Chapter 40 - Forming Doubts

Yu Huiyin reached the garage that she had bought long ago. It was locked with a heavy chain, and only she had the key. As she opened the garage door, a big beautiful motorcycle was seen.

"Stay here and watch it," Yu Huiyin ordered Hui Liqiang before she hurried to her old flat, changed into her leather outfit, which she always wore when riding the motorcycle, and she hurried out again.

She was wearing a helmet that hid her facial features, but even so, her attractive and alluring figure was enough to drive any man insane. The figure-hugging leather clothes were accentuating her figure perfectly. Even Hui Liqiang was stunned when he saw her like this.

Yu Huiyin was used to people taking a second glance at her whenever she was dressed up like this, so she thought nothing of it, and instead swung onto the motorcycle before she drove to the place where they had parked the Land Rover.

Here she waited for Hui Liqiang, and when he arrived, the two of them returned to her new home, one driving a car and the other riding a motorcycle.

The return trip was smooth, and they encountered no obstacles. Yu Huiyin was also relaxed and happy when she was riding her motorcycle; the wind pressed against her, and she felt the speed as the surroundings rushed past her.

As she returned to the modern mansion, Hui Liqiang did not leave. From now on, he would be staying at the mansion as well, so that when Yu Huiyin needed to leave, he would always be ready.

But as Yu Huiyin made her way to the master bedroom with her phone in hand, Hui Liqiang was not feeling positive. He knew that although she had not asked any questions about him being familiar with a gang member, she was not dumb and would not let it go smoothly.

As such, Hui Liqiang picked up his phone and dialed his boss's number. He was slightly scared. Although Xie Jingyu was meek as a sheep in front of Yu Huiyin, it was only in front of her that he was like this. To the rest of them, he was a nightmare, a demon, and a man they respected more than anyone else.

Seeing that Hui Liqiang was calling him, Xie Jingyu put the papers aside and answered the call.

"Has anything happened to Huiyin?" This was the first thing that Xie Jingyu asked, he was worried about her, but Hui Liqiang was not sure how to continue.

The sudden silence on the other end of the phone made Xie Jingyu worried. "Tell me, what happened?" His voice was dangerously low and cold.

"We went to fetch her motorcycle at the slums today," Hui Liqiang had no choice other than to explain what had happened. "When we went there, a small-time gang member was a friend of hers, and he recognized me. It was rather awkward. He said nothing, but I can feel that some doubts are forming in Miss Yu's mind."

Xie Jingyu turned silent for some time, and Hui Liqiang was simply too worried even to breathe. "It's not your fault," Xie Jingyu finally said with a sigh, his brain was churning out idea after idea about how to solve this issue.

Xie Jingyu had not spent much time together with Yu Huiyin yet, but he understood her well already.

If doubts had begun forming in her mind, then she would, without a doubt, try to get answers. The fact that she had not tried to pry answers out of Hui Liqiang was because she knew it was impossible, hence she had to find it elsewhere.

And since he had gifted her with a smartphone, it would not be a difficult task to find information about him. Although no one had anything on him to say that he was indeed involved in the underground world's dealings, the rumors were there.

He picked up his phone and moments after all the news outlets which had previously written about the rumors had volunteered to take down those particular articles.

It was done so efficiently that by the time Yu Huiyin reached the bedroom, no trace of these rumors could be found online.

So when Yu Huiyin threw herself onto the bed and began searching the internet for news about Xie Jingyu, all she found was his legal information.

She was shocked to find that he was the wealthiest tycoon in the entire country, that his business had reached its paws oversea, and that it was climbing to become the most prominent company in the world.

The company had deep roots in the Xie family, but it was under his hands that it had truly grown. The Xie Corporation was indeed a hegemon in the world of business.

She found out about Xie Jingyu's background and company, but no matter how much she searched, she could not find anything about him being connected to gangs.

Since she could find nothing, Yu Huiyin felt a bit calmer. Perhaps Hui Liqiang really just had turned over a new leaf and wanted to live as a law-abiding citizen, hence becoming a bodyguard.

This made sense. A member of the upper reaches within a gang would not come out and play the role of a bodyguard, that was beneath their worth, and would make them upset.

Thinking like this, Yu Huiyin suddenly became much calmer and happier, but she was still somewhat stunned to find out that Xie Jingyu was the richest man in the country, and that he had been crowned the most wanted bachelor for years.

It was no wonder that he really wanted to get rid of all these rumors. So she was pleased to work together with him.
