Chapter 602 - Why was she so happy?

Yun Xuan looked at Lin Ye once again, afraid she would miss something. Just when she gave up and was about to turn and leave the ward, she saw his hand move slightly.

"He really moved!" This time, she was sure that she was not seeing things. She had clearly seen it. She couldn't be wrong twice.

Not only did he move, his pulse rate and blood pressure changed slightly. She didn't notice this because she was looking at his hand to see if he would move his fingers again.

She quickly pressed the button to summon the doctor, her strange actions earning a curious glance form Yun Feng. What is mommy up to?

The doctor thought there was an emergency so she rushed in. "What happened?"

Yun Xuan was overjoyed. "He moved! Does that mean he is going to wake up?"

"Please excuse me. I will check his condition."

"Okay, okay!" Yun Xuan rushed out to give the doctor room to perform her magic.

A while later, she came out. Yun Xuan looked at her face, trying to  search for a tell tale sign.

"It's good news. The patient might wake up soon."

"I knew it! Thank you doctor. But how soon is 'soon' exactly?"

"According to the tests, two to four weeks. It might be more or less."

"Two… two to four?" It sounded much longer than she had expected.

"But at least there's hope now compared to last month." The smile returned to her face.

Leaving the hospital, she kissed her son's face in a flurry. "You are a lucky charm. Lin Ye showed signs of waking up just when I brought you to see him. Will he be better soon if I take you to see him again?"

Yun Xuan blabbered on, not knowing if she made any sense to begin with. How could Yun feng possibly affect Lin Ye's health? They had only met twice and were not even close to each other. Unless Lin Ye liked children so much, it shouldn't make any sense.

Meanwhile, the female doctor in the hospital was all smiles. She didn't like butting into people's affairs but this couple was too cute.

The man was so much in love with this woman that the screensaver of his phone was a picture of her. While the woman didn't seem to know it and only cared about him like a distant friend would.

But would all distant friends be like that? She was so overjoyed from the news of Mr. Lin waking up that she could fly! Not to mention, she had been asking about his condition so many times that it was more than just caring.

Perhaps the hospital stay had warmed her heart up a bit?

One had to know, she would drop by the hospital every day, bringing flowers to Mr. Lin's room.

Sometimes she would look indifferent as though she was just following a routine of sorts, while at other times she would look like a devoted wife awaiting her husband's recovery.

There were two other women who would also drop by once in a while; one of them had introduced herself as his employer while the other must be his sister – but neither of them was as caring as Miss Yun was.

Even as an outsider, she would realy be happy if these two ended up together.

Yun Xuan was so happy that she bought ingredients to cook a delicious meal. Even she didn't know what she was so elated about.

She brought a bowl of oatmeal porridge to the table, carried her son and sat him on the customized children's chair at the dining table. It was just the two of them today. Madam Yun was busy lately and didn't come to spend time with her like she did before.

"I'm going to drink wine later But you can't have it because you are a baby. Just make do with your milk, sorry!" She teased the little boy, who in turn looked fitful.

"Ma-!"

Yun Xuan chuckled, teasing him. "When you can say "mama" clearly, mommy will buy you toys for older children. For now, you only have to speak babies' language. Mommy understands you anyway.

Like other prematurely born children, Yun Feng's development was slightly slower. He had managed to sit up at the same age as other children would, crawled at the right time and noticed things around him quite earlier than usual. In the earlier months, she would see him touch everything he thought was new and put them in his mouth – and that included his own feet – but when it came to talking, he was slower to this.

One of her friends from Country G had a son slightly younger than Yun Feng but he could already pronounce a few words - though inaudibly.

If the doctor hadn't assured her that children learn to speak at different times and that he might be slower because he was a premie, she would be worried about it.

...

On a side note, Yun Xuan thought she should inform Lin Ye's family about his health progress.

Perhaps they didn't go to see him because they were unwilling to spend money on his medical fees. But they were still his family nonetheless so they had a right to know about how he was holding up, right?

"Should I pay them a visit… or perhaps I should ask Lin Lihua to tell them?" She thought aloud.

"No. I can't bother my boss anymore. I should just tell them. Maybe I should just send an email. Feng, what do you think?"

Yun Feng, who had been dragged into this unjustifiably, had nothing to say. His little expression seemed to say, you were simply speaking to the air and not caring about me. You even teased me for not being able to speak.  Now you want me to tell you my opinion?

Yun Xuan looked at his defeated expression and laughed. "How cute. If I didn't know better, I would think babies understood what adults say.

When she was done feeding the little boy, she carried him to his cradle.

'We should go to sleep now."
