institution wasn’t looking too good. They probably had no means of stopping the ancestor!

He had to make his move as soon as possible. Pushing himself forward, he discovered another problem. The current was too strong and the amount of inner qi he required to take a single step forward was massive. The consumption of inner qi was terrifying, and he didn’t know how far he had to go!

Outside the Changfeng City, a ray of light appeared in the skies towards the south.

It shot towards the city at a terrifying speed, and by the time the guards reacted, it had already arrived above the city. The streak of light left a long tail that faded after some time.

The protection formation around the Changfeng City quickly activated and a formless barrier appeared to surround the city before the streak of light could enter.

Slamming heavily into the barrier, a massive explosion was produced by the collision. The disturbance caused the city to tremble violently.

Even though the protection barrier around the Changfeng City wasn’t fully destroyed, a long crack appeared where the collision took place. The crack extended towards the southern gate of the city.

Half a street had been turned to shreds around the southern part of the city due to the impact of the collision. Countless buildings were turned to rubble, and there wasn’t a single person who survived the blast. 

A huge crater could be seen and an ordinary spear was stuck in the heart of the crater. From the look of it, the spear was what caused the explosion. 

At the end of the street stood several experts from the City Lord Manor. It seemed as though they had been patrolling the city when the incident happened. Ugly expressions filled the faces of those present as they stared at the huge crater not too far away.

Gritting his teeth, Yang Zhenbiao growled, “Martial Extermination!” 

Qin Yuyuan frowned. “What do we do now? Master isn’t here and more than half the strength of our protection formation has been directed away. We can’t stop a Martial Extermination Realm expert!” 

With a wave of unease filling his heart, Yang Zhenbiao’s face turned dark and he growled, “What else can we do? We can only inform that person in the manor!” 

Hesitating for a moment, Qin Yuyuan muttered, “Alright, I’ll make the report immediately.” 

“No.” Yang Zhenbiao reached out to stop Qin Yuyuan. “He won’t bother meeting you. I’ll go!” 

Qin Yuyuan’s face sank slightly. He wanted to say something, but Yang Zhenbiao waved his hand and interrupted, “Senior Brother Qin, you should remain here with the rest. Do not bother fighting the person who came. If things get ugly, return to the City Lord Manor!” 

After speaking, Yang Zhenbiao ran back towards the City Lord Manor.

Watching Yang Zhenbiao leave, Qin Yuyuan was shocked to discover that the young city lord had entered the large completion stage of the Martial Intent Realm without him realizing it.

Qin Yuyuan recalled something and he yelled, “What happens to the city then? What are we supposed to do?”

“Just focus on saving yourself if the situation turns bad! Ignore the rest and return to the manor! Once you enter the manor, you’ll be safe!” A voice rang in Qin Yuyuan’s mind and he was the only one who could hear Yang Zhenbiao’s reply.

Qin Yuyuan looked at those around him and a trace of guilt flashed in his eyes. Those with him were either fellow disciples or people who were serving Yang Hu. Among them were also members who used to be part of the Eighteen Horsemen.

All of a sudden, a hoarse voice rang beside Qin Yuyuan’s ears. “Brother Qin, what do we do now?” 

Qin Yuyuan turned to stare at him only to discover that it was Boss Sha of the Eighteen Horsemen.

Grunting once, Qin Yuyuan was about to respond when he saw a guard running unsteadily towards them.

Turning to the guard, he no longer bothered with Boss Sha. “What’s going on?” 

The guard who came hadn’t entered the Martial Extremity Realm and he suffered heavy injuries from the blast earlier. He managed to retain his consciousness due to his strong mental strength, but he wasn’t looking too good.

When the Guard saw Qin Yuyuan, a wave of relief washed over him and he crumpled to the ground while yelling, “Someone… Someone is attacking the city gate!” 

“How many?” Qin Yuyuan growled.

“The… The Eighteen Horsemen of the You Continent! They’re here!” 

Qin Yuyuan felt some weird fluctuations coming from behind him and the scene where they ran into a suspected Martial Extermination Realm expert when trying to wipe out those stragglers who refused to join them crossed his mind. Was the appearance of the Martial Extermination Realm expert and the remnants of the Eighteen Horsemen truly a coincidence?

A sneer formed on his lips when he felt the unease from those behind him. “Looks like those rats decided to send themselves to their death. Someone will deal with the Martial Extermination Realm expert on their side! Everyone else, follow me to kill those useless rats!” 

After he spoke, he turned to look at the members of the original Eighteen Horsemen who chose to join the Changfeng City. “I hope you don’t miss your chance this time.”
