Chapter 451 - Ten Centimeteres Part 10

Ah... Her gaze softened at this thought.

Maybe the two of them are similar to one another after all. The reason why she felt drawn to him must be because his eyes are the same as hers. The look in his eyes when nobody else is watching. What sorrows and burden has he experienced? All alone? One day Lyn wants to ask him. Will the day come where she can freely ask him such questions?

She wonders if she can one day learn to be honest with him like she did with Kazuya. It would be cruel of her to compare the two, so she tried to avoid it as much as she could.

Ever since she started doing this stuff with Rhys, the images of a burned down the Mist Kingdom, building in ashes has disappeared. Perhaps Rhys is the key to this destruction, her nightmare. If she stays with him, could she get rid of his hate towards her mother and the Kingdom?

Lyn already knew her answer to that. Whether it's Kazuya or Rhys, neither of them will give up their revenge. She knew that better than anybody, and yet she clings to them like this. When did she become such a selfish person?

Rhys broke the kiss briefly, "Lyn, you're sweating a lot."

"I feel hot," Lyn admitted.

"The window is open, love."

She knows that, but she can't get rid of the burning sensation in her legs, arms, and chest. She wanted nothing more than to get rid of her clothes.

Unfortunately, though this feeling didn't last long, Lyn felt bile rise to her throat and she quickly urged him of her. She turned to the mini sink on the side and threw up. Rhys patted her back.

"Lyn, don't think about Kazuya too much. He won't die, and he will come back."

"I'm not worried."

"Sure, you're not." Rhys sighed. He ran his hands through his hair. "I have some meetings to go to. Will you be fine here?"

For a moment, Lyn was surprised. She just threw up, and he will leave her? "I still feel very sick."

Rhys glanced over at the clock on the wall. "Is there time? I don't want to leave you…"

'So if given a chance, he will stay?' Her gaze softened. "I will be fine," Lyn interjected. "Quickly go to your meeting. It's important, right?"

Rhys nodded. "I will come back quickly. Call me if you need me," he grabbed hold of her hands and squeezed it. He brushed his lips against her ear. "You know how to, right?"

"I know."

He kept kissing behind her ear, and for a few minutes, Lyn remained still.

"You don't refuse anymore. But I know you don't like me that way. Hey, is this acting?" Rhys muttered.

"It's acting."

"Honestly, you're too blunt."

Lyn laughed. "Want to stop?"

Rhys shook his head, "I won't." he stood up and fixed his clothing up. Lyn watched as he picked up a few scrolls on the side and passed it to her. "You wanted to learn the eastern ancient scriptures, right?"

"Ah, is this…" Lyn looked at the scrolls with wide eyes. Did he get them for her?

"Yeah, I managed to get some for you. The letters should be easy in these ones. But if you're stuck, use the book I gave you."

"Thank you."

With a few more words, Lyn watched as Rhys left the room. 'He seemed to be in a hurry..' She hesitantly looked towards the window. Should she… Lyn immediately shook her head. 'Don't do something stupid.'

There are some things she is best off, not knowing.

Sometimes Rhys comes back with the scent of another woman. Whenever she thought to ask him, Lyn would stop immediately. She would see the look in his eyes, and … Her thoughts broke off when she heard the sound of tapping on her window. Lyn looked over cautiously.

The distance between the window and her bed wasn't that large. But Lyn still had to use her crutches to walk over. It was harder than she thought it would be. Lyn didn't realize how much Rhys has spoiled her the last few days. But at the same time. 'Him carrying her everywhere means she can't walk properly using crutches.'

She raised her hand, and hesitantly opened the curtain. The moment she did, she saw Rhys.

"Did you forget--"

Rhys bent down and brushed his lips against her neck. "So I forgot to ask. Do you want to go on a walk in the garden later? I have a surprise for you."

A walk? Usually, she would be up for it, but with the state of her legs, it would be difficult.

"I will carry you, so relax. So say yes," he mumbled. "I want to take you out. Sorry, this is the only thing I can think of."

"Rhys…"

She already knew what he meant by going out. Unfortunately, even if she isn't innocent as she made herself out to be. Lyn still doesn't know how to react towards advances from the opposite gender.

Rhys is very bold about it too. He is completely different than Kazuya. Lyn was about to reply when they hear the sound of somebody calling his name. She glanced over and surprisingly spotted brother Zepher.

'Now that she thought about it, don't they spend a lot of time together lately?' Lyn wouldn't have a problem with this if they were just hanging out. But she knew Zepher quite well. She tugged on the edge of Rhys sleeve and asked worriedly. "Where are you two going?"

"Out."

"But---" Lyn knew it was still dangerous outside. The rioting and the Stone Kingdom people occupying the main town.

"Relax, I know what I'm doing. The fool down there too seems to be good at sneaking around."

Indeed, brother Zepher is very good at that. How many years did he hide?

"Still worried? I have the amulet you gave me. I will be fine."

Lyn glanced over at the pendant around his neck. "Keep it on, no matter what."

"Mmm, I shall."

With a few more words, Rhys quickly leaped back down. Lyn watched him land on the ground successfully. 'What's with the Sound Kingdom people and jumping from high places?' Lyn steadied herself and crutches in hand; she gradually made her way over to the bed.

Lyn immediately slumped down on the bed and sighed. She wonders when did everything become so complicated? Her gaze fell on her reflection on the side mirror, and she immediately noticed something. There were strange markings on her neck and shoulders. Lyn abruptly sat up and examined it.

Her cheeks colored red when she realized what it was. 'That guy!! Isn't he taking advantage of her too much?' It's true pretending to be close with him intimately would get her sister off her back for a while. But how much further could she take this?

It doesn't seem like Rhys intends to stop. That person, if she doesn't stop him, will continue further, won't he? Turning to Allen is no longer an option. She isn't that shameless. What can she do about this? Does she even like Rhys anymore?

Lyn didn't understand her emotions. Silver would surely get angry if he knew what she was thinking right now. There is no time to deal with this. But Lyn traced her lips, 'Even though he acts that way, why does he kiss her so gently?'

A cold drift of wind entered the room, and Lyn shivered. She looked around and easily found something to cover her up. She glanced over at his cloak, which she shrugged of earlier and picked it up. She brought it around her shoulders.

Rhys cloak was warm, and it smelled like him. Traces of smoke and that perfume again. It felt familiar. Where did she smell that before?
