Chapter 213 - Paternity test results

Lu Shaoting was not usually gossipy but his interest was piqued. "You heard about my sister-in-law? What did you hear?"

Su Ling felt awkward talking about rumours she had heard about the grand Lu family. "Well...President Lu divorced her partially because she couldn't give birth. The rumour said that she cared too much about her beauty and said that she would not be pretty anymore if she had kids."

Lu Shaoting remained silent.

Su Ling continued. "Also, I heard that she hated President Lu's family and often picked fights with Old master Lu, calling him a devil and cursing him to die. She would put on airs and bully everyone around President Lu. Eventually, Président Lu could not tolerate her anymore and they got into a fight.

Lu Shaoting was speechless.

The woman Su Ling just described, was that Wan Jia? How come he knew nothing about it?

"Whoever started those rumours is quite idle. My brother and Wan Jia have always been in love. As for why they divorced, it was all a misunderstanding." Lu Shaoting laughed.

"Really? Then it was all a lie..."

Her expression showed that she was hiding something else. "Are there more?" He probbed.

"No, no more." she shook her head.

"But your expression says the exact opposite. You can ask me anything."

"It might be offensive....you can't get angry, alright?"

"If it's offensive then don't say it."

Su Ling sighed in relief. It was good that he let it go. Otherwise it would be so embarassing to ask if he and President Lu's ex wife really slept together.

If she asked that question, Lu Shaoting would tell her that even if Lu Aotian died, he would never, even in his dreams, touch his woman.

At night, Lu Shaoting picked the paternity test report from the hospital and went to Southside Villa.

Wan Jia looked upset and was being held comfortingly in Lu Aotian's arms.

Lu Shaoting instantly complained. "You're in the living room, sheesh! Now I understand why Little Jia is a little tyrant."

"What's wrong with the living room? We are adults and this is our house." Lu Aotian glared at him.

Wan Jia's focus was on the second part. "How is my little baby a tryrant? Which eye of yours saw that?"

Lu Shaoting ignored them and placed the file on the coffee table. "I'm going to look for my darling niece."

Wan Jia held the file like it contained the nation's top secret.

"Nervous?" Lu Aotian teased.

"I don't know what to hope for." she tried to calm her heart. "Whatever it is, I can ask Xia Rou."

Lu Aotian couldn't help but reprimand her. "She gave birth to you. Aren't you being too disrespectful by adressing her by name?"

"Whose side are you on?" she exploded.

"I'll always be on your side, but would be happy if Little Jia adressed you as 'Wan Jia'?"

"This is not about Little Jia. I did not abandon my daughter." she was getting angrier by the second.

Lu Aotian did not want to anger her any more. She could not be expected to accept Xia Rou that fast. She would change her mind with time.

"My love, about the report..." he wanted to tell her that the report had both a real and a fake result, but she had already opened the file.

"Aah-!" she screamed and let the file fall to the floor.

Lu Aotian was stunned too.

"LU! SHAO! TING!"

Lu Shaoting was playing with Little Jia. The door was open so he heard her scream. "Little Jia, your Mommy is looking for me. I'll be right back, okay?"

"Is Mommy okay? I'm coming with you."

She would not understand the adults' discussion but Wan Jia sounded very frightening. "Mommy is okay. You can't come with me because the adults want to discuss alone. Be good, mmh?"

"Yes uncle."

Lu Shaoting was trembling the whole time but he had to keep his composure in Little Jia's presence.

He closed the door to her room behind him and ran all the way downstairs.

"Sister-in-law, what is it? You almost tore down the whole villa."

Lu Aotian speechlessly glanced at him then directed his gaze to the fallen file. It had flipped closed when it fell.

"What...what is it?" He picked it like it was a fireball and opened it slowly.

When he saw the content, he dropped it in horror.

"Lu Shaoting, what's the meaning of this? Did you get the right report?"

Lu Shaoting was still in shock. "Yes. It has your name on it, can't you see? I didn't open it."

Lu Aotian picked the file and examined it. He was the only calm person in the room.

"Bro, is it paint?" Lu Shaoting asked.

"It's blood." Lu Aotian answered.

Wan Jia wished she was not part of this spooky discussion. Had Halloween come too soon?

"What's the meaning of this?" she closed her eyes and massaged her temples. With her eyes closed, she did not see the Lu brothers exchanging looks.

When she opened the file and saw the bloody sheet of paper, she dropped it before understanding the content properly.

The Lu brothers looked at each other knowingly.

The complicated bloody characters were codes written using real blood. It had dired off leaving a really scary sight. Below it was a doctor's badge. It belonged to the genius doctor who had done the test.
