Chapter 421 - Wife-slave Lu Shaoting

Lu Shaoting instantly stopped blabbering. "I won't speak any more nonsense." 

Su Ling took a bite and frowned. Not spicy at all. 

Lu Shaoting was quick to notice her reaction. "Honey, are you feeling unwell? Should I call the family doctor?"

Su Ling glared at him. "Shut up and eat your food." 

Lu Shaoting shut up, only to speak again a few seconds later. "Baby, I'm not dreaming, right? We are really going to be pa..." 

Su Ling shoved celery into his mouth. 

When he swallowed it, he looked at her and opened his mouth to say, "Honey..." 

Su Ling interrupted him with a fierce glare. "Lu Shaoting, one more word of crap from you and I'll really run off." 

Lu Shaoting got frightened. "Sorry my love, I won't spew nonsense anymore."

Su Ling smiled in satisfaction. Actually, she wasn't mad at him. She understood that he was still new to this and in disbelief for the most part. She just wanted to punish him a little for not letting her have spicy food or cook for him.

When they were done eating and Lu Shaoting had done the dishes, he dried his hands up carefully before hugging her. 

"Honey, I've been good. You won't run off with our baby, right?" 

Su Ling burst into laugher. 

Did men turn into their women's slaves when their women got pregnant? He was totally acting like one. 

As though saying that he was a good boy, she went on her tip toes and kissed his cheek. "I will not. I can't bear to." 

To reveal the good news to their family and closest friends, they would invite them for a meal in the old Lu residence. 

Lu Shaoting's closest friends were actually the three men he had been hanging out with frequently; Lu Aotian, Henry Blanc, Xu Liaowen and their wives. 

As for Su Ling's friends, sadly she had none except Lu Shaoting's closest friends. She couldn't invite her family to such a gathering either. That was a cluster of gold diggers and selfish monsters. Who knows, they might even try to make her miscarry. When Lu Tongyan was informed of his son's wish to invite his friends home for dinner, he knew something nice would follow. 

Perhaps he was going to propose to Su Ling? 

If that was the case, he wouldn't mind really. Although he had been against his second son being with that girl in the beginning, that was no longer the case.

She might have been a little bad in the past but she had proven to be genuinely kind and to truly love Lu Shaoting. 

Since she loved him whole heartedly, he was sure that she wouldn't leave him in case of hardships. Having both his sons experience heartbreaks wouldn't be fun. 

On another not, If the family didn't have an heir yet, he would be worried but they already had Little Jia. Don't get him wrong, he didn't have anything against foster children. It was just that sometimes, not everyone was grateful after being shown kindness. If an adoptive child took over the family business, what if they turned evil later and caused the company's downfall?

Aside from this, he was looking foward to holding Lu Shaoting's and Su Ling's babies. 

Actually, he was starting to wonder when his second son was going to take their relationship to the next level.

At dinner. 

The chefs had basically prepared a feast. Of course, Su Ling's dishes were more nutritious for pregnant women. No one actually realized this, they were simply following Second young master's orders and thought it was only for Wan Jia who was preparing for pregnancy 

Despite the short notice, everyone made time to come. 

That was except Henry Blanc who was in Country F. He would just be informed of the news later. His fiancée was present after all.

The Xus had been asked to bring the kids along to play since Little Jia would be there too. 

As usual, Little Jia and Tangtang clung to Lu Shaoting. This time Small Xixi (Xu Lingxi) was there too. While being fed by Kara, she still kept stretching her soft, tiny hands out, trying to grab onto Lu Shaoting from across the table. He was really so good with kids that they all loved him the most. 

After eating food, Lu Shaoting held Su Ling's hand. 

Wan Jia lowered her voice and made a guess "Is he going to propose?" 

Kara was seated next to her. "I think so too." 

Because she was at least ninety percent certain that Su Ling was pregnant. 

"Ahem...My Su Ling and I would like to announce that we are going to be parents." He said it all in one breath. 

"Whoa! Can you warn us before you break such huge news?" Xu Liaowen chocked on the water he was drinking and coughed violently. 

Wan Jia got up and hugged Su Ling, happy for her. "The heavens granted your greatest wish! Congratulations."

The women embraced each other for a long time.

Kara flashed a smile. "Congratulations to the both of you." 

Su Ling studied her face and when she was certain that the smile was genuine, she returned it. "Thank you." 

Although there was nothing between Kara and Lu Shaoting, she still couldn't bring herself to like Kara completely. It was still extremely awkward  between them, although Kara didn't feel the same way. Perhaps it was because she was Lu Shaoting's first love.

If she wasn't married and in love with Xu Liaowen, Su Ling would never trust her. 

Nonetheless, this was Wan Jia's friend. Based on this fact alone, she was convinced that Kara was not a bad person.
