Chapter 412 Pretty Tough

With Unique FC now leading four goals to one, Ballena United were getting more and more lackluster.

They seem to have lost that little bit of spark that they had in the first half, it was negligible with what Unique FC were doing but at least it was something.

The home team were bossing the game and they just didn't have any chance.

The match also seemed to have lost whatever form of spark it had in the first half because it was once again Unique FC bullying another team just like they did against Spree United.

Right at the seventieth minute, the home team got their fifth goal and that was where everyone who was still hoping that Ballena United would be able to do something at least decided that it was game over.

The goal came from a corner kick, Ferran sent the ball in neatly and Adolf made no mistake in putting it into the back of the net.

After that, the match dragged on till the ninetieth minute and the seventh minute of added time when the referee decided to blow his whistle and bring everything to an end.

"There's the whistle, it is all over," Jim said. "Unique FC just placed their stamp of superiority on the pitch, Ballena United just stood no chance."

It was all smiles on the faces of Unique FC players and Ballena United players had disappointed looks on their faces, they had a lot of expectations coming into this match but they just weren't prepared enough for the challenge.

Fredinho was announced as the man of the match which was very well expected, his performance here today was quite phenomenal, especially with the hat trick.

"Unique FC are really fighting hard for the title this season and with this win, the title race is still looking as spicy as ever, they still have Supreme United three points ahead of them and Dynamo FC two points behind them, how will the next matches play out?" Jim expressed.

"We'll just have to wait and see," Steve said.

After greeting the fans, the players had to make their way down the tunnel and while they were heading down there, Dave decided to have a little chat with Catherine.

'So, um…how are my post-match rewards today?' He asked subconsciously.

<You'll have to see that for yourself>

'Wow, so I walked away from this match with no experience points at all.'

<It wasn't my fault>

'Well, it's not my fault either, those guys can't attack.' He said subconsciously. 'But, it's okay, I just hope our next match will be a bit tougher than this.'

<Be careful what you wish for>

'What? I said a bit tougher, not tedious.'

<Oh, so you're afraid of tedious matches now>

'I never said I was, I know I can handle it, and even if I can, I have thirty-five star points lying around. The only problem is that if the team can't handle it then things become difficult for me, this is a team sport you know.'

<That's a good way to put it>

With Ballena United done away with it, at least for this half, Unique FC were going to be facing Razid FC next.

Razid FC were currently in seventeenth place and were struggling to make it out of the relegation zone so it was pretty obvious that all odds were pointing toward Unique FC winning or trashing them to be precise.

Despite being on the home ground of Razid, it didn't take long before Razid FC drowned out the voices of Razid FC players with their own voices.

The atmosphere appeared to be quite lively now thanks to the away fans, to anyone else at least, to the supporters of Razid this was quite intimidating and the same could be said about the players.

The match started out quite fine with Razid FC keeping hold of the ball and moving it around mostly on their own half, but the moment they tried to attack, they lost the ball and Unique FC made sure to punish them properly for leaving their back open like that.I think you should take a look at

Mateo set Fredinho up for a one-on-one after receiving the ball from Roland and the striker did not disappoint as he put the ball over the goalkeeper and into the goalpost as soon as he got close enough to him.

The reaction from the fans as soon as that ball went in was a wild one and Fredinho didn't fail to celebrate in a wild way.

Unique FC started up things with a bang as expected but that was the only bang anyone heard in the first half as Unique FC were unable to properly get past Razid FC's defense and get a goal and Razid FC couldn't even get a shot against them talk more of getting one on target.

The match continued like that with Unique FC mostly struggling to find the back of the net until the referee finally blew his whistle twice to bring the first half to an end.

This was quite a first half as the statistics board clearly showed how much dominance Unique FC had over Razid FC.

They had twelve shots with six being on target while Razid FC had zero shots toward their goalpost.

They had sixty-nine percent ball possession while Razid FC had whatever was left of that.

It looked like the home team were packing the bus which really isn't something they should be doing as they were one goal down, but that wasn't really what they were doing.

Yes, they were being a bit too defensive but they weren't putting everyone there to do the job and were still trying their best to move the ball forward and get a goal but that never worked out well for them till the first half came to an end.

Norman didn't really didn't anticipate them doing this so he had to try and figure out something in the locker room before the players would be called.

He managed to come up with something ɍt were called back for the second half but there was no particular way to tell if it was going to work or not.

The second half kicked off with Unique FC mostly stalling with the ball and trying to see if anything had changed with Razid FC.

It looked like something did because the defenders were starting to leave their line a bit and that was the opportunity Ferran used to set Mateo up.

That could have been a very nice goal for the winger but unfortunately, he was caught offside, and before he could do anything with the ball, the referee blew his whistle.

Razid FC seemed to have loosened up on their defense a bit, but that force was transferred to their attack immediately.

They were starting to get shots off now and were so close to scoring with a tricky shot.

The ball was sent flying toward the left side of the goalpost but before it could get there, it hit Norman and immediately deflected toward the right.

Fortunately, Dave didn't react too fast when he saw the ball coming so he was fast enough to get to the ball on the right and stop it.

That was a close call there because there was a chance that Dave wasn't going to save that and nobody was going to blame him, most of the blame would be on Norman instead.

'It's a good thing you got me to do that deflection training.' The goalkeeper said subconsciously before he sent the ball flying out.

<Yeah, but you know you still haven't completed the last level, you've been avoiding it for a while now>

'Hey, don't bring that up now.'

The match continued with both teams still finding it hard to find the back of the net until the eightieth minute when Mateo just got tired and decided to take everyone on.

He did pretty well until he got into the box where he was brought down by two players.

That was a penalty for the away team and the winger did quite well to send the goalkeeper the wrong way and put it away giving his team that two-goal lead.

That was all they'd been looking for and now they could see the match to its end.

They slowed down with their attacks to avoid making any mistakes and conceding against their opponents.

That worked out quite well for them as they were able to see the match through to the ninetieth minute.

Razid FC knew it was over as soon as the official with the board raised it to show that there was going to be only three minutes of added time.

Unique FC were the ones with the ball at that moment and all they did was just stall the game with their passes until the three minutes was completed and the referee blew his whistle thrice to bring the match to an end.
