Chapter 36 - 35. Hidden stats

"WOW!!! Your traits evolve and you even got mastery from it!" James is amazed at Kana's transformation.

"Yeah, but it deleted my book mastery. Can I get that mastery back later? Also, doesn't it mean that I have a useless starting weapon now? Does this mean good or bad?" Kana expresses her worry but still smiling as she can't hide her happiness.

"Well, we better hold the discussion as time is almost up, guys. We have to run back to the village and turn our quest in as it's already past 2 pm. We can also find more information later in the school library or ask the instructor. By the way, congratulations on graduating from non-combat class Anna; we finally have 2 people in combat class."

"Wait, what? She's no longer a noncombat class?? How do you change it? I also want to be categorized as a combat class! Hey! I was the one who does all the fighting." Alice protests but the party ignores her and proceeds to take their spoil into inventory.

It took 1 big inventory slot to fit 1 long tusked boar inside and in total the party net about 30+ monster carcasses for Kana harvest training.

Right after they arrive at butcher stall, Mr. Theo sends the party to the blacksmith shop to buy a knife set for Kana training. She would need at least 3 kinds of knives; cleaver, bone knife, and a cutting knife. Luckily they still have enough money from the previous hunt to afford the knives set.

Albert, Alice, and James are exchanging their opinions at what they experience so far while Kana learn under Mr. Theo's guidance.

Albert: "You should increase your HP somehow, James. It was too low if you really plan to become a frontliner."

James: "I know, but I also have stamina and weight problems. Blocking enemy cost me lot of stamina; Although I can manage it so far, there's a time when my stamina reaches a single digit."

Albert: " I think we should spend more time at a library tomorrow. First look up at evolution article and second, we need to look at what do our stats represent. Although general game knowledge seems to be applied we're not sure how much 1 stats point worth in a grand scheme."

At 3 pm Kana barely finish her job and the party is heading back to school without selling the harvested material. It was Kana's first time using knives to harvest and clean monsters. Due to her inexperience, she messed up some of the jobs damaging the materials in the process. Still, it was worth the money as they didn't need to pay Mr. Theo to harvest for them.

At the end of the day the team net a pretty nice experience and a bit of money to start for tomorrow's hunt.

Students start to get up 1 by 1 from their sleeping chamber. Some are really excited some are not so much. Some sleeping chamber are empty as the students forced to log out mid-game as they died in-game. As time flows at the same rate inside the game world the students can head directly home as school time already over.

The group meet up with Anna and head home together in James's car. Anna asks them about their experience and Alice is happily telling her all the things that happen tutorial world. Anna knows that Albert and James are really into RPG games and figure they would fare rather well. But hunting 50+ monsters in a day is outside of Anna's expectation.

On her first day in the tutorial world, she only manages to hunt 30+ monster and it was all due to her martial arts experience. Granted she was a monster and she hunts 30+ monster alone but she did not expect a newly made-up party to outdone her by 20+ monster.

Anna jaw's drop to the floor as Alice told her that Kana experience her first Evolution and they net almost 50% experience point on the first day.

"I didn't expect you guys would experience first evolution before I do," Anna said to the group

"Yeah, It just happens and before I knew I successfully create a skill and cast it on Alice. By the way, what do you know about evolution? I lost my book mastery skill due to my evolution. Can I get it back?"

"Usually each person only has 1 weapon mastery and other weapon mastery option would disappear from their mastery list if they already choose their weapon mastery. I did not know what would happen to your book mastery but hopefully, you can get the weapon mastery option back when you choose your mastery later."

"But don't you worry too much about it. As far as I know, there's never a case of bad evolution; All evolver that I know so far always produce a better result than they previously did. Although it was unfortunate to lose a mastery at least you land yourself another mastery and even got skill as a bonus to that." Anna continues to congratulating her sister's achievement.

"Anna, did you know what stats point affect stamina and how much stamina per stats point it would give? Also what affect HP regeneration and how come we didn't have that in our status?" Albert ask Annaas from Kana traits she gets doubled HP regeneration but it didn't show in her status.

"Endurance yield 10 stamina per endurance points and every 2 Dexterity point would give you 5 stamina. As for HP regeneration, it was one of the hidden stats and get affected by many things but most significantly by vitality."

"Hidden stats???" Alice asks cuts in Albert discussion

"Yeah, hidden stats; There's a lot of hidden stats such as movement speed, accuracy and most of regeneration stuff such as HP, MP, and Stamina regeneration are fallen into hidden stats category. They are not listed on your status tab because it was hard to measure said status by numbers."

"Does stats point affect this hidden status? Why does it hard to measure hidden stats?"

"Because it was everchanging; for example, your movement speed is not constant and the more tired you are the lower the number is. The same could be applied to HP regeneration, bleeding person has low HP regeneration but if you tend it properly it would go up. Hidden stats are linked closely to your body current physical conditions so it was really hard to determine hidden stats by number."

"Same as normal stats hidden stats also get affected by stats point; You can read all about this in the library they already did extensive research about this very subject."

Arrive at her house Kana and Anna gets out of the car. James drops the rest of his passager before he heads home to rest and prepared for tomorrow's hunt.
