Chapter 552 - Even the strong have a weakness.

It seems like she can no longer get out of this.

Ryuuko seems to have everything figured out already. "Your right. I already know Allen has feelings for me."

How long did she know? Lyn was unsure herself, so when Ryuuko nodded and didn't ask, it relieved her.

Her fiance Prince Allen, she thought she could earnestly enter a proper relationship with him. That was why she worked so hard so she could fall in love with him. She deluded herself into the role of a girl falling at first sight for their fiance. She thought if she could be with this man, then her future could change.

"I wanted to break free of my shackles, even if I had to use Allen."

She wanted freedom, even if it meant pretending and lying to herself.

It was wrong of her to do this. What if he genuinely fell for her? It would hurt him in the future when he found out. But she did not have to worry about that. Even when he fell for her, Allen never said a word and continued this game.

"Then isn't that okay? That is the decision you made after giving it your all."Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #._51979257131354589 for visiting.

Lyn stared at Ryuuko, puzzled. For the last few minutes, she tried to silently work out what was wrong with him, but nothing came to mind.

"Are you sick?" She asked him at last.

Ryuukos eyes twitched, annoyed. "Princess Lyn, with all due respect, please refrain from such comments."

"But your never this kind. Did Silver poison you-" Her sentence fell short when he sighed deeply and interjected.

"Do not put me on the same level as that guy."

At that comment, something came to mind. Now that she thought about it, she managed to make the pact with Ryuuko easily. One of the main reasons why she could not do so until recently was that person.

"Have you heard from him lately?" Lyn casually asked but inside, her emotions were messy. So much has happened lately, so she has not tracked that guy's movements.

"I was just going to ask you."

Lyn felt her heartbeat increase when she heard those words.

"You don't know where he is?"

She thought that even if she did not keep an eye out for him, somebody else will. Her face color turned pale. "We have to find him."

"Right, we do. Silver is dangerous."

Dangerous is an understatement. That guy does not care about the Empire or the infighting of the Kingdoms, and he does not care about anybody or anything. The same would apply to himself. Lyn does not know how many times she constantly saw him fighting recklessly without a single care of getting hurt.

Normally even the strongest person would hesitate to throw their life away in a fight. That is why there are people who retreat and try to negotiate. However, that mad man does not think of such things.

Silver has such careless regard for life and for humanity. Just thinking of it made her shudder. She never thought she would meet somebody like that.

Ryuuko extended his hand out and patted her hair. "Relax, Princess. You do not have to worry so much."

"But-"

"He is dangerous. I do agree with you there; however," Ryuuko stopped. "Even the strong ones have a weakness."

Lyn blinked when she heard those words. "Are you implying that you found his weakness?" Does that guy have a weakness? Lyn would never have thought of that before.

But then again, Silver is human, too, even if he behaves like he has lost his humanity.

A complicated look appeared on Ryuukos face, and he slowly nodded. "I cannot tell you what it is yet since I still need to make sure on a few things, but you have to trust me on this and relax."

"Alright." She reluctantly agreed.

"So when are you going to enroll?"

It relieved her when Ryuuko changed the topic. Although they do have to discuss this more, now is not the time for it. Besides, nothing has happened lately, so she ought to calm down. A peaceful time like this is normally the sign for a huge storm, though.

"Soon. I just need to confirm a few more things with my mother."

"The Queen, huh?"

"I know what you are thinking, but she isn't running away. She is under a lot of stress." Lyn knew it was all excuses. She heard the vassals complain that lately, mother does not do the Queen work. She seemed occupied with something else other than the state of the Kingdom.

"I admire her as a Queen and what she has done for the Kingdom. Despite what others say, Queen Orthez is a model example of a good ruler. But as a parent, I can't help but scold her." Ryuuko turned to her. "She has no excuse for keeping you locked up."

"It was for my safety."

"Yes, your safety, but did you not end up emotionally scarred and wounded? You had to put with the servants treating you like a speck of dirt too." Ryuuko sighed. "Also the infighting between siblings. Suppose she said something like this. You may all have different fathers, but you are still family, then she could have prevented the hostile atmosphere."

Indeed if mother said something like that when they were all still young, it could have worked. If she said that now it would have no effect since they are all a.d.u.l.ts now. They no longer have the same amount of innocence as back then. Their trust and belief in others have long vanished.

Family huh? Before, it was a foreign word to her.

At some point, she even stopped thinking of it. She occasionally attended those family dinners, but she felt no emotion other than her fear toward her first brother. The other emotion? It was something she did not understand. But when she watched how close her sister and mother were, she felt odd.

Ah, she is the only odd one out here. Even though her three siblings were not necessarily close, they interacted naturally with mother in the center. She always felt so empty and alone during those meetings.

Now that she thought about it. One of those gatherings happened shortly when she first met Rhys, that time, he immediately noticed her discomfort. He asked her if she wanted him to take her away.

It was the first time for her, somebody reaching out and telling her the words she wanted.

A person who considered all the consequences, but his gaze remained firm as he said he would take her away.

Not a day has passed since then where she stopped thinking of those words and the look in his eyes.
