Volume 1 - CH 2.2

Name:No-Rin Author:Shirou Shiratori
“Trouble…?”

Could she mean… that?

A space princess comes to an ordinary high school boy and a thrilling romantic comedy unfolds…

“Kosaku, that’s not trouble, that’s To Love Ru.” (TN Note: Trouble would be pronounced ‘Too-ruh-boo’ and the manga series mentioned would be pronounced ‘Too Ruh-boo Ru’ so it’s a pun)

Did she just read my mind?

“She has been in the entertainment world since she was young, and been working nonstop as a top idol. Overworked, feeling sick, being harassed by jealous people… you can think of any number of reasons why she moved here right?”

“But Sensei…”, Kei objects. “I can understand if she chose this school to hide herself from the media and the public, but if she has some illness wouldn’t she rather go to a hospital?”

“Yeah. That’s how our school comes into play.”

“Hmm?”

With a divine look on her face, Becky speaks in as if she was John the Baptist prophesying the appearance of the savior Jesus.

“The possibilities of agriculture are endless… Mother earth’s bounty gives us not only crops but also healing…”

“Oh yeah! They call that ‘Biotherapy’, right?”

“Pie Therapy?”

“What the hell is that?”

Kei explains it for Minori and me who had tilted our heads in confusion.

“Biotherapy is a generic term for horticultural therapy and animal care therapy. It’s a therapy that utilizes the healing effect that comes from coming in contact with plants and animals. It can also be called agricultural therapy.”

“I’m still not sure…”

“Raising animals and growing crops warms and fills your heart, doesn’t it?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s what it is.”

Is that so..?

“So in other words, Yuka-tan came to this school in search of healing because she was physically and mentally exhausted from over working and crazy stalkers?”

As I ask that Becky speaks up. “To tell you the truth… Sensei has been through that too”

Even though nobody was asking, Becky looked far away and started talking on her own.

“You see… Sensei is a bit different from other people isn’t she?”

“You could say that…”

Not in the way she thinks though.

“So when I was in high school the girls in my class said various things to me as if we were going to hammer things out…. There were so many things I didn’t like… So Sensei I understand how Kinoshita-san feels.”

“Uh huh…”

I wonder if she feels one with her…

“There were so many things going on… Rumors circulating that were baseless, scribbles on textbooks, things left in slippers…”

“You mean like thumbtacks…?”

“Yeah. I would put slices of be liver.”

“You did that? Slices of liver sashimi?”

That’s awful. Even when you take it out the smell stays and you can’t wear them again. In a ways it’s worse than thumbtacks.

“….I see. I get the point.”, says Kei to cut Becky’s revealing story short. “But Sensei, there is still something that doesn’t make sense about Kinoshita Ringo’s transfer.”

“You mean her credits?”

“That’s right.”

Credits?

“Kei? What do you mean credits..?”

Baababap Bababap – ♪

As I was about to ask, cheerful music erupted from the immediate vicinity. It’s a phone’s ringtone.

“Oh sorry sorry. That’s mine.”

“Hey there! You shouldn’t do that right Nakazawa-san? I have my phone set to vibrate…”

“I..I’m sorry…”

Minori hurriedly took out her phone and turned off the ringtone. Seriously, this idiot… Having your phone ring in the middle of school is a serious violation of manners. Of course a teacher would get angry.

“So teacher, to continue where we left off…”, and then I got cut off again.

Buzzz Buzzz

“Jeez Minori! Turn off your cel phone already”

“N..no! It’s not me!”

“Then who…”

“Ah, sorry.”

Becky puts her hand in her skirt pocket.

“Sensei’s phone was vibrating.”

“What are you doing?!”

“Don’t worry. Sensei is always set to Manners Mode – ☆”

Well that makes me feel at ease then…

“Please stop with the dirty jokes. Now what do you mean by credits?”

“Credits are credits..”

“Yes, and what are those..?”

Kei put his hand on my shoulder and said, “Calm down Kosaku. It’s a school credit.”

“Shinkoshi Gakuen is a normal school right? So she has 0 agricultural credits right? Am I wrong?”

“Ah.”

That’s right. This is an agricultural high school. Of course the classes here aren’t taught in normal schools. Since Yuka-tan is a transfer student, she wouldn’t have any credits for the subjects taught in this school. She’s going to have to repeat a year.

I look at Kei and ask, “Then… what will she do?”

Kei looked at Becky and asks, “What will she do Sensei?”

“She’ll take supplementary lessons.”, replies Becky.

I see. So that’s how it is. You have to take supplementary lessons if you don’t have enough credits. That seems natural. But what she said next didn’t sound as natural.

“So I want everyone to help Kinoshita-san with her supplementary lessons.”

“Whaaaaaat?!”, we all exclaimed.

We are all shocked by Becky’s bombshell remark.

“S..sensei? Does that mean the 3 of us..?”

“Yup. That’s why I told you all about Kinoshita-san. I’ve already prepared the rice paddies and fields for supplementary lessons.”

“Whaaa? Wait a minute, wait a minute! What the hell is that?!”

Minori is angry, she leans forward and approaches Becky.

“I don’t care if she is Genozin or an idol, why would you go to such lengths for the sake of a single transfer student? And we have to help with that? That’s stupid!” (TN Note: I think Genozin is a famous person in Japan?)

“Nakazawa-san, is there something wrong?”

“It’s a big deal! If we do that Ko-tan is going to be with that girl!”

Minori walks back to me with a sneer. “Anyways about that. Why us?”

“Because Kinoshita-san is a dorm student.”

…What?

“So maybe I should ask everyone in the dorm to help her? I was thinking… you’re all in the same class and major. Yay Becky! I’m so smart! ”

Everyone is speechless. So basically… schools, dormitories, classes, practical training, supplementary lessons, anytime, anywhere, all day, all the time, ALL THE TIME! I will get to be with Yuka-tan. I am in heaven.
