Data.200 – Another Perspective: Inexperienced Bond

The battle between Satomi and Crusher also began right after Forbidden Ground of Pain was deactivated…

The effect of Unison Trinity was still active.

On top of Satomi’s three Unisons, Anne had also joined him, making them a fighting force of five.

And Crusher was all alone… It seemed like this would be over quickly.

However, once things got going, it became apparent that Crusher had the upper hand.

How did this happen…?

Both sides understood the reason.

“Basically, you lack training…! You wanted to hide information regarding the Miracle Effect so much that you didn’t fight PvP until the tournament! I suppose you thought it would be enough to fight monsters in secluded places, but there is no way to get used to fighting other players without actually fighting other players!”

“Tsk…!”

He was right on the money.

Satomi had been afraid of others finding out about his Miracle Effect, and having the information spread online. And so he had not fought a single player before the tournament.

He had used Unison Trinity for the first time during the first battle when up against Core.

And since Unison Trinity had never been seen before, Satomi had been able to push far enough so that it ended in both of their deaths.

However, Crusher was now fighting Satomi with knowledge of Unison Trinity.

Of course, no matter how much of a veteran player you are, you would not understand everything after seeing it just once.

Still, it was a big difference compared to not knowing about it at all.

“To be blunt, your coordination is bad…! Surrounding me and attacking from all sides is fine. However, you crumble easily when your timing isn’t right, and you even end up hitting each other… This is proof that you’ve only been fighting monsters with limited move sets, instead of players who are unpredictable!”

It was exactly as he said.

Crusher was moving in a way that was purposely complex and hard to predict. And the Unisons were confused.

On top of that, Anne had joined them.

But the Ghost Guild had not practiced so that they could move together.

And so while sometimes their emergency cooperation worked well, sometimes it did not.

And this was one of the times where it did not.

“In spite of being teammates, you seem too reserved. Don’t you think you would be better off alone?”

“That might be. But up until now…!”

Satomi stopped trying to surround Crusher and formed a line instead.

At least now they wouldn’t have to worry about friendly fire.

Though, now that all of the attacks were coming from a single direction, it was easier to dodge or cancel them out. But Satomi’s side had a numerical advantage.

If they unleashed five charge attacks at the same time, then there was no way that one player could deal with all of them!

“Unison Maestro…Flame Rock Flower – Double! Ultra Air Cannon! Guerilla Stream!”

“Shine Daybreak Star!”

In reaction to this, Crusher placed his hands and knees on the ground and lowered his head.

“Land of Metempsychosis.”

Immediately after, the ground surrounding Satomi rotated 180 degrees so that their backs were now facing Crusher.

Not only that, but even their charge attacks rotated 180 degrees and flew in the opposite direction as Crusher…!

It happened so suddenly that Satomi and the others could not comprehend, and they remained frozen.

“I can’t block all of that alone. And so I just made them go somewhere else.”

Crusher had predicted that they would use brute force eventually.

And his way of dealing with it was to change the direction of the enemy, as well as their charge attacks.

As it wasn’t about clashing with the enemy’s attack, and just rotated the ground they were on, it was able to nullify any powerful attack, making it a very useful trump card.

“While you are good at surrounding an enemy, it also didn’t work out for you here. But spreading out doesn’t work either… There is nothing you can do. Now, it’s time to die!”

Crusher moved towards Satomi…!

But then Anne intercepted him!

“A quick reaction…! I see. So this is what they call an instinct-type. However…!”

While she was quick to realize what Crusher was going to do, she was slow in swinging the hammer and maintaining the right distance.

And so he got up close to Anne and swung his mace!

“Repose of Souls Crush!”

Anne blocked the attack with the armor on her arms.

That was a heavy armor-type advance guard for you. One or two hits wasn’t going to shake her.

But this was almost unnatural…!

“If your heart quiets down, your body will sink… That’s not a bad analogy!”

Repose of Souls Crush had an effect that increased the weight of the person who took damage.

And so the reason that Anne wasn’t knocked off her feet in spite of it being a powerful attack, was because the effect had increased her weight.

When this happened, not only was the force increased, as there was nowhere for it to escape, but it also trapped you.

Just when it looked like escape was impossible, Satomi returned to himself and came in to support.

Crusher detected this immediately and withdrew.

“Phew… While I can deal with five of you at once, it gets a little harder when I have to start killing… Fights really are about numbers. I suppose it’s time for me to rely on a partner as well.”

And then, Crusher and Buckler were standing side by side…!
