Obviously Very Happy (2)

After half an hour of meditation, Anna’s mental strength was almost restored. She picked up the demon’s mage robe. Because the mage robe was waterproof and oil-proof, the blood on her body did not get onto the fabric. She looked briefly and found it was not dirty at all, nor was there a strange smell. So, she took the mage robe with her, preparing to return it to the demon on the way.

The two got off the carriage and Anna realized that although the coachman said that Mage Leon had invited them over, the demon was also there. The demon was leaning against a tree trunk, and Leon was standing on the side. When they heard movement, they both looked over.

When Anna walked up to the two of them, Leon looked at Anna and asked with concern, “Is your injury okay?”

“It’s alright now, thank you for remembering Natalie before.” Anna smiled, and out of the corner of her eyes, she saw the demon’s unwavering expression, and asked straightforwardly, “What did you call me and Natalie over here to discuss? ”

Leon smiled, and his face became more serious when he spoke again: “There is something wrong with the line of life and death. Demonic creatures like the three-headed demonic eagle, which are at the very least equivalent to the level of the three-star mage, should not appear around here. Anna, did you find anything strange about the three-headed demonic eagle?”

Anna glanced at the demon, and guessed that he must not have told Leon about the situation at that time. So, she elaborated: “I was caught by the three-headed demonic eagle and brought to a clifftop. On the cliff, there were a total of seven three-headed demonic eagles there, among which one was likely the leader, as they all listened to it. They seem to understand human speech.”

Leon nodded: “It is estimated that the intelligence level of a three-headed demonic eagle is similar to that of a four- or five-year-old child. Maybe it can really understand human speech.”

Anna said: “When Raymond came to save me, I was confronting them. Then they flew away together, and I don’t know why.”

Three-headed demonic eagles didn’t usually appear near the line of life and death, but this time, seven of them appeared at one time, which was really concerning.

For so many years, there have been two different worlds on either side of the line of life and death. Demonic creatures competed with and devoured each other within the line of life and death, while human beings lived and worked in peace and contentment outside the line of life and death. Basically, demonic creatures would not cross the line of life and death. And the weaker ones that did could be easily dealt with by mages.

But what if these centuries or even millennia of balance was disrupted?

If the countless number of demonic creatures in the line of life and death burst out, it would be a disaster for the entire continent.

Anna was not a clueless cinnamoroll who just transmigrated over and didn’t understand anything. After Leon said that there might be changes in the line of life and death, she realized the seriousness of the matter.

“The last time I came here, there was already a change in the line of life and death.” Leon said, “So tomorrow, I’m planning to go deep into the line with Raymond. You and Natalie should head back to Black Cloud City first. ”

Anna objected without a second thought: “I don’t agree.”

Leon didn’t expect Anna to object. He was stunned for a moment before asking, “Why?”

Of course for the sake of your life!

Anna couldn’t speak the truth. She looked at the demon, and he looked at her inquiringly because of her objection.

“Even if you two go together, it’s still very dangerous.” Anna’s reason sounded very tenable, “The situation right now at the line of life and death is unknown. There were three headed demonic eagles; seven of them! Raymond and I were lucky to escape with our lives intact; I don’t even know why they let us go. If you two run into them again, you may not be so lucky.”

“You can underestimate Leon, but don’t underestimate me,” Rothgarr said, displeased.

“It’s not a question of underestimating or not, it’s the truth!” Anna insisted, “You guys don’t know what’s going on in the line of life and death, and are heading in so rashly. What if you encounter danger? Anyway, I don’t agree.”

Anna finished speaking and looked at Leon again. It didn’t matter to her if the demon wanted to go, but Leon couldn’t go. If Leon went, in addition to facing the threat of demonic creatures, he would also need to defend against the sneak attacks of the demon.

Leon was silent for a moment and said, “If we don’t figure out what happened in the life and death line, we will be very passive.”

“You can go back and report to the Association first, and the Association will make a decision. This is not our own responsibility. It concerns the safety of the entire continent.” Anna said, “Now is not the time to act on a whim.”

Leon listened to Anna’s words. He pondered for a moment, and really felt that her words made sense.

But Rothgarr sneered: “Cowardice! How dangerous can it be?”

Anna thought to herself, this demon was definitely planning something. Otherwise, why was he so eager to go? He must be trying to lure Leon in, and then would use the demonic creatures to kill Leon to not seem like a suspect.

“If you want to go, go yourself.” Anna said, looking at the demon.

Rothgarr’s expression changed, and he stared at Anna angrily.

Although it was Leon’s intention to go together to investigate the line of life and death, he did agree immediately of his own motives.

Although Anna had been using Leon, he was very unhappy that Anna’s attention had been split with Leon, so if there was an “accident” in this investigation, he was of course happy to help create one.

But Anna seemed to see through his intentions and wanted to stop him.

Rothgarr sneered: “Are you wishing for me to die in there?”

That’s true, but I won’t tell you that!
