Chapter 259 259: Annihilation Of The Tribes

This situation proved that fortune aura is not an omnipotent thing. As long as the variable is strong enough, the fortune aura would turn useless or have little effect

"In fact, the reason why the representatives that the Waterside Tribe met are kinder than the others might be because of Stone Head's fortune aura"

"Instead of meeting representatives that would resort to the use of force and killing, the Waterside Tribe met Wermon and Philome"

"Because of that, Stone Head's fortune aura might have been completely used up. He would return to being an ordinary person with an ordinary level of luck"

At that, Rezen nodded his head. Fortune aura is not omnipotent nor could it directly save the heavens' blessed but it could cause 'coincidences' to happen so that the blessed would survive

Aside from that, Stone Head's fortune aura is originally enough for him to reach the 3rd cycle but there's a high chance that his fortune aura was already completely spent. Any 'coincidence' that is affected by luck would reduce the heavens' blessed aura

"I see. It was really the right choice that I didn't plunder Stone Head's fortune aura. If not, we might have met one of those evil representatives" Rezen muttered as he gathered all of his belongings to choose the things he would take with him

"Master, as I have said before, heavens' blessed and realm's chosen are your great enemies and opportunities. In the City of Hope, there should be many heavens' blessed with fortune aura thicker than Stone Head's. They are Master's opportunities to grow stronger" Ivy reminded

From the time that Rezen learned what heavens' blessed is, Ivy already informed him that those kinds of people are his tickets to rise in power

What he should do is plunder the fortune aura of the heavens' blessed and the realm's chosen to use as his own. With enough fortune aura, Rezen could increase his natural aptitude in both the paths of cultivation of alchemists

While a realm could only have one realm's chosen, the realm could have as few or many heavens' blessed as it wants possessing different amounts of fortune aura

Since the City of Hope is the first and only city of humanity, there should be many heavens' blessed there. Not to mention, it surely always faces the threats of magic beasts that also have their own heavens' blessed

Fortune aura is not exclusive to humanity, all races could have that

"I know, Ivy" Rezen answered while clenching his fist. Who would have thought that as he was worrying about his lacking aptitude, a chance would be given to him?

In a city with hundreds of thousands or even millions of population, there should be many heavens' blessed living there. After all, while they are blessed by the heavens, the blessings are limited

Not every heavens' blessed would reach the peak of the realm. Even Stone Head that only has a fortune aura enough for him to reach the 3rd cycle exists

At the very least, there should be hundreds to thousands of heavens' blessed in the City of Hope

Rezen braced himself for a life filled with hardships and dangers as he organized his belongings and furrowed his brows

"Ivy, can I still store items?" Rezen asks. While in the earth realm, he has his storage and also spatial rings

However, all of his resources were converted into energy that helped him reach the Savage Beast Realm safely. His spatial rings were also destroyed in the process and only ripped clothes and the farm accompanied him in this entirely different realm

"Because of the laws of the realm, Master could only store items inside the farm itself" Ivy answered much to Rezen's relief

That means it is easy for him to hide things when necessary!

Rezen retrieved the nine bottles containing the Holy Sun Water and with his control, they floated and entered his stomach where his elixir field was located

When Rezen used his soul to enter the farm and saw that the nine bottles were placed inside and he returned his spirit back to his physical body

——

With the help of the Waterside Tribe, as soon as the hunting tribesmen returned, they move to meet with the other nearby tribes

With the existence of Philome and Wermon, even though they are traveling in a large group, no one died at the hands of the magic beasts

The two even lend the tribesmen some artifacts that would help them fight the coldness of winter

Magic artifacts are not just magic wands, magic swords, or flying sticks, that term is very broad and even day-to-day items as long as they worked with the aid of magic are called artifacts

"If we have this sun globe in the past, many wouldn't die from the past winter" Stone Head commented as he stared at the floating globe emitting warmth that battled against the winter cold

Next to him was Rezen that nodded his head in agreement. This is the difference between a primitive society and a developed one

The tribesmen could barely fight against the cold while the ones from the city brought these artifacts as if they already expected this kind of situation

There is the choice of returning to the Waterside Tribe after Philome and Wermon convinced the other nearby tribes but they said that time is tight and they have to return to the City of Hope as soon as possible

From that, Rezen could only guess that the situation in the city was really bad

The large procession was journeying toward the Fire Force Tribe with Wermon at the front and Philome behind protecting everyone

All magic beasts that they encountered would be easily killed by them considering that most are just beastlings with some Junior Beasts from time to time

"Hm?" Rezen noticed that the tribesmen in front of him had stopped walking and when he checked the situation he saw that in front of Wermon, a glowing silver talisman could be seen

"What? What happened?!" Wermon asked with a loud voice as if he can't believe the things he just heard

Out of curiosity, Rezen walked towards Wermon to check the situation and he heard a voice coming from the talisman

"It is as you have heard. The situation is abnormal and everyone is to head outside of the forest first to gather back at the flying ship. Keep your communication talisman active for the command center to keep tabs on your location"

"Please explain the situation to me first!"

"There is no time! This is the order of the command center. No one faced dangers yet but Sir Krulus don't want to lose anyone here"

After the few exchanges in words, the talisman dimmed a bit and no voice was coming from it again

"That's like the telephones from earth" Rezen thought while staring at the circular silver talisman

It should be a magic artifact used to make long-distance communication possible and from the sound of it, it might also have a location function

"Brother Wermon, what's happening?" Rezen can't help but ask. There seems to be a problem in the forest and Rezen naturally wants to know so that he could prepare for it

Wermon looked at Rezen as if he was contemplating whether he says it or not but after seeing the looks of the other tribesmen, he decided to speak the truth

"My colleagues noticed something abnormal in the tribes of the Drakery Forest. Almost every tribe that they encountered has been annihilated. There are many traces of battles between mages and most of the tribes only have corpses"

"There are some that survived but the command center didn't say much saying that there is no time and they would tell everything after everyone gathered at the flying ship" Wermon answered honestly and Rezen knitted his brows

Tribes are annihilated? In this forest, that is a common occurrence. However, to have this kind of reaction from the mages of the City of Hope, there should be something more to it

But what could possibly be the reason why an alarming number of tribes are annihilated at the same time?

"Wait... annihilated...?" Rezen muttered while furrowing his brows. It seems like he spoke out loud and Wermon asked him a question

"What? Do you know something?"

It's not that Rezen knows something but he has some suspicions. Whether his suspicions are connected to the annihilation of the tribes or not is still not known but it was better to say something

This situation after all might affect Rezen's safety

"I don't know if this has something to do with the situation but months ago, something weird happened" Rezen started and Wermon kept his silence, intending to listen to what Rezen had to say

"One of the nearby tribes suddenly gained not just one but two Junior Mages. This might be a common occurrence in the City of Hope but definitely not in our area. It was hard to grow one Junior Mage here much less suddenly have two of them at the same time"
