Chapter 500 - Yun Jifeng was quite lucky

Name:My Beautiful Love Author:Avalorian_
Though Little Jia wondered with her little chin between her tiny thumb and index finger, how exactly did her little brother end up in her mommy's tummy? And how exactly would he arrive?

She did not dare to ask too many questions, however. "Mommy, daddy, are you guys hungry? Little Jia cooked for both of you."

"You did what?" Wan Jia and Lu Aotian almost fainted from shock.

Little Jia wondered why her parents had such a huge reaction. Was there something wrong?

The butler rushed to explain. "Master, little miss wanted to watch the chefs cook."

Wan Jia sighed in relief. So it was only watching.

"That's dangerous. You are not allowed to set foot in the kitchen until I decide that you are old enough." He said to her seriously.

"Yes. Got it daddy."

...

Once they were alone, Wan Jia was no longer interested in whatever the Lu brothers and Xia Rou were hiding. She only had one question to ask. "You have already finished Yun Wei off. Why are you still keeping Yun Jifeng around?"

Lu Aotian made her lie in bed first. "Because I found out that I shouldn't have schemed to have Yun Wei killed. I should have let the law take its course."

Wan Jia was not entirely surprised. He had vowed earlier that if Yun Wei was not sentenced to death, he would have him killed.

That was why, when he couldn't retrieve Yun Wei's medical records from the Yun mansion, he schemed to have Yun Jifeng indirectly kill him. Legally, Yun Wei should not have been punished. That was the painful truth but he could not bear it. To him, eveyone had to pay if they did anything wrong against him. It did not matter to him whether or not the law would allow it.

"Why do you sound guilty?" Wan Jia found that his tone was a little off.

"I'm not. Some of it was none of my business." He pulled the covers over her and kissed her forehead. "Honey, you are pregnant and your emotions should not fluctuate. I should not be telling you such things."

"It's alright. Nothing can shock me. However if you do not tell me, I will ask Shaoting and mother and if they do not tell me the truth either, I will investigate it on my own."

From her expression, Lu Aotian knew that she would really do it. That would be more dangerous than if he simply told her. "Since I don't want you to put yourself in danger, I will reluctantly tell you. Decades ago, the Lu family wronged the Yun family first. Yun Wei was simply revenging. That was why he spent all his life targeting the Lu family."

He did not say anything after that, making Wan Jia wonder what exactly the Lu family had done to make Lu Aotian speak using that kind of tone.

But she didn't ask about it. Sometimes it was safe to not know everything. "So you are not going to do anything to Yun Jifeng?"

Lu Aotian was idifferent. "I already started it. I may as well finish what I started." After all, the elders had their grudges but that was between them. Yun Jifeng had not good reason to mess with the Lu family but he did anyway. His revenge was not part of the late Elder Master Lu's business either.

Wan Jia did not expect this turn of events. After all these years, Lu Aotian was now claiming that it was the Lu family that was in the wrong? What kind of crazy joke was this?

But then she raised her eyebrow. Why was it that Yun Jifeng and his father was very eager to revenge, while the other members of the Yun family kept away from it? Some of them like Yun Xuan and Madam Yun even befriended her. Also, what about all those things he did to other families?

She found this explanation questionable. "Is that what my mother told you?"

"Yes. She told me a year ago that I should not deliberately harm anyone from the Yun family. It was only recently that she told me the reason."

Wan Jia blinked her eyes and rested her gaze on him, thinking deeply. "How can you be so certain that she knows the whole truth? Perhaps that's just what Yun Wei told her. It could be a lie. Can you really trust Yun Wei's  one sided story? Who knows, she might have trusted his word simply because they once had a thing in the past. Or she could have been blackmailed to make up this kind of lie to tell you. Her past is void. What do you know about her Lu Aotian?"

Lu Aotian looked at her speechlessly. Was there a daughter who spoke that way of her mother?

Although it was true that her past had been errased completely, he knew little about her only because he did not want to uncover his mother-in-law's secrets that she wanted to hide. That would be awkward; it was unnecessary because he trusted her after all.  "She had proof to accompany her words."

He was not one to be lied to. Even if Xia Rou had evil intentions and wanted to trick him, she would not dare lie to him.

Since he said that he had seen the evidence, she did not ask more. Though she wondered just what type of evidence would exist for all those years and end up in Xia Rou's hands, then be kept for almost thirty more years. Logically if Xia Rou got anything from the Yuns, it had to be before she was born. How long ago was that?

But she had to say, Yun Jifeng was rather lucky. Lu Aotian was previously prepared to torture him in the most painful way she had ever heard. It would be multiple times worse than Amy Blanc's. He was lucky that he was only going to suffer a little.
