Chapter 458 - You look like President Lu

Although she was smiling very warmly, it made Lu Shaoting's heart ache. He could imagine how it felt like to want to go to such a place as a toy and baby clothes store, when the doctors claimed that she could not have children. It must have broken her heart a million times. 

Speaking of which, how was it that despite that sort of report, she had gotten pregnant that fast? 

Could it be that her chances were truly that slim, and the heavens simply granted her wish that fast, or could someone have tempered with the medical report? 

His expression darkened. If someone tempered with the medical report, he would not be kind to them. 

For someone to make her, Lu Shaoting's wife, be depressed for all those years, were they seeking death? 

Su Ling felt chills down her spine. "Honey, is anything the matter? You look exactly like President Lu does when he is angry. Jeez...It's scary." 

Lu Shaoting saw that she was actually trembling and controlled his temper, making the murderous glint that was in his eyes a moment ago disappear. He reached out to hug her. "Don't be scared my love, I was thinking that I want to punish everyone who has ever made you suffer in the past. I will not let them off even if it turns out that your parents orchestrated it. I will make them pay for every tear that fell from your eyes."

Su Ling's heart raced, as though she had just recieved a piece of shocking news. "What are you talking about?" 

"Do you really think that if the impact of what you did those many years ago was that much, you would be able to concieve at this time? Don't you think it's too soon?" 

Su Ling frowned. Indeed, it made no sense at all. If she had been with other men before Lu Shaoting, she would have said that she had tried for years. But since that time, she had only been with Lu Shaoting. Indeed, she had asked herself questions before, but since no one could answer her, she had let it go. 

Now that Lu Shaoting had asked it, she could finally voice her doubts. 

"If I didn't take a test a hundred times and I was not feeling this way in my stomach, I would think that it was the pregnancy test report which was wrong. 

But since it was right, there could only be one possibility. My parents.."

She stopped her statement mid-speech, but Lu Shaoting understood it. "Your parents hired the doctors who ran tests on you, so they could lie about your inability to concieve?" 

Coming from his mouth, it did not sound like anything serious at all. Perhaps this was because he made it sound like a question. 

But, if those parents were not devils straight out of hell, was there anyone who would do that to their own child? What would they gain from it?

From Lu Shaoting's gaze on her, Su Ling could guess what his questions were. Was he wondering if it was possible for parents to tell such a lie to their daughter? 

She had already cried for this reason before and gotten over it, so right now she was all smiles. "They wanted to get rid of me. Who knows the limit of what they could do? Actually, I would not be too shocked." 

Lu Shaoting studied her expression to be sure that she was truly not sad. Women were strong sometimes and fragile at other times, but sometimes they would hide their sorrows behind their sweet and innocent smiles. If one was not careful enough, they would think that their wives had gotten over something, only to realize later that they had been sad all along. 

Only when he was sure that Su Ling's smile was not bitter and it bore no sadness did he retract his deep gaze. "I will get revenge for you." 

Su Ling held his hand and shook her head. "You do not need to waste your time and energy on such trivial matters." 

Jeez, she was trembling. She had been lucky thats he moved out of that house as soon her parents began to give her the cold shoulder and scold her every day that rose; about how  awful she was and what a huge shame she had brought upon the Su family. 

If she continued staying in that household, would they put drugs in her food? The kind of drugs that caused barrenness in women? 

Then, why on earth was it that when she visited her maiden home with Lu Shaoting, they were quick to talk about her inability to concieve and try to match make Lu Shaoting with Su Qianqian as the better choice, right under her nose? 

It was rather scary. 

She rubbed Lu Shaoting's hand with her own. "Honey, it is not worth spending your effort over. It will only waste your time." 

Lu Shaoting took her small hand and was about to speak. Did it matter if he wasted his time? All he cared was that he would have gotten revenge for her. 

Su Ling interrupted him. "The best form of revenge for such a thing is annoucing my pregnancy. It will be a huge slap in their faces. However, it is still too soon for that." They had agreed to announce it when she was about five months into her pregnancy, at the time when she could no longer hide it. 

At the time, would they commit suicide because their plot did not work? 

"Honey, can we not talk about that pair of devils in disguise of parents? Let's go to Adele's before you have to go back to work." 

"Alright, let's go now."
