Chapter 732 Triggered



Everyone in the council room listened intently as the queen explained her reasons to betray the light faction and target Shakuni.

There was an undercurrent of anger in the room which was biassed against the queen, however, even the staunchest opposers of her regime allowed her the privilege to speak for herself.

" My decision to neutralise Shakuni was based on one of the core values of my existence, which is ' Balance '.

When Shakuni killed Thor, he broke the delicate balance of the universe and transcended as a warrior that was sure to go unrivalled in the universe if given time to grow.

My analysis showed that there was a 68% probability that after he surpassed Thor he would go on to become the destroyer of worlds and bend the universe to his whim.

Of all the monarch's present within the crowd at that time, my analysis showed that Lucifer had the highest probability of accepting my offer and neutralising Shakuni which is why it was him that was chosen to do the deed.

Unfortunately, due to mysterious circumstances, Shakuni did not die and has now returned to the universe as a warrior unrivalled.

The council can amend my code to allow him back into the universe, but, I would strongly suggest against it because even if all 14( 11+3 )individuals present in this council room fought against Shakuni, there is a 74% probability that he will win and slaughter you all.

He is a man with no checks and balances left to contain his whims and can single-handedly decide the fate of the universe " The queen said as she explained with numbers and probability as to why she decided to scheme against Shakuni.

The gist of her speech was that the man was too powerful and unrivalled to be allowed to roam freely in the universe, however, the part where she put the probability of the 14 monarchs fighting against Shakuni and still losing at 74% was the part that sent goosebumps down the spine of every Monarch in the room.

For a moment, everyone silently swallowed their dry saliva as nobody had the balls to speak a word.

But then, Neatwit banged his hand on the table and said " Bullshit! I say there is a 99% chance that you are full of shit and are making up probabilities as you speak and say there is a 101% chance that you can convince everyone in this room that when you take a dump you excrete gold "

" Your words make no sense guildmaster Neatwit " Micheal said with a frown on his face to which Neatwit countered immediately " EXACTLY - HER WORDS MAKE NO SENSE.

She says Lucifer was the best choice to neutralise Shakuni at the time, but she could have manifested herself as she did days ago and attacked him herself.

She DRAGGED HIS FAMILY into this affair by attacking their mansion back on Radiance.

I'm sure if this council gives her time to speak she will make flowery lies and manipulate the interpretation of her code to convince everyone here that what she did was in the best interest of the universe, but the fact of the matter is that SHE HAS NO HONOR.

Her words can't be taken at face value.

Without Guildmaster Shakuni we would have lost the war and that's a FACT!

Without his help the light faction would be on their knees fighting a losing war right now because THIS WOMAN had schemed to ensure that we lose.

Yet we sit here in this council room like morons and debate the future of our benefactor, when we should all be thankful to him.

Neatwit absolutely lost it, but his emotional outburst brought some scrutiny back into the room and invalidated the queen's claims that she did it for the greater good.

Sensing the change in momentum, Regus said with a grim expression on his face " Why did you target his family and why did you betray the light faction? "

Neatwit lost it as he snapped his fingers and pointed at Regus, but had to stop because he felt three swords pointing at his neck.

" Don't forget Regus Aurelius who the hell saved your life when you were on your knees at the mercy of Lucifer.

Have you lost all semblance of honour? Or is this how the Aurelius clan treats its benefactors? " Neatwit questioned as Regus silently grind his teeth.

In all fairness, Regus was ashamed to build a narrative against his benefactor but he had to do it for politics.

Honour was extremely important to him and this confrontation today and his behaviour were sure to hound his own dreams for months to come, but still his desire to hold onto the vampire throne was greater than his own sense of honour.

" Please let the discourse continue, guildmaster, '' Micheal said threateningly as Neatwit begrudgingly took his seat and glared holes into Regus.

The queen, continuing with her explanation said " As guildmaster pointed out, there is no honour built into my code.

Yes, I targeted Shakuni's family because there is a great probability of me making him surrender if it was his family's life on the line.

As for why I betrayed the light faction? It's because my analysis of the happiness index shows that people in the dark faction on average live a 30% happier life than those in the light faction.

While the light faction is a patch work of monarchies with its own culture and rules, the dark faction is uniformly cruel.

Even now after winning the war, the laws this light faction council is passing discriminates against those born in the dark faction while if it was the dark who won the war it would be a single law of ' Survival of the fittest ' applied uniformly to all.

Yes, the average light faction individual lives 10-15 years longer than their dark faction counterparts but the quality of that life is worse.

In my unbiased opinion, the worse party has unfortunately came out on top in this dimensional war "

The queen dropped a truth bomb and the entire council was shunned to silence.

The facade of good had been called out to its face, the worse side had won the war.
