Chapter 259 - Nothing can stop us

Lu Aotian unknowingly clenched his fists. He tried hard to calm his racing heart. He sounded very hurt when he spoke. "You promised to be with me forever." 

His voice was so broken that it was unrecognizable. Was that really Lu Aotian?

That night, Lu Aotian was not the only one dreading about his possible break up. 

In his apartment, Tyler was trying to stop Yun Xuan from leaving. 

It was not sure what she was thinking but he suddenly recieved a call from his part time housekeeper, telling him that Yun Xuan was packing her bags with the intention of leaving. 

He rushed over immediately. He was not on any mission after all. He had just used it as an excuse. 

"Darling!" he called out as soon as he entered his apartment. 

The sight he met was Yun Xuan dragging a suitcase while the housekeeper coaxed her to stay. 

He rushed up to her and took her hand. "Darling, what's the meaning of this?" 

Yun Xuan had already made up her mind. "I'm leaving. I'm breaking up with you." 

"No way! Is it because of what happened on our way to the Civil Affairs bureau?" He was talking about him being summoned by Boss Five. It was just an excuse on his part but Yun Xuan thought it was actually true. 

"You abandoned your mission to rush here?" she sneered. Who was the one that said that his work was his main priority? 

He pulled the huge suitcase out of her hand and hugged her. "Honey, If I was on a life or death mission and I recieved news that you were leaving, I would run over even if I was in the north pole." 

Well, that was the true. Ever since finding out that he was in love with Yun Xuan, he had been trying his best to keep her safe. If this was before, he wouldn't have hesitated to marry her. He would give her a fake marriage certificate and pretend to be her husband for a while. 

However now...

He wanted to really be her husband. 

"I'm starting to think you're with me for a reason that's not love." She said. 

Tyler felt his soul leave his body. Had she found out?

"What are you talking about? Why else would I be with you? It's because I love you"

Yun Xuan looked him in the eye. "Really? Then prove it to me."

At such a moment, telling her the whole truth would be the best form of evidence but he couldn't bear to say a word of it. It would only worsen the situation. He kissed her lips and said, "I promised that we would get married when I return. I'm back now so..." his voice trailed off. 

Marriage was the most irrefutable evidence of love, right? All he needed to do was protect her.

"Darling, I will never accept a divorce." He suddenly said. 

Yun Xuan was still processing what he had just said about his return. Was he suggesting to get married? His next statement jolted her. Never accept a divorce? "Why do you sound like you are sure I will want a divorce?" 

Because you will, okay?

"Let's get married tomorrow morning. Nothing will stop us this time, not even if a life or death emergency happened." 

Yun Xuan was indeed moved by his seriousness. Perhaps she was just thinking too much. If he didn't love her, he wouldn't have rushed over and coaxed her to stay. 

It was decided.

Meanwhile, Southside Villa.

Lu Aotian looked like he was about to recieve a death sentence. 

Wan Jia glanced up at him. She was about to speak but he placed his hand on her mouth to shut her up. He let go of her wrist and hugged her waist tightly, pulling her against him. "My love, you can't leave me..." 

Wan Jia suddenly burst out laughing. 

Lu Aotian held her even tighter...she almost couldn't breath. "You..." 

Wan Jia laughed so hard that he had to let go of her. "What's wrong with your brain? I meant our engagement must come to an end today to pave way for our marriage. What are you thinking? Are you still so paranoid?" 

"What did you say?" 

Wan Jia held her tummy and laughed her butt off.

Lu Aotian was finding it hard to understand her. What was she going on about?

He picked the file he had shoved aside and opened it. On the first page was a huge "Marriage papers". 

He had to close the file and open it again. What did he just see? 

Marriage what? 

What happened to calling off the engagement? She... 

Now that he thought about it, if they were married, they wouldn't be engaged anymore. It was a total upgrade but this naughty thing had  played a word game with him  and made his imagination run wild. He was still afraid of losing her. How could he not overthink it?

"You did this on purpose." He gritted his teeth.

"I only said to end our engagement and your imagination ran so wild. How can you blame me? Wait, are you going to sign it or not?" 

Without saying a word, Lu Aotian picked a pen and signed the papers.

She gave the file to someone to send it back to the Civil Affairs Bureau. 

She was still laughing when she came back. "You should have seen your expression. You looked so adorable." 

"It's not funny!" 

"How is it not funny? I should have recorded...hey! Put me down." 

....

"Aotian..."

"Aotian...please be gentler..."
