Chapter 60 - The Wife

"Even if they are, is it really our place to bother about such things?" The Head Secretary smiled slightly. "CEO Xie is our boss, he can do whatever he wants to do, and no one will be able to go against him.

"Now you are trying to target the one who we presume is his woman, do you think he will let you go? Be more honest in the future and serve her well; if you don't, you might find yourself fired."

The Head Secretary was personally against the idea of going through the backdoor, and she also disdained Yu Huiyin slightly, but she would never act on those emotions as she knew what was important and what was not.

In front of absolute power, everyone had to bow down, and Xie Jingyu was the supreme power in the Xie Corporation. As long as he was there, no one could go against him.

So annoying someone who clearly had his favor was not a good idea. Even if you were indignant and frustrated about Yu Huiyin suddenly appearing and walking through the backdoor, everyone had to keep it in and endure.

However, while the ordinary white-collar workers were all hostile towards Yu Huiyin, all the upper class employees were much more polite and eager to please her.

They had not forgotten how Xie Jingyu had accidentally displayed his wedding certificate in front of everyone, and seeing how he was pampering this woman to the skies, they added two and two together, and they instantly knew that this woman was not a casual fling, but his wife.

There was a big difference between a lover and a wife. When one was dating, no one knew what might happen and whether or not they would end up together, but as long as they were married, they would be a lifelong couple.

Since Yu Huiyin was his wife, she was naturally someone they needed to get on the good side of. She was their golden ticket to success!

While the main office was split into two groups, one who disdained and disliked her, and one that admired and wished to use her, Yu Huiyin was busy sorting the doc.u.ments she had been given.

She completely lost track of time, her eyes only focusing on the accounts in front of her, and she started getting faster and faster at dealing with the doc.u.ments. However, she never rushed and was constantly doing her best.

She was so engrossed in the doc.u.ments that she forgot to drink the tea and eat any of the fruits that the Head Secretary had prepared for her, the only thing that existed in her mind was finishing her task.

This was also what greeted Xie Jingyu as he returned to the office. Yu Huiyin was flipping through two files at the same time, comparing them, recalculating, and cross-checking, making sure that the results were the same on both sides.

She was so engrossed that she did not even hear the door open. Looking at her, it was clear that her eyes were sparkling with excitement, and her lips had curled into a smile. She clearly enjoyed the task she had been given.

Xie Jingyu felt his heart soften as he looked at her, and he smiled slightly. He then walked forward, only to find that she still had not paid him any attention, and his smile vanished and was soon replaced by a frown.

It was good that she liked her job, but she should not overlook him. He had to be her first priority at all times!

Not caring about how domineering he was, Xie Jingyu took the doc.u.ments out of Yu Huiyin's hands to look at them, and Yu Huiyin finally raised her confused eyes to look at him.

"You are back!" she exclaimed happily, and all the gloom after not having been noticed before vanished without a trace.

"Mhm, I am," he said happily and caressed her hair affectionately. "Have you been busy while I was gone?" he asked as he looked at the untouched fruits and tea by her side.

"I like this job," she said with a great smile on her face, "I plan on finishing these doc.u.ments before going to the canteen and getting some lunch."

"I will take you out for lunch," Xie Jingyu said, not giving her the chance to refuse him.

"Well, then I want Sichuan Cuisine."

Yu Huiyin was looking at Xie Jingyu with big eyes, her lips curled into a smile. In his mind, he once again saw her a little puppy, wagging its tail and waiting for a treat.

"Sure," he agreed. "We will go for Sichuan Cuisine for lunch."

"Yay!" Yu Huiyin was happy, and she once again threw herself over the work with renewed energy. She was feeling immensely grateful that the man she had married was Xie Jingyu; he was indeed the best man she had ever met.

As they were seated behind their own desks, high ranking staff members came to and from the office, and all of them were looking curiously at Yu Huiyin, but none of them dared to say anything or interrupt her as she seemed too focused on her work.

They were even afraid of reporting to Xie Jingyu in fear of interrupting her and being caught by his anger.

Yu Huiyin was good at ignoring what was going on around her. Although she heard the door open and close from time to time, she never once raised her head, nor did she listen in on the conversations between Xie Jingyu and his employees. All she did was focus on her own task.

Finally, as the time ticked close to half-past one, Yu Huiyin eventually stretched her body, and a smile adorned her face.

"I finished it!" she said happily.
