Those were the messages that popped up on Dave's screen as he made his way down the tunnel with his teammates.

'It's pretty nice seeing numbers in front of me today.' He said subconsciously. 'What about my post-match rewards?'

[ Victory rewards ]

[ One crucial save: +10 exp ]

[ Goals conceded (0): +100 exp ]

[ Match rating: 7.2 ]

'Oh, that doesn't look flashy.'

<Well, three really wasn't much for you to do in this match just like the previous one>

'Yeah, I hope Tereville City will put up more of a fight.'

<I'm pretty sure they won't, but we'll have to wait and see, at this point I know it's pointless to judge teams based on their current form>

Mateo was handed the man of the match award, I guess assisting the first goal and scoring the second was what sold it for him but it's not like anybody had any problems with it.

Securing this victory against Ballena United made sure that they stayed right where they were in the title race, right in between Supreme United and Dynamo FC as both teams also won their matches that day to hold on to their spots.

With Ballena United now taken care of successfully, Unique FC were now approaching their last for the first half of the season and they had to win the match to make sure they ended the first half of the season in second place assuming that Dynamo FC would also win their match that day.

_______ _______

Two days later and the day for the match came, Tereville City had to travel to Unique City to take on Unique FC in the Wondanimo stadium.

The atmosphere was quite lively in the stadium and that was because the Wondanimo stadium and Tereville Hogar had the wildest atmospheres in the whole of the Bilbeth Premier League so this was pretty much expected whenever they met for a match.

At some point, it just sounded like they were just trying to drown each other's voices and that was making the atmosphere even wilder.

Tereville City were currently sitting in mid-table, eleventh place to be precise, and winning this match wouldn't really do anything for them at the moment, but they had to win it to at least give themselves a start in recovery.

Their last three matches had all ended in draws so they were hoping that wouldn't also be the case here today, but then again, they were up against the most in-form team in the league at the moment so grabbing a win was going be pretty tough.

Tereville City were going to be the ones starting the game from the kick-off spot, and as soon as the referee blew his whistle, the game kicked off.

Tereville City did quite well in keeping hold of the ball and they successfully managed to keep it away from Unique FC until they won a free kick right at the edge of the box.

"Oh, now, that's a chance to do something, their first goal in their last match came from a free kick in the eighth minute, are we going to see a repeat here?" Jim broadcasted.

"Um…we have Dave in the goalpost so I'm leaning toward unlikely but let's see how things turn out," Steve replied.

The person standing over the ball now was a player with the number ten written below the name Nick on the back of his jersey.

Nick was Tereville City's standard right winger but because they were playing four-four-two in this match, he had to switch to Right midfielder (RMF).

He was one of the best free-kick takers so far this season, converting four out of sixteen set pieces.

"He scored a free kick in their last match, can he get a consecutive one here?"

He had his gaze on Unique FC's four-man wall inside the box as the referee made sure that everything was ready.

After making sure that everything was ready, the referee blew his whistle and now it was time to see what the winger could do.

He didn't move immediately and took his time before slowly taking two steps backward.

After that, he paused for a while before he let out a deep breath and came rushing toward the ball, as soon as he got close enough to the ball, he pulled his right leg back and fired the ball toward the goalpost.

"Nick!"

The ball was sent flying toward the top right-hand side of the goalpost and it looked quite close, but Devon was able to get to it right on time to send it over the bar with both of his hands.

"Oh, that was so close," Jim commented.

"I said it was unlikely, Dave hasn't conceded a single goal from free kicks this season and he keeps that going," Steve said. "That said, they have a corner kick to deal with now."

The players from both teams were running around inside the box now.

As soon as the player standing in the spot heard the whistle he immediately sent it flying into the box, but he made the mistake of placing it too close to the goalpost as Dave was able to easily spring up and grab it before things got confusing for him.

"Well, that's all of Tereville's chance in the mud, could have done better with that but it's all in the past now," Jim commented.

The match continued with Unique FC finally in possession of the ball but Tereville City weren't making things easy for them when it came to attacking.

It was like they knew every single one of their moves and had them blocked.

This would force the home team to slowly retreat with the ball whenever they got close to their box. Mateo attempted to force his way through but he almost lost the ball in the process so that was out of his options for now.

Unique FC were just moving the ball around now, mostly I'm their own half while looking for a way through.

"Looks like they're out of options here, they'll have to come up with something quick."

Minino received the ball from Martinez, and just before the player heading toward him could get to him, he sent the ball rolling back to Martinez who immediately sent it rolling to Roland up front.

Roland moved down the wing a little with the ball before he found Ferran and sent the ball over to him.

"Ferran tried."

Ferran feigned moving toward the right with the ball before he suddenly turned and sent it rolling to Mateo who quickly took off down the wing with it as soon as he got his foot on the ball.

He knew he wouldn't be able to get far on his own though which was why he sent the ball flying over to Merino as soon as he got the chance.

Merino brought the ball down with his chest and quickly took off down the wing with an opposing player right on his trail.

Just as he got close to the line and was about to attempt sending it in, the ball was quickly swept off his feet and out of play.

The winger tumbled past the line due to that challenge and raised his hand calling for a foul but it didn't look like the referee was going to give it.

"I think that looked like a foul right there but I don't think the referee has anything to say about it." Jim expressed.

"Well, they have a corner kick to deal with now," Steve said.

Ferran was standing over the ball now in the corner spot with everyone else running around near and inside the box and the referee making sure that nothing was out of place.

After confirming that everything was fine, the referee blew his whistle and now it was time for Ferran to send the ball flying in.

Instead of crossing the ball in for his teammates, it seemed like the midfielder went for the goal himself as the ball curved toward the left side of the goalpost and ended up hitting the post.

"What was that?!"

Mateo was in a good position to get his hand on the rebound but he wasn't the only one as one of the defenders quickly raised his leg toward the ball.

Mateo ended up being the one to get his head to the ball, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop the ball from falling into the goalpost.

"And Mateo puts it in!" Jim exclaimed as the winger took off to the sidelines with his teammates right behind him but just as he got there, he crashed down to the floor with his hand on his jaw.

"Um…what's going on?"

Ferran quickly checked on the winger to see that he had blood in his mouth and it didn't look like it was coming from a small bleeding.

Jim and Steve looked at the replay of that goal to see that the defender who had gone for the ball at the same time as the winger ended up hitting his jaw with his boot.

"Oh, dear, that doesn't look good."
