Chapter 341 - You should stay a little longer

Henry Blanc had prepared the date at a high end restaurant in the capital. Because he didn't want it to particularly look like a date, his arrangements were not overboard. He booked a private room on the top floor with the best view, had soothing music play in the background and ordered Lin Lihua's favorite dishes and wine. He had got them from her social media profile and seen her eat them happily at Lu Aotian's North Side Villa.

As for the decoration, it was simply the restaurant's theme for dates with soothing music playing in the background.

As for his dress code, he was formally dressed and even had a bow tie.

Lin Lihua arrived a minute or two after their agreed time. She didn't make him wait for too long.

"You look stunning." Henry Blanc said with a smile when she arrived.

"Thank you." She had dressed up specifically for him. Of course she would look stunning. He looked handsome himself. So handsome she glanced at him for a second longer.

He presented her with a bouquet of lilies which she accepted with a smile. Like a gentleman, he pulled a chair for her. Lin Lihua gracefully took a seat.

When the meals were served, she was awed. A certain someone had done his homework on her.

Seeing the atmosphere and hearing the sweet tune in the background, she couldn't help but feel that this was the perfect time for a proposal.

Her heart skipped a beat. It's not that she was not ready to hear a proposal, it was in fact overdue. It just felt so foreign to her. All her life, she never imagined that she would think of a man as a potential husband.

Currently, she was looking into his eyes. Initially she had thought that since he was a few months younger than her, he was too young for her. But now she realized that he was in fact the right man for her.

Henry Blanc didn't fail to notice the look of admiration emanating from her eyes. His confidence was once again boosted.

He found a topic to talk about. "Tomorrow evening, I'm inviting my friends for a meal at my villa. Will you be free to come?"

Lin Lihua didn't find a reason to reject him. "I'll be there."

The man was satisfied. His progress wasn't too bad. They chatted about a few things over their date. She even told him about her new entertainment agency. She would start recruiting artists in a week.

"How long will you be staying this time?" she asked as they walked out.

"That depends. I don't have much to do in Country C.  But if you ask me to stay, I will."

"Well…" Lin Lihua didn't know what to say. So Henry Blanc knew how to flirt as well.

He didn't want to make her feel awkward. As they approached the exit, he asked her, "Shall I drop you off?"

"My…" she wanted to say that her chauffeur was just around but changed her mind. Who didn't want to be dropped off by a handsome man? She changed her statement to "My chauffeur has to deal with something so I may have to trouble you."

Henry Blanc was of cause happy to drop off his beauty. "It's no trouble."

Just as he finished speaking, the chauffeur arrived with the car. He saw her and thought she was going to enter the car so he got off to open the back car door for her. "Eldest Miss…"

Lin Lihua glared at him fiercely. Her eyes held a warning: if you dare utter a single word!

The poor chauffeur felt his back go numb from her sudden glare. Why was Eldest Miss giving him that look? Did he interrupt something he shouldn't?

He rubbed his head awkwardly and rushed back into the car. Lin Lihua ignored him and looked at Henry Blanc.

The man obviously caught on what was going on but he didn't expose her. He was in fact very elated that she was finding excuses to spend more time with him.

He opened the passenger door for her and when she was well seated, he went round to the driver's seat. They found that they had quite a number of topics to discuss. He actually deliberately slowed down so the trip would be longer. Lin Lihua didn't mind this and was happy to spend more time with him.

When they reached her apartment, he got off the car and helped her out.

"You should rest early." He said.

"So should you." She answered and took a few steps forward. On her fifth step, she suddenly stopped.

Henry Blanc was still watching her walk away and was stunned when she stopped walking. "Is anything wrong?"

"H-henry." She called out his name uneasily.

The man felt an explosion boom in his head. Did she just call him by his first name? Not only that, she turned and took those few steps back to him. Yet, the hugest shock was yet to come.

"You should stay a little longer." She said. Then like a puff of wind he would feel for just a  microsecond, she hugged him lightly and retreated by a step. "I will go up now." Her face was now flushed with nervousness.

"Wait."

"What is it?"

Instead of talking, he enclosed the distance between them, pulled her in his arms and hugged her a little longer. Only then did he let go. The woman before him looked totally stunned. She ran away as fast as the night wind.
